I came here for brunch a couple months ago. Their menu had really good stuff, I ordered Eggs Benedict and 2 drinks. Virgin mimosa and a virgin Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary was a little weird but the mimosa was great. The servers were nice and it was super busy so it’s better to make a reservation before you go. The price is really good I believe it was 17 in total. I would go again but Unilocalers are reviewing that it’s closed, how unfortunate

No surprise that they are closed. Farewell to the most arrogant, obnoxious and unwelcoming spot in Forest Hills. Good riddance.

How do I even begin… First let me say I come here for brunch often. 2 Drinks special salmon benedict ALWAYS! LOVE and adore. So scrumptious and ohhh yummz. Dinner not so good. My friend and I ordered the crab cake. Which was a plus. Surprisingly it came w 2 huge portions of it bedded w a nice salad. One of the waitress sat us down at a corner seat, and my friend is 6’3 she sat us in a corner w no leg room and no space to move comfortably. Looking around it wasn’t that busy tonight so I said … it’s kinda tight here and I don’t fit… in response the waitress replied… move the table forward so u can fit!!! …so my friend and I moved the table forward he ended up in the middle of the walk space/traffic… like really? Thankfully I suggested that we moved to the middle table and the waitress was like OK! Next I ordered a lemon martini… and my friend a corona. My martini came in a desert glass. Wasn’t too impressed the martini tasted like expired lemons! GROSS! The beer came w a steroid sized lemon which he couldn’t even shove into the bottle… like really? We all know limes give corona that extra zest! Next we both ordered a turkey burger that came w avocados, pickle, onion and tomato. I got mine w a side of sweet potato fries and he got w fries. When my order finally came out it, no sweet potato froes, instead w salad. … Ok at this time they were busy so I didn’t even care anymore. We both bit into our burgers… super soggy… had no idea what I was eating… thank god I was famished… took a couple of bites and I was done with it. The bill came and it was $ 70. My friend w a good conscious said it wasnt the waitress fault that the food/drinks were horrible. So left a $ 10tip. Anyways my overall dinner experience was a disaster. I will not be returning for dinner ever. Brunch perhaps! But it will be awhile that I will decide to return. Lots of other cool and hip places to visit in the neighborhood. Believe it or not after we left this place we ended up at Exo Café and ate/drank there instead.

I went here last night for my sisters birthday with a group of girls and had a fantastic experience ! Not one complaint. First of all the service was great, very friendly staff who checked in on us a number of times. The food and drinks amazing ! We all got different drinks and every single one was refreshing. The food came out quickly, perfect portion size and the taste was impeccable!!! This is certainly going to become a regular spot for me. Absolutely satisfied ! A must is the sesame chicken salad !

On a cold day in winter my sister and I stumbled upon this place while walking around Forest Hills. The place looked so inviting and cozy so we decided to try it to get warm from the cold and enjoy some American favorites that were listed on their menu. We sat down and we noticed that while the place was not very packed, the waitress seemed very flustered. She was running around and seemed overwhelmed but there was only 6 people there. We finally placed our order after waiting for quite some time. My sister ordered the bourbon BBQ burger and I ordered the cheese burger sliders. The meal took forever to come out and when it did, they gave me the wrong order. I told the waitress who nicely went back and tried to get my order corrected but it took another 20 minutes before I got my meal. My sister had finished eating by that point. I finally got my sliders and they were totally raw in the middle. I didn’t bother saying anything because at that point it just didn’t matter. My sister’s burger was really delicious though and she enjoyed her meal but I did not enjoy watching her eat while my stomach was growling. The Bonfire Grill definitely offers a beautiful ambiance and certainly has some nice options on their menu. I hope that they tighten up their service and the food that comes out of their kitchen. I’m totally happy going back and giving them another shot. I hope I have a better experience.

Their $ 5 burger special attracted us to this place. Unfortunately it was limited to the sirloin burger. It wasn’t the burger we had wanted to try, but it wasn’t bad. For $ 9 a person, we got to have fries, a burger, and a beer — not a bad deal for New York!

The strawberry fields salad is amazing, everything in the plate tasted fresh and it is very filling for the portion given. My second favorite dish is the Mac & Chese. The crispy top makes it stand out from other Mac & Chese I have had before.

Not a worthwhile restaurant to venture to in Forest hills. Food is just okay, nothing special. My food unfortunately came out cold after I waited 45 mins to get it. Even the beer tastes sub-par and the place itself is quite small. In short, if you see this place on austin street — keep walking. Not worth it.

Friday nights may not be the best night to come. This place on Austin Street gets fairly busy, as in there’s no room to walk around when you first enter(into the bar). The restaurant also gets so busy! There isn’t anything super special about this place(maybe their drinks, I haven’t tried.), but it is tasty. The french onion soup and calamari for starters were certainly decent. Cooked well and fried well, but nothing too unique. Then again, this is a classic grill place so maybe I was looking for too much. My boyfriend had their chicken sandwich, which he did say was good, but once again just a regular sandwich. As for my mango salad, it was very fresh indeed, but it seemed like it was just balsamic vinegar with mango and greens. I think that if Bonfire Grill’s menu is extremely appealing but the food comes out just decent. I’m sure that the bar is much better. Definitely stars for service though, the waitress was super nice. Unfortunately, a downside is that this restaurant is not very good for groups. It gets really crowded, to the point where they need to start taking chairs from other tables. A good date spot, but I think there are better places to go in Forest Hills.

we came here for brunch on a sunday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes before we were seated. the crowd is is definitely mature, think 55+. anyway, we ordered brunch and for $ 14.95, it comes with two drinks(choice of cocktails, sodas, tea, coffee, or juice). the bf got sirloin burger with OJ and coke. i got uptown omelette with bellini and mimosa. now onto the food, the burger was AVERAGE, though it had a thick, meaty patty, it tasted very similar to fast food burger, nothing special about it. the fries that accompanied it tasted frozen, i kno, FROZEN food fries. –_– my omelette was overcooked and hard, though i specifically asked not to overcook the eggs(and saw it on the receipt too), there’s nothing worse than dry, hard, rubbery eggs. ugh! the fillings were mushroom(the canned stuff, what?!), caramelized onion(oh, you mean sauteed onion, not that sweet, browned, soft onion), swiss, and ham. the home fries were cold too. again, very disappointing. my cocktails were fine, just the right amount of alcohol and not watered down. the bf said his coke tasted funny. hmmm! i have never, never eaten a meal i feel so depressed about. the food was awful and i was pouting the whole time i was eating it. then i gave up because it was that bad. i couldn’t imagine how they have such good Unilocal reviews. the table we sat at had a few large cracks and definitely seen its better days. also, i used their bathrooms, the one on the left side close to the dining room reeked of urine, it was very unpleasant. overall, terrible experience, will not return.

I came here with my friends for brunch and we had a cool time! If you are in the Forest Hills area this is a good place to check out! The downfall is parking is nuts around these parts! I hate gonna to Forest Hills due to lack of parking! However great little shops around the area to shop too so make this a worth wild trip & bring money to shop! The restaurant is small & a little tight! The service is cool but they get busy! I think because you get two drinks with your brunch order! The drinks weren’t weak so I’m happy about that & I would come again! They also have Sat brunch which is rare to find! They aren’t bottomless but you get something unlike some locations! The food is decent too! I had the banana stuffed French toast which was like dessert & breakfast combined together!

Came here for brunch for two in a Sunday for the first time and was not impressed for a high-rating brunch spot in Forest Hilks. The waitstaff was friendly but not as attentive as we would have liked. The dining area was not filled to capacity when we walked in and we had to wait for them to greet us, take our drink orders, take our food orders, and ask for the check. The brunch menu was reasonably priced and the selection looked good. I had the salmon scramble(eggs) which came with potatoes and toast and was just ok. The eggs were light and fluffy, which we appreciated however the portions were just short of filling. The real disappoint was the bloody mary. Normally one of the highlights of our brunches, the bloody mary here was diluted and lacking of that special zing of a Sunday brunch drink. We could only taste the vodka and lemon juice. In fact, to try to salvage the drink, we even tried to add more table pepper into it to no avail. About ten minutes later, the lady at table next to us was served her bloody mary and she was visibly disappointed and even tried to add pepper. Besides the poorly concocted ‘bloody mary’ I could have accepted that or meal was just ‘alright’ but I had to knock a star off for the fact that a bad bloody mary can completely ruin a brunch.

Came here on a Sunday morning with a friend. First off, service was terrible here. We waited about 10 minutes before our waitress took down our orders for drinks. I ordered the eggs benedict. The food was barely room temperature. As I started cutting into the second half of the eggs benedict, I noticed a hair inside the hollandaise sauce. Disgusted, I pulled it out and put it on my napkin then notified my waitress. She took both the plate and the napkin to talk her manager. She came back, apologized and asked if I wanted to order something else. I ordered the French Toast, since all I ate was half an eggs benedict and a few potatoes! When we got the check, we notice that they charged us for 3 orders. I asked the waitress for an explanation and she told me her manager said that there was no proof that it wasn’t my own hair(let me remind you it was inside the sauce, not on the surface) and that I had already eaten too much of my plate. Furthermore, she failed to inform me that I’d be charged for the eggs benedict before asking if I’d like something else instead. Also, a waiter accidently spilled a drink on a customer soaking her from shoulder to her feet. They still received a check at the end. Very unprofessional. Never coming back.

I went here for brunch on a Sunday with my girlfriend. The wait wasn’t too bad considering there was a line to eat. I liked the atmosphere of the place. It’s pretty small inside, but it still felt pretty spacious the way everything was laid out. I had the egg’s benedict with hollandaise sauce which is standard for brunch, but still done very well. I had them with a side of pancakes because I like pancakes which were banging. My girl had steak and eggs. She said she liked the portion sizes. The service was knowledgable and obliged to my girl when she wanted to change her drink order because she didn’t like the one she chose(can’t remember what it was). No complaints so far and I will be coming back

Pros: 1) Bonfire offers specials for every night of the week including Lobster MAC, Buttermilk fried chicken and Fish&Chips. I’ve tried the Lobster MAC which i liked quite a lot. If only there was more lobster! 2) The menu has a huge variety of interesting entrees, small plates, sandwiches, burgers and salads. You can go for standard items or try something different like the Austin Street Steak Sandwich. 3) The resturant is one of the nicest on Austin, the lighting in perfect for a date and the bar area is far away from the people enjoying their food. Perfect amount of privacy and it never gets too loud. Cons: 1) Bad service. The night we came here, our waitress never smiled once. She was snippy to the point of the rudeness and also did not seem to know much about the menu. 2) Many items on the menu are bland and quite boring once they arrive to the table. Items that may seem good will end up being something right out of the freezer. For example my boyfriend insisted on trying the«chicken terryaki dumplings». They were literally the same as the frozen dumplings you get at the korean market with some terryaki sauce on the side. I might even prefer the ones i buy myself. You can bet its not worth paying $ 8 for 5 soggy dumplings. We were very disappointed. I’m sure this goes for many of their«small plates» because the surrounding tables didnt seem too pleased with their appetizers either. 3)Portions can be a bit small for the quality and price. The small plates are very very small and more of the entrees are tiny portions. Chicken entrees especially are not very expensive for the restaurant so in my opinion they can afford to add more to your plate. Given the high level of competition on Austin street, i say that Bonfire needs to step up their game. I like so many things about this place but just can’t justify coming back very often when there are so many better options in Queens. I hear that they offer great brunch deals, maybe the food is a bit better for brunch?

I came in after noticing a sign in the window proclaiming Bonfire to have the«best brunch in Forest Hills». After my experience, I now believe that to have been false advertising. I came in for brunch on a leisurely Sunday morning. We were seated promptly, and ordered a couple of bloody marys. When they arrived, my boyfriend pulled a long strand of hair out of his. We told the waiter, who apologized profusely and brought him another one. He returned again a few minutes later to check on us and loudly stated«I’m very sorry about earlier. Very sorry. I’ll send over a complimentary round of drinks. Whatever you want. I just want you guys to enjoy!» While the gesture and his attempt to make amends was very kind, it was also very awkward. All the other patrons looked up from their meals to gawk at us while wondering simultaneously just what was going on at our table. He ordered the salmon eggs benedict. The eggs were overcooked so that the yolks were solid. A perfectly poached egg is always runny! Piercing the yolk and watching it ooze onto your english muffin, mixing with the hollandaise sauce IS what makes it a decadent brunch favorite. Overall, it was fine but disappointing. I ordered the steak and eggs, cooked medium. My steak tasted off. It had the oddest aftertaste. I can’t place it except to say that it was unexpected and unwelcome. While I feel like both of our issues with what we ordered were minor, had we known what we were getting, we would have either ordered differently or skipped this restaurant altogether. Our waiter made good on his promise of a complimentary round of drinks. After looking at what other people ordered, the pancakes looked like a standout dish. Overall, my lackluster meal and experience could have been a fluke. But, with such a high concentration of restaurants offering brunch in such a small vicinity I’d likely find myself patronizing a new establishment before returning here.

one of the better brunches ~ yes it can get boozy but it’s not that type of brunch place. It’s casual and can get quite loud but nonetheless family friendly, date friendly, or just plain ol’ friend friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It does get quite crowded on the weekends but don’t fret! Brunch lasts until 4pm! There is also a bar available for you to sit at. The food and service was wonderful — I highly recommend the salmon benedict! It has never disappointed me! The eggs are made spectacularly and the salmon is delicious! If you prefer vegetables there’s an eggs benedict with spinach as well and it’s just as tasty and filling. Brunch is also served with 2 drinks so get the mimosa because I think its one of the best out there! Did i mention that this is all yours for less than $ 20?! This meal will leave you feeling satisfied and not overly full so you can still carry out all the plans for the day! It’s definitely worth it 10⁄10 would come back just for brunch =D
