This place is the best skewer place in flushing. The meats are fresh. It can get very busy here so u have to come early.

I went here last night and it was my first and perfect time because it’s so cold outside. A friend bought us here and he said it was awesome, so we decided to give it a try since I love the street cart lamb bbq skewers. This was something new to me. We did the BBQ our selves, which it was fun. Since this is famous for skewers we only did the skewers and nothing else. The beers has a decent price $ 4/bottle. The skewers came in 4 – 10. We ordered 2 lambs(20sticks), 2 beefs(20sticks), 2 fish tofu, 1 chicken gizzard, 2 chicken wings(3 wings on each stick), 2 pig skins, and 3 – 4 bowls of rice for the table of 4. The dumplings and some korean dishes was on the house, which was awesome and yummy!!! This place is best for a group of 2 – 5, a cold night, late night after drinking or feeling hungry. Please consider going home after eating this or drinking then that’s will be okay because you will smell like BBQ!!!

Looking to expand our Flushing restaurants, we came upon Ming Xing BBQ. The food is a blend of food from the border of China & Korea. The food was great, no frills, and grilling our skewers ourselves. Ordered: Mapo Tofu, Braised eggplant, Cumin lamb, gizzards, and squid skewers. All the above was $ 50. quite a good deal. The skewers sat over lump charcoal that we happily turned ourselves. That was a nice touch. Avoid Northern Blvd’s insanity and come here where the parking is easy breezy.

Ming Xing BBQ is one of those restaurants that fly under the radar in Flushing. In fact, we only found it because our first choice restaurant had closed down. Also, I’m pretty sure the existing customers would like to keep this place a secret. The line for a table is already long enough! Ming Xing BBQ is where you take your friends who say they would like to try Flushing street food but are terribly afraid of buying food from off the carts. Ming Xing serves similar bbq sticks like the ones on the street. It’s pretty cool, a different spin on KBBQ. This fire pit on the table is like a full on bbq grill with charcoal and all. Watch out for the flames because they will cook your meat in no time. For extras, get dumplings and quail. So far every dish we have ordered has been excellent. You can also adjust your own spices on your bbq. This restaurant is suited for small groups at its best. Tables are good for 4 — 6.

One of the best late night grubs in the area. Food here definitely tastes better when you’re already drunk or planning to drink there(they have soju, beer, makouli). I’ve been here over five times now, and what keeps me returning is the friendly service and yummy skewers. My friends and I usually feast on the lamb, beef, and fish tofu skewers… but if you are more adventurous, there are loads of other body parts(animal) to try. The décor isn’t much… but it’s one of those low-key places where you just have a good time and play funny drinking games over fatty skewers. Come here late at night preferably 11:30−1 for a guaranteed good experience.

The best pork chops in the WORLD! They are sweet and perfectly crispy. The best ones I’ve ever had. This place is a hidden gem on Farrington. They have very good beef sticks, and there are dumplings on the house.

Food was okay. The skewers are much bigger than the ones you’ll find in the skewer carts all over flushing. The Mapo tofu was really good, but i would advise you to eat it with rice or else it’ll be too spicy and salty

Came here with a friend today because you don’t see too many restaurants where you can cook your own skewers. But it was the worst experience ever! Don’t ever come here. The place is really shady and dirty and the workers are unsanitary. The food was pretty bland even though they give you spices to put on. Waste of money.

I usually don’t write reviews but this one was really bad. Apparently you have to order 2 sets in order to cook yourself. I mean really? I came here for the experience. If they were just gonna cook it for us then I would have just went to one of the carts on main st. Mind you I ordered 1 set before hand. And I’m ordering my second round. if I can give no stars I would

Second time here and it was the worst. If I can give no stars I would. When I came the first time i liked that we can cook ourselves but this time I felt like I was being rushed. The meat is crap. And they’re cheap with their coal. You can probably get better flavors at one of the carts. Save yourself the trip and don’t come here. Ugh

Let me first start by describing the outside, as it is the first thing any customer would see. Outside of the place there were workers sitting on the steps and smoking, and I had to say excuse me to get though. As I was getting seated I tripped over a metal stand they attempted to tuck away. As for the food it was not as flavorful as it would be. I ordered beef kabob and I felt the kabob stands in Main Street flushing were better quality. Service was terrible, because there was only a few customers there and I seemed to be ignored. I would not come back or recommend this place.

***If you don’t speak Chinese Mandarin forget about coming to this place.*** We entered the place, the worker in front ignored us. As we tried to get his attention and finally did he gave us a dull deer-in-headlight look and just looked around and said«no room»(I’m guessing from his lack of trying of communication). We asked of how long the wait was with no reply but a look of annoyance from the worker. As we’re slowly stepped back and left, he gave a relief of his duty of even trying to help.

Whoa this place is a like a korean chinese fushion. You could easily have a skewer fest here. The menu is pretty extensive. The minimum about of skewers range from 5 — 10 depending on the kind of meat you’re getting. They also offer a bunch of ban chan(korean side dishes) for free with your meal. Tea and cold water is provided as well. My only complain is that you can mix the types of meat even if they’re the same price. I wish there was more liberty in this so I could try more varieties instead of eating a vast amount of the same thing. I guess this place makes it more suitable for groups. It would allow you to try more meats. The meats are slightly higher than what you pay at the skewer carts in Flushing/Chinatown/8th Avenue. For good reason though, the meats seem to be more tender than what I’ve had at the carts. This place makes for a great dinner or lunch, definitely not so much a snack since you could have a full blown meal from all this meat in addition to the banchan. They offer cooked dishes too if you don’t fancy meat skewers. I think the owners are Chinese but they do provide Korean dishes. Beware of items running out if you come late at night, I had to modify my order a few times because the meats were sold out for the day.

Simple but good. They bring you meat on sticks and you book them at the table. For those that don’t like the interactive dining experience and rather have your food cooked for you, this isn’t the place for you. This is very traditional northern chinese food and definitely reminiscent of my childhood experiences. You gotta go for the lamb and if you’re in the mood they have anything ranging from intestines to arteries as well. In my experience their sauteed dishes are just ok and I would stick with the kabobs in the future.

Food was great! I had so much fun cooking my own skewers! I went with my bf and ordered 10 lamb &10 beef skewers(which was more than enough for both of us) $ 14.99 for 10. The meat was lightly marinated so that you could season your meat according to your taste. Unique restaurant! They also gave us free service of steamed dumplings, which was nice! :)

Cooking with sticks, meat and fire dates back to our ancestors so maybe that’s why we love it so much. This restaurant will be a new favorite for any street food foodie as Ming Xing specializes in bbq skewers. Skewers are cheap considering its the same prices as the street cart’s. 10 skewers of beef, lamb, or chicken cost $ 14.99 while other meats vary in prices. The menu language friendly as it has Chinese, Korean, and English. The meat is lightly marinated so you can adjust your own flavors. You can tell how legit the place is because they use wood charcoal on top of the charcoal briquettes. This adds a unique smokey flavor that you can’t get from just grilling on regular coal. The fire intensity is controlled by the knobs on the side of the grill. Steel sticks also allow the meat to be cooked more evenly. Each diner will receive a plate of premade seasoning mixture of chili powder, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and sesame seeds. If you need something more to fill your stomach, they have other food options like dumplings 水餃($ 10.00), soups, and various cooked meat, seafood, and vegetable dishes. Ming Xing BBQ is one of the few do it yourself BBQ skewer restaurants trending around Flushing. These are the perfect places to relax with friends and have a drink and best of all, your clothes won’t smell because they have good ventilation. The skewers here are as authentic as any BBQ cart and the food taste so much better knowing that you put your own labor into it. For more info and pics, visit:

Despite the very few reviews Ming Xing has, the place was packed on a chilly Saturday late evening. This is the place for hungry locals and tipsy Flushing hangouts alike(or in our case, a mainly non-Queens group of friends who were not impressed by the food festival held at Corona-Flushing Park). The crew here can speak Mandarin and English, but their preferred language seems to be Korean(very cool, very Flushing). Here, you can get your fix for various meat skewers, a free plate of dumplings, and probably one of the more impressive dishes: chili flakes/cumin encrusted lamb ribs! Be sure to drink lots of water and/or canned herbal tea as you will need it. Do not come here with parties larger than 6, and do expect a wait. Something else you should expect is the pleasantly small bill; like most restaurants in the area, the food is authentic and cheap.

Wonderful! Thankfully I went with friends that did the ordering… as you can see from the photos below we might as well’ve been in the woods barbecuing with the amount of meat we ordered: beef, lamb(the best), squid, pheasant and roasted garlic. More sardines and kimchi please! I just could not get enough… will be back!

How the F does this place only have 1 review and it’s not 6 stars? Holly BBQ this place is BOMBS. so bombs that from here after, I’m going to downplay it in fear of the foodie fools hyping this place up and making it impossible for me to get my own personal Street meat grill at a table. Prices seem a little on the high side because they give you about 5 – 10 skewers for each order, depending on what you get. If you don’t want to grill your own meat, don’t go here(duh). Or if you don’t like smelling bbq in your hair for the next hour(not gonna lie, I love it) then don’t go here. Even when I burned the meat, it was delicious. I especially loved the shrimps(mad Asian with the heads intact) and the beef. Skip the pork short ribs, there are bones in it which are just kind of weird. I can’t wait to go back here because I didn’t try everything I wanted to try. Oops, I mean this place sucks don’t go here. Don’t go here!!! I already had to wait 45m for a table the first time, so yeah… Just don’t go here.
