Ordered a cheesecake slice with my boyfriend today. We probably took a total of 4 bites and had to toss it out. The cake was super dry and tasted like flour. I was extremely disappointed. First and last time coming here.

This place is a deli, but they have great Dominican meals available. We had the crispy pork, stewed beef, soursop drink, along with some cookies, all great.

I really don’t know what these OTHERS were eating but I know I will not eat or recommend this food establishment to Anyone. The food displayed looked dried out and old. I wanted and ordered their Empanadas and all they had was chicken… The Empanadas were HARDAS A ROCKANDSUPERDRIEDOUT. I DON’T CAREWHAT I Pay for the food I desire but it must be Edible!!! Never again. Must be family members writing the Pro reviews or people with iron stomachs…

comparing to the other South American spots I’ve tried its average, but the ladies behind the counter are very sweet and the lunch specials are cheap. I had the chicken stew with rice and beans, cause they ran out of beef stew. It was def worth it for being $ 6. Also tried their chicken empanada, not all that.

I love this place! Everything«Zoilita» busts out from the kitchen is a home run. So much so the local construction dudes, EMTs, cops, medical workers frequently try to beat each other there for the fresh– from-the-kitchen lunch. Rice & beans & pernil/lechon is the bomb & so’s the chicken stew. Awesome!

OK, let’s get right to it. Looking for Spanish food and came across this place. First time I went here was around 6pm. We were ordering for around 5 people, and halfway through the order, they ran out of rice. She said she was cooking another pot and it would be around 15 minutes. This was after we had started the order and half of it was packed. Then we tried to order side dishes. They were out of plantains and yuca. We took what we had and just left, feeling bad that she had already packed 3 dishes so far. That was disappointing, but we decided to give it another try since the food we did eat, was good. Last night we decided to order again BUT this time I called in advance. It was around 6pm again(dinner time lol). I asked if they had roasted chicken, and they said they were out. I asked if they had chicken stew and the woman said that they were out of chicken completely. It wasn’t like it was closing time. Maybe they only make a certain amount for the day and whatever lasts is what they have. Maybe it’s better to go at lunch time because its a very limited selection by dinner time. I can’t understand this, being that they are open for dinner hours. Anyways hopefully this can help someone out. If you’re going to order or go to this place, make it early.

I’m super sad, I was craving«stewed chicken» and couldn’t find any menu online from this place even though Unilocal said this place delivered. When I called they only spoke Spanish. My high school spanish only took me so far…“Lo siento me espanol es no bueno.“ It’s authentic spanish food and the reviews of this place seemed great, someone get this place on to the worldwide web! Queens is an ethnically diverse place but I can’t get food delivered to me!

Walked in finally… after working right by it for 5 years. Great lil Dominican dive. I’ve had there Dominican cake many times at work functions. Today I said– lemme try the hot food & see how it goes. I went for the stewed chicken w yellow rice & peas…$ 6. It was pretty good, & I only ate half of the portion. They gave me a leg & a breast, pretty decent size. It is filling. They have a good menu, with a few popular dishes & soups. There desserts all looked great as well. Will definitely be back soon because I love spots that remind me of good home cookin’.

How else to celebrate the passing of a professional certification exam than something sweet? Something decadent for someone who has always believed in me — emotionally and financially? Yes, I just traveled back from the land of prolific sweets — the Maison Kayser, the Chocolate Bald Man, the Lady M… and of course, Mr. Ansel, the Renaissance man of the year. With so much varieties and high quality choices at my disposal, why resort this special occasion to a small, unpretentious bakery located in the ‘desert’ of Queens? That’s because I believe in supporting family businesses and also because I knew carrying cold-sensitive dessert would yield to a puddle of sugar by the time I arrive home. I’ve passed by this Dominican food shop quite a few as I make Rite Aids purchases nearby. But with the popular choices of pernil and other meat-heavy dishes, it is not a place that is diet friendly to me. But than again, there’s desserts. While they source the cheesecake and carrot cake from outside, do try out the Dominican cake, flan, and tres leches. The sweet, sweet lady confirmed that these three are all made on premise and she recommended the cake and tres leches to me. But when I pushed for a less tooth-aching one, she narrowed it down to the tres leches. Made with three types of dairy(whole milk, evaporated milk, and condensed milk), the generously sized vanilla cake sits in a pool of condensed milk, continuously soaking in the creamy bath of dairy, topped with a film layer of whipped cream for an additional touch of decadence. The cake becomes like a sponge, so it is best eaten with a spoon to scoop up the moistened crumbs and if you ever so desire, drink up the excessive milk on the bottom. At $ 3, it is a steal, especially it could totally be shared, that is, if you are willing to ‘spoon’ over some to your sugar in crime. Surprisingly, it is not heavy despite made from three dairies. Definitely a decadent way to load up your protein of the day. This shop is closed on Sundays. Hey, it is a family business, so they got to take a rest day, which is well deserved.

This is a nice little Dominican bakery in the neighborhood, and they have food, including some pretty good empenadas. Fairly inexpensive and good eats, I’m always happy to get a plate of pernil and rice and beans when I can. The only reason I don’t get food from here more often is because they are sometimes unable to deliver, and they close fairly early. Other than that this place is just fine for what it is. A-Ok in my book!

Great portions and tastes great! No complaints! My favorite is the beef stew. It falls apart. It also isnt expensive and is in a great location. I made all the people at my job love it.
