Girl at cashier was very miserable and half asleep, ordered 4 chicken plates and 2 orders of sushi. Before getting my food the girl asks for my receipt and takes it. When I get home I’m missing 1 plate of chicken and rice and one plate of sushi. I payed for 35 dollars of food only got 20 dollars of food. Didn’t have enough food to feed my kids and I was robbed of 15 dollars. Didn’t have a receipt so didn’t have a case. Will never eat here again and will tell all friends to avoid this place

The only other Sarku location I’ve been to is the one in Roosevelt Field Mall. I like it there for what it is: simple and tasty chicken teriyaki. The lines there are always long, which is a good sign. I always pass by the Flushing location on the adjacent highway but never give it a second thought. Finally, I decided to try it out. Their menu is simple. I opted for their classic chicken teriyaki with extra chicken and mushrooms. I also tried their spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll. I had high hopes for the chicken and not so much for the sushi. It turns out my expectations were very closely met by the quality of these dishes. The chicken was tender, marinated in a tasty sauce over a bed of steamed rice and some vegetables. The tastes were consistent with the quality of the long island location. The sushi was average. I enjoyed the shrimp tempura more than the spicy tuna. I didn’t have high hopes anyway. Just thought I might give them a try. While the price of the chicken teriyaki is very reasonable, I thought the sushi prices were rather high for the quantity provided. What would have been a 3.5 star rating is bumped up to a 4 due to the service. The lady taking orders was very efficient and friendly, as were the cooks and the other workers preparing the orders. Being that the location is very convenient for me, I will return. Next time, maybe I will order sushi, or maybe not. But I will definitely stop by again when I am craving chicken teriyaki.

I came here lots of times before, so I just decided to write a review. I ordered the chicken terriyaki with white rice and vegetables, with a side order of dumplings. The food came pretty quickly. The restautant is roomy, so you can find a seat easily. The food was just delicious. I would reccomend people to eat here for a quick meal or lunch.

The chicken teriyaki is pretty good. The noodle is a bit dry, if they can stir fried it with some vegetable, it would taste a lot better. But I can’t complain, for the price I pay it is still worth the visit. Quite convenient location for the movie goers. It is just right across from the theater.

The lady behind the counter was very Nice. The place is somewhat clean. They have a «A «rating. If you don’t Ask for extra chicken you barely get anything. I ordered an chicken and shrimp with Fried rice(double meat), a order of shrimp tempura(3 pieces), California roll(very small pieces and wasn’t that fresh) and my husband ordered half noodle and half Fried rice with chicken(no double meat) and he hardly had any chicken. You could literally count the pieces of chicken. We also ordered 2 Snapple and in total my bill came up to be $ 30 and in change. Kinda expensive but, never the less I will be definitely returning back to this location if I’m in the area.

Best Japanese food in the entire borough! I’m in the area almost every other week, and visit this place every time. Their chicken bento box is out of this world, parking is never an issue, and their prices are surprisingly cheap. Service can sometimes be an issue with some of the employees not understanding english, but other than that, the place is great.

I believe this is a chain. Nothing special. Got their usual chicken teriyaki with their noddle and it was decent. My husband got the fried rice with his shrimp teriyaki and the fried rice needs to improve. Their fried rice tasted like they just poured soy sauce on it Portion size could be bigger in my opinion. The lady behind the counter was friendly.

What better place for chicken teriyaki then Sarku Japan? The sauce they use on the chicken is amazing, I always ask for extra! Chicken, rice, and vegetables, all for only $ 5.99. That’s a pretty reasonable amount to spend on lunch. Parking is a huge lot. Wait time varies depending on time of day but it’s not too long of a wait. Décor is alright. Cleanliness, I would say is fair for a fast food location. Prices are reasonable. I would say seating is good for a fairly large group.

Why did I do this to myself, welcome too fast food gone wrong. The fried rice was super oily and the veggies were tasteless. The best way to describe my chicken and shrimp teriyaki dish is hospital food meets Asian cooking. What was missing was the jello!

Yea I am so happy that $ 6.99 Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box is still available. Second time getting the bento box at this location and I got a separate order of Chicken Teriyaki with extra sauce that makes a difference *hubba hubba*! The aroma was making me *drools* and I couldn’t wait to devour my Bento Box. I am usually a beef«mooooooooo» kinda of girl but their Chicken Teriyaki is so damn good.

I normally like Sarku, but I wasn’t a fan of this one. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Lo mein like I normally do, it didn’t taste as good. It was dry and had like no flavor.

Friendly service without the mall line. Chicken teriyaki is awesome. I decided to try the deluxe bento box, it was worth it. Nice combo.

Sushi rolls are tiny. Miso soup is tasteless. Seaweed salad portion is also very small. All this at Manhattan prices. They also charge $ 1.49 for Green Tea. If you must eat here I’d stick with the Teriyaki. Window displays an «A» but the place is filthy.

This is one of my go-to places for food when I have no idea what I want to eat. The restaurant is relatively new and so still looks very clean and near. The staff is pretty friendly and there is hardly ever a long wait time. There is not much decorations and the place looks mostly like a Chinese take out with a few tables. They serve chicken teriyaki, bento box, and sushi. I only tried the chicken teriyaki(usually with double meat) because that is what they are known for. I am not sure how fresh the sushi is and do not believe they cut it on the spot so I would not trust it…

Popular place. The line almost went out the door. Came here in hope for a quick meal, but ended up waiting for a long time because the manager does not know how to coordinate the staff to work efficiently. The chicken teriyaki is good so can’t really go wrong if you order this. I should’ve chosen brown rice over noodle because the noodle came out too oily and greasy. I also made the wrong choice of ordering the tofu and veggie dish because they ripped me off by giving me just a few pieces of tofu and a few strands of veggies. What the heck? Now, the BEST choice was my friend’s order of SALMON shashimi.. oh my GOSH, it had such a buttery taste that melted in my mouth instantly! What a frseh cut of salmon. Ironically, I think I’m going back just for the SALMON shashimi lol: LicksLIPS:

The inside of Sarku looks like any other fast food place. On a tuesday night, it was busy. There were almost 20 people sitting inside. I ordered a bentu box. The menu is confusing and I had no idea there were sushi combos until I saw a sign on the wall. Why? So I missed out on the actual sushi. Also, there are no descriptions of specialty rolls on the wall or menu. Why? I would have liked to have had a less confusing way of figuring out my options.

The thought of Sarku as a restaurant kind of made me giggle. As a mall food court staple, the idea of a sit down place seemed silly. Personally– eating it outside of a mall almost seemed sacrilegious, but I digress. Here we have Sarku. My experience was as expected. «Chicken and rice, double meat a go. Soda, regular sized. Yes I’ll have vegetables.» I’m happy to report that it tastes just as good outside the mall as it does inside. However I’m sad to report that the double meat portion was a bit lacking– it didn’t seem as much as you would get at any mall Sarku.(Yes, I may compare it to the mall a few more times.) The Bento Box was fine, no complaints there except– the«California Roll» it came with did look quite pathetic. One interesting thing on the menu is the Chicken Teriyaki«sushi». It’s just chicken, rice, and seaweed. Definitely a fun item to try! The counter girl was friendly and the seating area is pretty big and clean. The area where they make the food is pushed back from the counter, so you don’t really get a chance to watch them cook. Although I gave them 4 stars, I was wrestling to give them 3 because I burned my tongue with their scalding hot serving of Miso Soup. Of course as a seasoned soup eater, I took all the precautions I should in soup eating prep. But the soup was truly at a temperature way too high. I had finished my meal and it was still scalding hot. Never got to eat it after my tongue was burned, so I have no rating on its flavor, etc– but definitely be very careful when you order it. Besides the physical injury I incurred, I enjoyed my food and I’m glad Sarku is trying to make a mark outside the malls. This location is not exactly easily accessible, but worth a stop if you’re craving that chicken and rice.
