This is your casual, Korean drinking spot done right. The food is pretty on point and the price is just right. Came here to catch up with some friends and though the space is pretty tight with the oil drum cut out table/grills, and overall ambiance that would leave most of my non Korean friends asking«really? this place?», but we left with satisfied bellies and some money left over for round 2 of the nights debauchery. Parking can be a challenge in that area but if you find a spot hurry on over and dive in

Came here right when it opened at 4pm. Service was fast, the meat was delicious and plenty for two, and the side dishes were more unique than your typical chain Korean restaurant. Large egg and soup. The salad had some kind of wasabi kick which was awesome. Plus at the end they gave us complementary oysters! Music is awesome too, cool place to hang out.

This is my go-to Korean charcoal BBQ in Queens, for some reason I remember them by an ancient Chinese warrior’s name but I realized they either changed the name or they had a nickname. Anyway, their steamed pumpkin with ribs is probably on my NYC’s Top 10 list, it’s a whole Japanese pumpkin sliced and steamed to perfection, topped with Deobboki(Korean rice cake), onions, and a sweetened gravy, the textured of the mushy pumpkin and the chewy ribs go together so well that I’ve had two and I could go for another! We usually order the seafood combo, you get plenty, add a few more beef dishes if you have a large party, which I generally prefer to go with to try different types of meat. The interior is very casual, you pretty much sit around a rusty metal round table on top of a gasoline barrel, the round stools are those things you can find at local dollar stores, but it’s fun. They play good music and I love the vibe, service is ok but they can only serve you so much, I’m not gonna ask for more. One time they sang and danced for my friend’s birthday, and the guests there would participate too. I’d love to have soju and eat my BBQ there. By the way, their tofu soup is really, really, really good.

Decided to try this place after reading the reviews on Unilocal. It’s more of a Korean drinking place blasting K-pop the entire time rather than a traditional Korean BBQ place so it’s more for young people. We ordered the thick pork belly and seafood combo #1. The pork was decent and nothing special from the standard pork belly. The seafood was very fresh, especially the clams, and really good value for the price. One order consist of 8 – 10 shrimp, king crab legs and bunch of middle neck and mussels for only $ 45. The waiters cooks everything for you at the table but the taste gets a little boring after a while. Another thing is that this place don’t really give you any small appetizers like traditional Korean places. The appetizers we got include the steam egg, mix salad, clear mussel soup and kimchi. Overall, a pretty decent and different place with great value. I recommend you come with a least a group of four so you could order a bigger variety.

Wow, this place really felt like I was in Korea. Parking is annoying, especially at night, but we were lucky and found one right in front of the restaurant. We just stopped by for some makchang, booldak, and beer. The makchang($ 23) was really good. Though I love makchang, I can never tell when it’s safe to eat, so it was nice to have the server cook, cut, and let us know when it was ready. One con was that portions were pretty small :(Next time, I think we’ll just order 2 servings. The booldak(fire(?) chicken)($ 18~) was pretty good. Not spicy at all. Portions were pretty big! Rice and kimchi are given if you ask. I liked the egg and mussel soup they give out. The steamed oysters were pretty good, too. The atmosphere is identical to a typical little bar in Korea. A lot of people seemed to be eating the clams and some sort of seafood steam, so we’ll try that during our next visit.

It is a hidden gem, tucked in a small street but the place has its own charm. Wait staff is courteous and helpful. The food was served quickly and the way they cook the meat is mesmerizing. They were nice to give me complimentary crab and oyster. The meet taste so good, some parts have tendon but overall it is really good. They open till 6am, music is loud but tolerable. Will definitely be back!

Sorry guys, This place was ok. We came here for my girlfriend’s birthday and ordered one of the seafood options, i think 45 dollars, and two of the kalbi and pork. I am vegetarian so whatever, I didn’t have the meat. But she seafood was ok, the clams were pretty nice in size, but ok. The cheese on the scallops, NO! The butter on the shrimp and the plastic-like taste of the«crab» HELLNO! The only thing I really liked was the salad, and the clams. Uh… Yep! Have fun peoples!!!

Hot Damn! This place is a must try if you want fresh clams. I came here with a couple of friends and we ordered the mak chang(cow intestine), soon du bu, and steamed clams with various seafood. The mak chang was so tasty, crispy, and had just the right amount of fat. There’s a dipping sauce but I prefer to eat it plain. It was so good that you really don’t need any additive flavor. Their steamed clams was fresh and juicy. But please wait for a minute before eating it. I kind of burned my fingers because I couldn’t wait to eat it. Overall, my belly was satisfied and I will be back for more!

One of the staple places to go if you are in Murray Hill train station area. Although it has lost its ‘spark’ a bit from when it first opened its doors, it still has that nostalgic atmosphere second to none in this area. I had fun times in this places and i get reminded of them whenever i swing by.

Have been here a few times, came back yesterday. They used to have a really great deal called the F4 combo; it was king oyster mushroom and a variety of meats. Not around anymore, it was $ 25! It doesn’t seem to have the same umpf it used to. Got the seafood combo, it’s a big platter where they grill it out. It’s different and certainly a cool experience but I’d put more weight on experience than taste. The pork jowel is good but pricy. For $ 22, you’re paying about $ 2.00 per slice. it is pork. The best thing here IMO is the buldak or fire chicken with cheese. It’s incredibly tender but it is spicy, hence the name. If you’re in the area, it’s a cool place to check out.

Went searching for grilled clams for my last two birthdays, tried the other one that Anthony Bourdain went to but didn’t leave impressed so Unilocaled and find this joint. We ordered the seafood platter(clams, shrimp, crab, mussels and scallops), galbi(one of the best i’ve had), seafood pancakes and their king pan fried dumplings. Everything was delicious, i thought we over ordered but i was wrong, we did a good job of finishing and even managed to have a bowl of their mussel soup that was on the house. All of us left with happy stomaches. The restaurant is sort of out of the way, esp for those living in the city but we will def be back. We left the restaurant raving and praising our meal. For those that said they felt discriminated and received bad service, we had a completely opposite experience. The waiters were extremely helpful and friendly, not your typical rushed korean restaurant experience. They barely left our table as they were busy preparing and grilling our food. We also had a nice mix in our group — asian, persian, latin and african american and the service was amazing which added to our enjoyment. Watch out for the soju though… while having a fun time with great food, friends and ambience, the factory alcohol as our waiter put it will go down too easily…

I used to love this place! Came here a lot for the seafood BBQ platter. But today’s experience completely threw me off. First, all seafood couldn’t get cooked at the same time. So we had to eat one kind of seafood at a time(I really don’t know what’s the point of ordering a platter if you can’t even enjoy all of it at once). Second the clams, the scallops ect nothing tasted juicy and fresh like how it used to be. It was very tasteless I can almost say it’s not that fresh. I really hope I don’t get sick from this! Prays I don’t think I’ll be coming here anytime soon. Maybe I’ll give it another try sometimes next year bec this used to be my fav place. lol but today’s food really made me sick to my stomach :/
