Love this place. I always get my sashimi deluxe which is around 17 dollars and it is worth every penny. Fish is fresh, pieces are good size and to top it off you get a salad and a rice bowl with it. It is definitely my favorite place to go.

Totally disappointed today and that’s a bummer because I really like this place. When I got my take out order home I said, «have a little fish with your rice!» We took gobs of rice off the rolls before we ate them and still couldn’t taste the fish. Very disappointed in how sloppy the rolls were too.

ordered chirashi to go. There are no sauces to cover up flavor of fish. Fish was very fresh, best in Sacramento area on par with Bay Area. Will take friends and family next visit.

Tried a new sushi place and I wouldn’t recommend at all. Not what I expected in Folsom honestly. The sushi rolls are dry and they don’t use real crab in their rolls either. They use a mixture of imitation crab and mayonnaise and call it ‘crab salad’ and if you want to substitute it for real snow crab(which looks like cat food) it’s an extra $ 2.50. They definitely need some sushi making lessons. They’re rolls don’t even stay together, every single piece unrolled immediately. Do not come here if you’re looking for good sushi. You will be VERY disappointed.

Average sushi bar. I’ve had worse in this town, and I’ve had better in this town. Honestly there isn’t much to say about this place … they serve mediocre sushi. Won’t be back.

Good little spot. Went here on a date. The food was pretty good, the portions were more than generous, and the prices were reasonable. The staff were lovely, smiley, and friendly. The only complaint I have is for the matcha mochi, which tasted of freezer burn on the outside. Otherwise, 4 stars!

So good. First time trying this sushi place today and it was fantastic. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, Mt. Fuji roll and the asparagus roll. I got the last two rolls for $ 5.00 each for the happy hour special. Each piece of all the rolls was perfect. The rolls weren’t falling apart or unevenly filled. They were perfect. Each bite was just as good as the last. I ordered take out, but will definitely visit again for a fine-in experience. One of the best places in Folsom. Check them out! Friendly staff too.

Looking for a new local sushi bar to enjoy with the family of four so we tried Taiko. Excited to see a very full restaurant as we walked in and we were happy with a short five minute wait for a table. Ended up ordering a couple of appetizers, pepper fin and bbq albacore along with some edamame. Also ordered three rolls as a start… and waited and waited and waited. 25 minutes later our cold edamame arrived. I like cold edamame but 25 minutes!!! The rest of the dishes were about 20 minutes after that. Sushi was decent, even good, but the kitchen was exceptionally slow. Couldn’t stomach the thought of waiting another half an hour for a follow up order so we left hungry and grabbed a good helping of yogurt at Nuyo. I’m not sure we’ll be up for giving it a second chance in the near future. Our sushi search continues…

Phenomenal food every time. Sushi always tastes fresh, the staff is friendly, and their hot food is delicious. The only thing holding me back from giving them a full 5 star rating is that on occasion, though not often, even though the staff is friendly we have had some disappointing service. When we have had the food service we expect when coming here, it’s fantastic. But I think occasionally they underestimate the amount of wait staff they need for busier lunch and dinner rushes. I don’t want that to steer anyone away fr wanting to eat here though, because it’s absolutely worth it. If you’re on a tight budget, their sushi happy hour is awesome! $ 5 rolls!

This is by far the best sushi in Folsom. 3 – 6 Monday– Friday $ 5 rolls and $ 2 beers. If you haven’t been do yourself a favor and give it a try. The sushi chefs are amazing too!

In search for sushi places in Folsom, Tokio name appears as 4 star restaurant. I love to try places with 4 and above stars. And the waitress was nice and kept asking how can she help us. She was on point. Around 5pm less people so it’s nice to come here when it’s not noisy. Food was good. I wish it had some sauce to give flavor. Besides that, the rolls were cheap and worth it. I loved that happy hour deal was $ 5 and it comes with free miso soup. Totally worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone. And do try fiji sushi roll. I think my favorite was rocky or catalina. They were good.

The BBQ Albacore was good. I didn’t care for the California roll it had crab sticks instead of crab salad in it. The miso soup was decent. The ginger was good quality.

Called in for a pick up order wednesday 07/01/2015 and once I arrived they still didn’t have my order ready. It was only 4 small orders. It wasn’t busy there was only about 5 tables reserved and yet one chef who decides to take his sweet time. They told me a 20 minute wait but I’ve been waiting for about 50 minutes and barely had time to eat for my lunch. I’ve never seen a chef that slow. the order was sloppy, rice kept falling and plus it was super pricey. I could have gotten behind the bar and made my own sushi rolls quicker than that. And the waiter/host was brand new so he didnt really know much but he was nice. Lol sorry but I’m not coming back.

Wow! Delicious! As a fam we hadn’t been here in years due to too many poor sushi experiences, only our son gets take out for the yummy house special udon, never disappoints. Sons birthday wish to eat in at taiko. Fantastic surprise. BBQ albacore incredible, baked muscles with scallops another winner with flavorful juices, rocky roll another hit. Everything was so fresh and tasty! Going to add to our rotation of restaurants.

Good sushi The sushi here is pretty good. I enjoyed the rolls I tried. Service was fair at best and a bit on the slow side. It didn’t seem overly busy at the time I was there but the server seemed agitated and uninterested in our table. Maybe it was just a bad day? I would probably sit at the sushi bar if I returned because the sushi chefs seemed to be in a better mood.

A little out of sight(hidden in the corner of a strip mall) but excellent and fairly priced food. I normally have one of the tasty kaiseki boxes and take food home or munch on a Rocky Roll. Tammy and Yan are both friendly and attentive servers/waitpersons. I always enjoy my meals here and recommend to anyone with a yen(pun intended) for good Japanese food.

Good sushi, friendly service. I’ve been here a few times, but this was one of my deceased friends favorite sushi places so coming here is always like a memorial to her. They have two Japanese beers(Sapporo and Kirin I think) on tap, which is nice too. I think they are a little heavy on the sauce they top some of rolls with. I’m sure they would hold it if asked though.

The wait staff was horrible. They couldn’t care less about you. We waited 15 minutes for a glass of water. Took over an hour for one sushi roll and it tasted burned. I’m pretty sure i have food poisoning from them. I will be going to the drs asap tomorrow. Purely disgusting.

Taiko Sushi is located in a major strip mall in Broadstone. It was almost empty during lunchtime, which is a bad sign. Tried the Taiko Roll, it was good enough. The rolls come with a small Miso soup, with Tofu chunks. Prices are expensive for lunch, and portions are small. They are famous for their Bento boxes, would try that if I ever go back.
