This mom and pops Chinese takeout stands out amongst its competitors in terms of pricing, consistency, and taste. Consistent. A quality one would try to uphold time after time. Ive only gotten takeouts from this location but the staple Chinese fast food I’ve tried have never failed to impress. Namely their Singapore Mei fun. Hands down the best curry rice noodles I’ve had, spicy with just the right amount of grease to bring out the flavors of the proteins. Their lunch specials remain super cheap. Good service is always a bonus.

It was uneventful. the person on the phone was a bit rushy. The food wasn’t so good either. I got BBQ boneless ribs and pork fried rice. The meat was all fat soaked in sauce and the rice was dry on one side and mush on the other.

Solid food, staff is not rude like a lot of places around here. Give it a try.

I have such mixed feelings about this place but I don’t want to lead with the reason why. First let me tell you what I like about it. It’s local, it’s on the small side but the food is good and they deliver. The staff is very friendly and accomidating to their customers. I came in a party of four for a quick meal and we tried the sweet and sour chicken(I’ll comment on this later), boneless spare ribs(best in the neighborhood), sesame chicken(average but decent) and fried jumbo shrimp with vegetable fried rice(crunchy and yummy). The food was ready within 20 minutes and we were all served at the same time. I didn’t expect the girl at the counter to bring it to us but she did. Most Chinese restaurants are self serve. She even opened our containers and placed them in front of the person who ordered. We also got a homemade ice tea and it was $ 1.50 for a large, easily enough to share. They even provided cups. They also threw in two free egg rolls because we ordered 4 meals. Everyone was happy with their food. We especially loved the boneless spare ribs. We all tried each others food. I really liked the way they prepared their vegetable fried rice, lots of peas and broccoli. They also offer the option of brown or white rice. While we were eating they checked on us to make sure everything was good and it was. Now I don’t know if this was a fluke or what the situation was but my son got sick a few hours later after we got home. I don’t know why but we are assuming it was the food. He ordered the sweet and sour chicken. No one else had an issue or got sick. It could have also been something else entirely so I feel bad taking it out on their rating because I am just not sure. I personally liked my food and didn’t have an issue so I am putting it down as 4 stars. We will however give them another try and if that changes I’ll be back to update my review. I really hope it wasn’t the food because this place was looking promising as my new go to chinese takeout spot. On our way out they thanked us immensely and gave us a menu to take home. They even cleared our table so we left them a nice tip. They were very gracious.

The food has been good every time I’ve been here. The lady who works here is very nice & friendly(she even offered me & another customer complimentary tea). They have a pretty large menu too.

One of the best Chinese take outs I’ve had. Can’t judge on their entire menu but their Singapore rice noodles hit the spot if you have a decent spice tolerance, lunch specials are very very affordable, service is always fast and efficient. Have ordered delivery and pick up for the past few years and this place has always been consistently good.

Lived here for years. Cant say its the best but its good enough cause they are fast and affordable and the people are hard working. They also have the best Singapore noodles in the area.

I was stuck in the area of Queens Hospital Center basically for the day so after my morning appointment I was on the quest for lunch. After looking at their selection of lunch specials, I chose hot and spicy shrimp. I was asked what kind of rice I wanted and since they did have brown rice I ordered the dish with that. The woman who took my order told me it comes with peas and carrots and if that was ok. I said it was fine. It was served in one of those take out Styrofoam containers, so even though I was eating in, if I didn’t finish I could take the rest out. It was plenty of food and very spicy, to the point my nose was running. Now I;m used to spicy food but this was spicier than most Chinese fast food I’ve had.

This is definitely the go to place for quick Chinese takeout if you live nearby. I love my stir-fried dishes with loads of broccoli and and other vegetables which they satisfactorily accomplished. I always order the usual. Chicken with Broccoli and I’m always left satisfied combining it with their Pork Fried Rice. In comparison to other Chinese takeouts, their dishes are less greasy.

I usually order from China Star but sweet garden was slighlty cheaper. The food was ok. However, the delivery guy so was rude! HE complained about the tip but he took over an hour to deliver the food and I live basically 10 minutes away if that. I mean he should not have acted that way. Anyway, the food was ok, I was not too fond of the crab rangoon because it had carrot in it. Portions were pretty big.

awesome and cheap food. their prices are 15 – 50 cents cheaper than the other chinese restaurants nearby and they still give you the same amount of food!

This is my favorite chinese take out restaurant in NY, by far. It is the only one that does not leave me feeling sick! They don’t use MSG, the staff is super friendly and the prices are beyond reasonable(especially for their lunch specials!) The actual restaurant is pretty small, but their takeout portions are monstrous, plan on putting some away or splitting it. Their steamed pork dumplings and crab rangoons are the best!

Food is pretty good… as well as the prices. Five dollar lunch specials. You also get a pretty large portion size. I definitely recommend this restaurant for take-out if you are in the mood for some Chinese.

sweet garden is a pretty decent chinese restaurant, they have all your basic chinese dishes and the ones i’ve tried are all executed very well. the shrimp fried rice is flavorful, yet not greasy. the crab rangoon, is an odd mix of what i think is cream cheese and imitation crab, at first its pretty weird but it starts to taste pretty good after a while. my favorite dish, cold sesame noodles are very spicy but aren’t «peanut buttery» if you know what i mean, they’re smooth, like they should be. i like the fact that everything is msg free and the staff is very polite. i wouldnt eat here considering its pretty cramped, but its swell for takeout.

I would often work from 9 — 5 and when i get hungry, i often order from a KFC nearby. However, recently, a friend took me to Sweet Garden, which I found to be a delight in a neighborhood of American fast food and small stores. The restaurant is pretty small(there are only four 4-people tables so there isn’t a lot of room for large crowds). One good thing about this place is that they don’t use MSG; they only use 100% vegetable oil. Another thing is that the people working there are extremely nice and you don’t have to wait too long for your food. They can also make American dishes(e.g. fried chicken wings, etc). The first time around, I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. I hated it. The chicken was burned and the fries were like the fries in middle school. I was not satisfied with the chicken sandwich and the fries and will never order it again. This makes me a bit unease about their American dishes menu but many of the customers I have seen have ordered the chicken wings with fried rice and they have said that it tastes good. Maybe I should sample those chicken wings and fried rice. In any case, I decided to come back to try their Asian menu and settled for some roast pork fried rice. I found it fairly decent; nothing magnificent. I ordered a pint of fried rice and they overflowed the box with rice. When I looked at the meals that the other customers bought(often a package of rice/vegetables/chicken), the amount of food looks a lot and overflowed the box itself! The people working there give you a lot of food so don’t go there unless you are really really hungry or willingly to share with a friend; otherwise you will have lots of leftovers. Furthermore, they can cook for large and small parties in addition to free fast delivery!

In one of the«coming of age» books, The Agony of Alice, the protagonist Alice faces a litany of issues: her menses, wearing a bra, boys, and a birthday party in a Chinese restaurant. She faces a conundrum when confronted with a dish of Moo Shu pancakes. Lost, she takes one and holds it, thinking it’s a warm towel. But no! Moo Shu pancakes are like a variation on the tortilla, or crêpe, into which you add a whole bunch of yummy vegetables and sauce and roll and smoke — okay, not smoke, eat — it. I usually get the vegetable Moo Shu order when I’ve had a really long night of classes and have a hankering for take out. One order comes with a generous amount of vegetables — broccoli, leafy greens, mushrooms, onions, et al. — saturated in sauce, moo shu pancakes, and rice. No matter your gluttony, you will not be able to finish it on your own, so split it with a hungry roommate. They also don’t use MSG, which is nice, like the people who work there.
