It’s 5 stars unless you go there when it’s reallyyyy busy then they will most likely rush to cook your food and sometimes it will be undercooked.

Came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. Hoped with the crowd for a great meal. Unfortunately the cooks were in such a hurry to get through the line they under cooked mine and my friends bowls. She had raw beef and I had raw chicken. My child’s bowl was covered in red hot peppers because they grill wasn’t cleaned by the previous person. Long story short… came hungry and left hungry.

My friend and I came here for lunch. The set up is a little confusing for a first timer. Basically you go in and just get in line for the BBQ. There were no prices anywhere which was annoying as well. I didn’t know if it was ayce or per bowl. It ended up being $ 10 for a bowl of all you can fit. I recommend putting the noodles in first and then the meat because the meat takes up the most space. Other than that, it’s very standard Mongolian BBQ. I enjoyed the egg drop soup even if it was a little salty, but the wonton chips were stale and I never to used the rice. There’s a yogurt machine as well but I didn’t get any of that either.

Ok so Changs was the first Mongolian BBQ I have ever been to. This was nearly 12 years ago. I have eaten at several others since then and what I can say is Changs is one of my favorites. I love consistency, and that’s exactly what you get here. The service is always good, the restaurant is clean and the food always fresh. This place is very simple which I love. Don’t forget to make your own soft serve ice cream for dessert. It’s such a nice treat that’s included wth your meal. See you guys next time. Keep up the good work.

It’s a bit overwhelming if you’re a newbie. Make sure to go with someone who has been here before. I walked in and immediately was confused. Luckily for me, my husband has been here multiple times for lunch with coworkers. The hostess asks you how much people are in your party and you immediately go straight to the food line. Once your food is done, the hostess directs you to your table. There was a bowl of rice and soup waiting for us at our table. It can be a tad bit frustrating since they don’t clean up the grill after each use so you sometimes end up with ingredients from other people’s bowls. Just politely ask the cook if he can clean the grill. TIPS: Don’t be afraid or shy to load up on veggies and meat. They will shrink once cooked.

I’m a fan of all Mongolian Grills. I will say my visit was on a Friday and it was very well run. Only thing is that even if a person has a one trip up to the grill or five trips up to the grill. I should be able to get a to go box for what’s left in my bowl no matter how many times a person goes up to the grill. Most people don’t go more then twice. Just saying.

Love this place. I have been coming here for years and the food is absolutely delicious! They have so many options to choose from, an array of sauces and even seafood(shrimp and calamari) at dinner time. The toasted chips with the sweet and sour sauce is yummy and you always get a bowl of white rice on the side. The guys cook the food super fast and service is always great. They even have a dessert bar and ice cream machine(: No complaints here. I highly recommend this place!

Very basic meal. $ 10.95 per person for dinner with as many trips as you want for food. They also have a soft serve ice cream bar and appetizers that are complimentary. I chose not to partake in those. If you want a quick fairly nutritious inexpensive meal with veggies and protein this is the place.

Pay $ 9 and get exactly what you want! Pay an extra $ 3 and you can go back a second time or more. The food was delicious! I was only able to eat one bowl. The service is good too. Will definitely come back.

Rating this 5 based on its own category of place and as Mongolian Grills go, this one’s very good. Food is fresh and really good, place is clean, it’s all you can eat, and the soft serve is Berkeley Farms real cream stuff, not that weird pseudo soft serve that’s all icy you get a lotta places these days.

Had a catered lunch and the food was great. Just have to remember to request veggie dishes without eggs. On time delivery and setup was nice.

I love Chang’s Mongolian Grill. I have been to a few different Mongolian BBQ places in Sacramento, and this one is the best. Aside from the fact it’s close to home, the owners are always nice and attentive. The restaurant is clean. The food line may be a little messy from time to time but that’s more due to customers dropping food while they’re trying to fill their bowls. The meat and vegetables and sauces are always fresh and full. If you are dining in you always get soup and won-ton chips or egg rolls(it differs between lunch and dinner). The one thing I don’t care for(but can’t be helped) is sometimes you end up with ingredients from other people’s bowls because they are usually cooking two bowls at the same time on one grill. It’s not a deal breaker for me… just pick out the pieces you don’t like. But if you have serious food allergies, I would not recommend. A couple helpful tips: 1. When you walk in for the first time, it might be a little confusing because they don’t seat you right away. If you catch their attention and tell them how many people in your group, then you just go straight to the food line. By the time you get down the line and your bowl is cooked, they will have set up a table for you. 2. If you want your order to go, tell them before you get in line, and also tell the men cooking your bowl. That way they’ll put it in a to-go box for you. You’ll also still get rice and won-tons or egg rolls when you get it to go. You won’t get soup.

Friend recommendation fail. No doubt that the selection was awesome and food was tasty but it gave me and hubby diarrhea. Terrible visits to the loo that I had to make this review. Pregnant and having stomach pains is no Bueno. So no more changs for us and I won’t be recommending this to family and friends. I am afraid they’d go through the same horrible situation. The lady was friendly and courteous though, 2 stars for you. Carpet already stinks so there’s probably room for upgrade.

I visited this place today after a long time. Tried Chicken, Lamb, noodles and veggie bowl. Added the condiments which I like best — Kung Pao sauce, Lobster sauce, garlic, soy sauce and hot oil. I loved the final product. They do provide free cone ice cream!

Once again this place doesn’t fail to hit the spot. This place has been consistently excellent these past years. They have calamari and shrimp now with the bowls. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the little chips with the sweet and sour sauce. So tasty! For around $ 11 you can have an all you can eat meal. This place is great for a big man lol. Being 6’10 and 270 it’s hard not spending at least $ 20 for a fulfilling meal. I wish I had one of these closer to my school since I’m studying in the east bay. They also have a little ice cream machine that is awesome. Ice cream for days!!!

I used to frequent this place once a week a decade go. Unfortunately, I changed jobs and they fell off my rotation. Visited again and nothing has changed. Still delicious, friendly and cheap.

The sauces were under-flavored. They give you a basket of fried wonton skins, but no gyozas or rangoons, which is kinda disappointing. You get a big bowl of non-sticky white rice that you can serve yourself onto your… nonexistent other bowl? The soup was straight up gross; the texture was disturbingly viscous and it was more sour than hot. The sweet and sour sauce was equally as creepy in texture. It was a pretty basic Mongolian BBQ experience; I didn’t want my money back, so three stars for that. Weird experience, overall. Will not return.
