Really good food and excellent service. The owner is very thoughtful and kind. The masala dosa and the rasam idli were yummy!

Really great dosa in flushing! Dosa comes warm fresh with hot sambar and coconut chutney! Finger lick worthy! Service is great! It’s located right by the mandir! Also bus service is right by there and many people come for other snacks as well. Definitely worth a try!

Woke up with a major dosa hankering, so i road the 7 train from start to finish, and wandered over. An hour and a half later, sitting in restaurant, hangry af. This is definitely one of the better special rava masala dosas iv had. The rava is rather cheap, but its 8 bucks and the most expensive dosa on the menu so its all value. The masala is really great. Really impressive coconut chutney, maybe the best ive ever had in a restaurant. And we’re talking about 25 years of dosa eating. Thats why this place gets 5 stars. I also had an idli vada. It may sound cheap at 3 bucks but they only give you one idli, which is hilariously absurd. That being said its soft and fluffy. Excellent. All in all really good, it satisfied my craving. All the ingredients are legit, the flavors are on point. I even grabbed some samosas and muruku to go. Two things i have to add tho. my dad would probably refuse to eat at this place b/c of the styrofoam plates. And also he’d be pretty appalled to get only one idly, thats ludacris to him. So if my family came to the area to go to the ganesh temple next door, im likely to suggest we eat there instead. But dont let that deter you.

Found this place and thought it was really good. I’m a big fan of dosa and it is right on point. Lots of locals and Indians frequent this place as well. Usually they know what’s up

I LOVE this place and go weekly to get my dosa fix. The staff are always super smiley and welcoming. But the best part is obviously the dosas. My favorites are the masala dosa(crispy thin paper dosa with a spicy potato filling) and the tomato, onion, cheese utthapam dosa which is a thick pancake-like dosa with mozzarella cheese on top. It’s like a tasty pizza pancake. Also the mango lassi is TODIEFOR! Prices are very reasonable. I always end up getting an extra dosa to-go for the next day’s lunch.

Food quality and taste has gone south since I rediscovered this place. I don’t know why Indian restaurants don’t remain consistent. My new go to place for dosa is Mumbai express.

It was THEWORSTINDIANFOODTHAT I EVERHAD!!! I always enjoy dosas. I tried all kinds of them, but it was never this UNTASTY! We ordered masala dosa, pondicherry masala dosa, spinach masala dosa and veg. Tali. All food was bland, overly seasoned and lack of taste was covered by the amount of green chili that they put in their dosas. I had nothing against this place, but I regrat that every penny that I left there, because it was not worth it! Sadly I had stomach ache on the way back. Never again!!!(I know much better places to find dosa in Queens).

Dosa hutt is a nice little South Indian vegetarian restaurant on the intersection of Bowne Street and Holly Ave, right next to the big Hindu temple. The food comes quickly, its all freshly prepared, mostly healthy and is incredibly cheap for New York City. Although probably not in the same league as a sarvanna bhavan, Dosa Hutt is hard to beat for its combination of quality food and low prices. For anyone that wants an authentic dosa experience without paying through the nose, this is a great place to start. The staff is always super friendly, you order at the counter and the food is ready for pick up within a few minutes. I usually have some variety of dosa when I go and have not been let down yet. I’d recommend getting it to stay because dosas lose their crispness quickly and probably won’t taste good at all if you get them to go, especially if you haven’t had one before. Sambar and chutney’s provided as accompaniments are also always excellent. They have a $ 15 card minimum which can sometimes be annoying because that means you have to get at least 2 or 3 things on the menu! But it doesn’t take away from the overall experience in any way. Honest, simple, delicious and unpretentious, definitely give Dosa Hutt a try if you are in the Flushing area.

I always dream of dosa hutt when I’m out of state and I’m craving something crunchy, warm, savory, spicy, and downright fulfilling. Like a previous reviewer said, it’s definitely a no frills place where efficiency and mouthwatering tastes run supreme. Bring cash unless you’re willing to spend the credit card minimum($ 15). If you’re a dosa purist, go get your plain dosa so that your dosa remains crispy and doesn’t get un-crispy fast because of the steaming potatoes. If you’re ready to get a little funky, get the masala dosa(not funky at all, but a little cooler than the plain dosa). Now if you’re really into spice, spice, and everything nice, seriously, LISTENTOTHECHORUSANDGETTHEPONDICHERRYMASALADOSA! Amazing. I haven’t tried the uttapam or the appetizers other than the veda and idlly combo(YUMANDYUM), but I seriously dream of the cilantro/coconut chutney from here. My boyfriend prefers the dosas from House of Dosa in Hicksville… but nah, he’s just wrong.

After having so meat during Thanksgiving, I decided to come here for some vegetarian food. I ordered their pondicherry dosa and the spinach and cheese dosa with potato. We also ordered a platter with rice. They food was so flavorful and the Dosas were nice and crispy. I especially loved their coconut chutney since I love cocnut. The sauce had a very strong coconut taste and had shredded or rather minced coconut meat. The Dosas were nice and crispy too. I personally like the spinach and cheese dosa more than the pondicherry. The pondicherry is basically filled with potatoes, onion and some small hot peppers. You should definately eat it with the coconut chutney because it helps with the after effect of the spiciness. The spinach and cheese isn’t spicy but was cheesy and reminded me of spinach artichoke. The platter was spicy too. There was rice and 3 small portions of dishes. It also came with a round flat bread that you can wrap or dip the dishes with. It was honestly too much food for 2 people. The 2 Dosas would actually be enough for 2 people, but I wanted to try more than that. The mango and yogurt lasi was good too. The lasi really helps with the spiciness. the price was also not too bad. Should definately give it a try if you are looking for some Indian food.

In the middle of a residential block, you will find a hidden gem. I eat the onion rava masal as well as the spinach and cheese masala. The crispy crêpe outside is the same for both, each plate comes with a green dipping sauce(not spicy at all) and a tomato soup that i doubled as sauce. My personal fave was the onion rava masalas, huge chunks of curry potatoes, mixed with raw onions wrapped in a thin crunchy shell. The flavors mesh so well together and tastes super authentic. The sit down area is low key and not fancy but definitely worth the visit. Throughout my meal, you can tell this shop is frequented by locals and is not americanized at all. Also, the man behind the counter that greeted us made the visit that much better, he explained the various types they had with a smile on his face.

I’ve been coming here for years and this place has always delivered a nice, relaxing, and delicious meal. It’s a quiet location, and nice for an afternoon snack or full lunch. I love hot foods, and the spicier items on the menu such as the Mysore Masala Dosa, or the Pondicherry Masala Dosa do not disappoint. Their coconut chutney cools your mouth right before the heat kicks in, and makes for a great hot/cold combination. One of the restaurants in Queens that I would personally recommend to anyone that’s looking for something not as touristy.

Their food tastes like vomit. Never again! My grandma and I got some food and we were disgusted. What was my father thinking when he took us here? And we like Indian food!!! EW

I don’t even know where to start when describing this wonderful place. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, if you want to know what’s vegan(which turns out to be a lot of the menu), if you don’t know anything about south Indian cuisine or if you want to know the levels of spiciness they’ll gladly answer all of your questions. It’s a rare and precious gem in an age of vast poverty when it comes to finding delicious(and cheap) vegan food. Back in my omni days this place showed me you could have an entirely vegetarian or vegan meal and not miss the meat at all… they’re simply that amazing. The dosas are delicious, the sambar and chutney are also delicious, I have yet to try other menu items but I’d be surprised if they were anything less than delicious. If you’re looking for a missing piece of your soul that can only be found in food form, this is the place to go.
