Darousos Gyro

I’ve only ever ordered delivery from them, and they certainly get the job done. Delivery is reasonably fast (especially considering I live on the outer edge of how far they probably deliver), and everything I’ve tried as of yet has been fresh. The portions are very generous. An order of sheftalia (my favourite item so far) as an appetizer can almost be a meal on its own. Get a platter and you’ll very likely have leftovers (go with the lemon potatoes, they tend to balance well with most of their main meat options). They’ll usually thrown in some stuffed grape leaves as well, which is nice. The salads barely deserve to be called salads, but they are fresh nonetheless. The sheftalia, souvlaki, gyro and bifteki are all decent, however the general trend seems to be that they are all overdone, and a bit tough to chew. Still, there’s a good deal of flavour here.

In my line of work I utilize a lot of caterers and Darousos is one of the best! I have used them to feed from 6 – 60 without any problems. Their gyro meat is always fresh and tasty. Their chicken and pork souvlaki is flavorful and cooked perfectly and their salads are fresh and crisp. For the quality of food they serve, they could charge a lot more and still get it.

It’s a nice place to sit down and eat. You can take your time or get it to go. The place has open patio windows which is nice for the summer.
THE SERVICE SUCKS!!! it’s family owned so the waitresses just don’t care if they make a tip or not!
It’s not my first choice, but it’s good enough if you’re in the area and don’t want a fancy place.

Absolutely love this place! cant say enough good things about it. Try the octopus. Its AMAZING.

Just got back from my first trip to Darousos. I loved the bright and clean décor, and the wall of windows that completely opened to the sidewalk. I was so pleasantly surprised they brought out a grilled veggie appetizer to us, on the house! It was a bit too salty, but I didn’t mind that much. The food we ordered was good: gyros and the lemon chicken soup. The soup was tasty, as I expected. I thought the fries were soggy, but my husband like ‘em. All in all, we were pleased with our meal and look forward to visiting again!

Its a stone’s throw from Fontana’s, Gyro World and literally next door to Mythos. On a Friday night, Darouso’s was completely empty while the other eateries were hopping with customers. Strange?
Ordered the buffalo wings appetizer and the grandma pizza pie. They brought out a plate of «6» ultra tiny wings over a bed of shredded lettuce with no celery or carrots. The wings had not even a hint of buffalo sauce, they were simply deep fried wings and I repeat. very small wings. The blue cheese dressing was a mystery… I really don’t know what it was other than it was very bland and if it was blue cheese at all.
The grandma pie was the worse pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was sponge-​like and soggy. The sauce was also very bland and dripping with oil. Here’s the best part… they gave us paper plates to eat an entire pie. By my third bite, my plate was completely soaked through and when I asked the waitress for a plate she brought back another paper plate. I can understand a paper plate for a single slice at your local pizza joint but we’re having a whole pie at a sit down restaurant!
If not for the friendly waitress this would have gotten a zero star. Do not go here for wings or pizza. You’ve been warned.
