Villa Appalaccia Winery

Best winery in VA! My husband and I love this place. The wine is impeccable and the atmosphere is too. Much better than the nearby but overrated château morrisette. Go!

You know what? I was super impressed with this place. Having enjoyed many wines from California and living in NOVA, I am used to some really great local wines. From my experience, the wines/​wineries near that part of VA/​NC are usually overly sweet and frankly not that great. BUT the wines at Villa Appalaccia were actually very good. We bought three bottles and sat outside with our cheese and crackers and enjoyed our hour with our family. The lady pouring was very friendly and informative and the property itself was very impressive. They had bocce to play and a good amount of places to sit and relax outside and also some seating inside. The view was beautiful and the prices were VERY reasonable. It is worth a visit.
