I came here with my mom to support shop small business Saturday(11÷28÷15) to tackle some Christmas shopping We found a ceramic Rooster Soup Tureen at Mélange, great price and super cute for my aunt who loves cooking and roosters. It was perfect. We purchased the Tureen and asked if we could leave it at the shop while we continued shopping the rest of Sutter St. They said it wasn’t a problem and they would wrap it up for us and we could pick it up later when we we were ready to leave. After finishing our shopping and picking up the Rooster Tureen we left Sutter St. Had I been smarter, I would have checked to Tureen before leaving, because when we got home, unpacking the Tureen we realized they had barely put ANY bubble wrap or any sort of «packaging» to protect it. Not only had the ladle completely snapped in half the top of the Tureen had completely chipped. Mind you we had only walked from the shop to our car(10ft) with it and I had it on my lap while my mom drove home. When we went to see if there was anything Mélange could do and they couldn’t have been more RUDE saying there was nothing they could do since it was a one of a kind piece and they have a VERYSTRICT no exchanges/returns policy. My mom tried to explain to them what happened and that it was due to their inadequate«packaging» and they offered no sort of condolences or responsibility for anything. We ended up paying $ 50 for a ceramics coup tureen that they broke and then refused to refund/exchange/fix. On top of that the owner NEVER called like the clerk said they would and we were completely written off like we were the problem. I am all for supporting small businesses but I will not be back to Mélange as they have no integrity for their own business or respect for their customers. Very sad to be so disappointed in such«nice» people.

Mélange is every fabulous French wannabe’s wet dream. Want an Eiffel Tower necklace? Mélange has thirty different kinds. Need a kitchen poster made from a French advertisement of a woman seductively eating grapes? Too bad, that one’s mine. Walking around this place could make the sweetest girl feel like a hot home-wrecker. Please hand me my Rouge in Love 181, darling, I’m going shopping at Mélange. I could spend all day in here, listening to Sinatra, looking all all the pretty pink poodles, lace parasols, doilies, ceramic bird soap dishes– the list goes on, of course. They are a tad bit on the pricier side, but most of the stuff here is very unique, since it is custom-made or altered by the ladies who own the shop. If you absolutely need your home decorations to make you feel fantastic, this is the place to come. The clerks aren’t the friendliest, but they’re definitely nowhere near the snottiest on Sutter Street. I sometimes wonder if they made the floors super-creaky on purpose so that they could keep tabs on where you are. But, when you have a question, they are there, and they are reasonable. My only beef with Mélange is that I once saw chocolate wax candles priced at $ 3 each– the same exact chocolate wax candles that I had purchased from the Dollar Tree a month earlier. So, you know that what you are getting will be marked up, but it will also be, well, like I said, fabulous.

I love the variety in Mélange! Great location right off of Sutter Street. Lots of vintage, French, shabby chic, and elegant décor! I’ve always received excellent customer service from the staff. Now my ideal shopping day includes lunch on Sutter Street, a visit to Mélange in Folsom, and a stop at Bloomingdeals and Finders Keepers across the bridge in Orangevale. Between the three boutiques, I’m in Heaven!

Beautiful boutique with an overwhelming amount of vintage and shabby chic items. They are priced extremely fair to my surprise. They are located in the quaint area of old Folsom within walking distance of other great shops and eateries. The owner was a doll. She was very friendly and willing to share great stories of where she acquired the items and also shared fun memories if certain items that belonged to her late relatives. I will definitely be back when I’m ready to assemble my French Quarter themed room.

My mother and I call this«the pink store» because the sign outside is pink and I don’t know how to pronounce«Mélange» but it doesn’t matter what you call it… its an adorable little store, filled with moderately priced antique and new items. I purchased a bar of soap that read, «today was a totally waste of makeup!» to put a in my bathroom… my mother got a pink crown coat hanger. They have cute little knickknacks that you don’t need but will love to own!

We walked through Mélange last weekend and it was a feast for the eyes and senses. If you enjoy a French feel, shabby chic cottage, you will love this. I felt my mood elevate as soon as I walked into the various softly painted rooms reminicent of a time gone by. The textures, the lace, pictures, chandeliers, sun filtered light and unique gift item all affordablely priced. They sell everything you need, from Perisian-like cards, to duvets, to shabby chic like headboards — it’s all there!

Even before you walk in the store you know that the shabby chic look exploded in here. There is outdoor merchandise placed right outside of the store and then as soon as you walk in there are TONS of things to look at. This store has several rooms to practically decorate every room in the house. If you are very girly and frilly then this store is for you. This place is NOT for tomboys. As soon as I walked in there I thought of all the girly girls out there. I think my niece would have a ton of fun walking around this girly store. They carried everything from décor, to witty retro soaps and kitchen towels, mirrors, frames, furniture … etc. There’s really just so much in this store, it’s amazing how they managed to fit everything in here. Don’t forget to visit the room right behind the register, I can see anyone mistaking it for their back stock room.

This is a great little shop. It is always expertly decorated and has a wide variety of items. I come in when I need gifts and always find something unique. Vintage items too, so its not really new from the catalog. love it. this is what makes big box shopping look bad!

Darling store, each room filled to the gils with tons of cute home décor. One of kinds and handmade. Each room is filled with different themed items: Seashells, jewelry, pink baby gifts, perfume bottles, candles, kitchenware, toiletries, tea cups and pots, serving ware, white distressed wood furniture and white wrought iron and frou frou girlie stuff. Sort of shabby chic, French vintage, beach house and higher end Martha Stewart type items. You will find your inner girl, princess here. Prices are reasonable to pricey. On the corner of Historic Sutter Street, at the end/beginning of Sutter Street. Street parking.
