Great place in Folsom within walking distance of Intel to have awesome mexican food! The ingredients were very fresh and very friendly staff! Loved my veggie burrito and will be back for sure!

They did a catering job for us a few weeks ago. They arrived over an hour late and took a long time to set up. The food was mediocre at best. I would not hire them again.

I got a discount coupon for this place and since I have been looking for a good Mexican place in Folsom, I was eager to try it. My friend said the one in Placerville was good so we went today for lunch. I did read some reviews prior to us going and most seemed good but the ones that were bad were to my dismay spot on. The steak had absolutely no flavor, as well as the re-fried beans, not crazy about rice but I did eat some and it was better then the taco and beans were. The only saving grace was that the Salsa was good, I used it to add flavor to my steak taco but still couldn’t eat all of it as the salsa made it all wet. When we got there at 12:40, the tables were dirty which also turned me off. Doubt I will ever go back there

My first time here and I ordered catering for a bachelorette party. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food I received, there was more than enough and leftovers for days! I ordered carnitas, chicken, beans, rice, corn and flour tortillas, pico de gallo, and cilantro and onions. The Carnitas and the chicken were both really delicious! Perfect for party food and post partying late night eating. Since I had never eaten there before, it may be unfair to have not been happy with the beans and rice, as they weren’t what I expected them to be. However, all in all it was great and would definitely order from them again.

Been here twice since I moved to Folsom and was grossed out both times. Second time I found a bone the size of a ping pong ball in my carnitas burrito. I was very lucky it only hit the edge of my teeth instead of biting down directly on it and losing a few. People making the food are pretty rude as well. Made me feel a little like they were doing me a favor by selling me an $ 8 burrito. Won’t be back.

First time and was pleasantly surprised. About 8pm and had a few people in this large store front. Wasn’t sure if it was Cali Mex or Mex. study menu and asked questions. Fish tacos are cod. We saw all the fresh veggie toppings and noticed a salsa bar with chips and several salsas and marinated carrots n peppers. Ordered Chile Colorado Burrito with Spanish rice and retried beans. Added salsa a little lettuce. No Guac or sour cream. Nice size. Nicely wrapped great taste but a little wet. Would ask for less juice next visit. Order fajita bowl no tortilla with steak. Added lettuce. Fresh sliced guac, cilantro, onion, jalapeño, a little queso. Really fresh thru n thru. Flavorful with added fresh lime. Salsa bar had 3 selections all very good. My preference is also fresh diced salsa. Chips are warmed and all you can eat. Two beers. Modelo and dos Equis. Friendly service. Clean restaurant. Plan to come back again soon.

We ordered few burritos here. It was freshly prepared as we order, best tasting burrito. Would stop by this place if in the neck of the woods. Thank you!

Pros: this family-owned restaurant is always happy for your business. Long lines at lunchtime, but they serve it up fresh in front of you. The prices are quite reasonable. The burrito bowls are pretty good! They recently remodeled too. Cons: I don’t know how they season their beef but I don’t care for it. Outside chairs are not very comfortable. I’d love it if they walled the patio, put up a patio cover and got some decent outdoor furniture. We’d be there for evening margaritas!

Food was good. Lots to choose from. I wasn’t sure what to order so I just went with the lunch special which was the tinga tacos and a salad. Honestly I didn’t know what tinga tacos were when I ordered them but decided to be adventurous on my hour lunch break lol so why not… They were delicious and hit the spot! There is plenty of indoor seating. They also have a couple of tables with umbrellas outside. I’ll be back to give the other menu items a try.

Decent chips bar, big burritos. Just don’t waste your time on «fajita style» and just get extra veggies. They put so little green peppers and onions on it’s not worth the extra cost, not like chipotle.

Freshmex is a Mexican fast food place that wants to attract the chipotle or the qdoba crowd. Where they fail is they are not fresh as compared to chipotle and as far as qdoba is concerned I don’t like that food anyway. So maybe they are similar to qdoba. They have a huge menu but what I liked is that they have to option of low carb or paleo bowl. What I didn’t like was that they charge $ 2 more for fajitas bowl that only has extra onions and peppers. The food is OK but did give me stomach upset. My bet is on the not so fresh guacamole which looked like a day old sad a mole. I did like their grilled chicken which was top notch and their chips and salsas were free and tasty. So overall a quick lunch place especially if you are running late for a post lunch meeting and your café food sucks

I came here because I had a Valpak coupon about to expire tomorrow. As usual, I try the carnitas super burrito. They make it in front of you with the ingredients you choose. They had guacamole! I enjoyed the burrito and the chips from the salsa bar, which I’m usually timid on thee hotter salsas, however the mild salsa had that smoky roasted flavor. It was to my satisfaction. I will be back!

Pretty darn good place, and one not afraid to supply you with the means to come away entirely full and possible leftovers. Good pricing and quick service makes for many a return visit.

I LOVE Freshmex. I always get the burrito bowl. This place reminds me of Chipotle, in the sense that they build your burrito/bowl in front of you. Taste-wise though… not similar at all! This place is authentic and tastes a lot better. I like adding a scoop of enchilada sauce to my bowl… YUM.(You DEFINITELY have to try it!) :) It’s fast, friendly service. Lots of good salsas in the salsa bar and the chips are always good. Good prices. Good food for both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Just all around a good place!(I just used«good» way too many times in a row!) The delicious, authentic taste is what really sets them apart. There is also lots of parking. If you’re looking for something fancy, with table service, then this is not the place for you. I HIGHLY recommend you check this place out!(Or their other location, up close to Placerville.)

THERICEISNOTVEGETARIAN. I have been eating here from time to time since last May or so, I would say I’ve been in 10 or 11 times. The food is good, portions are okay, there are many salsa options. That being said… The first time I came in, I asked a staff member if both the rice and beans were vegetarian.(Menu indicates that vegetarian burrito includes rice and beans, but you can never be too sure.) She confirmed that there are no animal products, so I thought I was good to go. I had the rice a few times but could’ve sworn I detected a hint of something. I asked again on TWO other occasions and was again reassured that the rice is vegetarian.(Yes– I did specifically ask about chicken stock. Both women in the front at that time confirmed that they do not use chicken stock.) A few weeks ago a coworker pointed out that they definitely use chicken stock in their rice, so I decided that since I hadn’t confirmed in a while I thought I would ask again. Oh boy was I in for a rude awakening! The girl at the register confirmed that they DO in fact use chicken stock in their rice, and their recipe has not recently changed. So their«vegetarian» label for some of their menu items containing rice is definitely misleading. Kind of disgusting/sickening to think that I’ve eaten it that many times. It’s okay not to cater to vegetarians, but you shouldn’t claim that you do if that isn’t the case. Definitely won’t be eating here anymore, kind of bummed that they insisted on lying about their ingredients and that they have such a loose definition of «vegetarian».

Cheap Mexican food made right in front of you! Good variety of salsas at their salsa bar plus fountain drinks and Horchata at the fountain station. Casual, affordable and large portions! We will return.
