Handyman True Value Hardware

Handyman has been a fixture in north county for years. As the big box hardware stores have built stores almost in the shadow of this store, this store has remained viable. The reasons are simple, customer service, competitive pricing and most important of all experience. Their experience has saved me money time after time over the past years.
This review was prompted by my hot water heater going out over the weekend. I called Handyman and asked if they could get one installed for me the same day (cold showers suck!) They found a way to add me on to an already busy schedule and did it at a cost that was about half as much as the plumbing companies were quoting me to do the same job.
Important to note that they pulled the necessary permits, insuring me that it was done to code. The installer they sent had been with them for over seven years and his dedication was commendable. He was a professional in every sense of the word. Even went so far as to put a folding door back on its hinges.
Old fashioned customer service at a competitive price. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Excellent service! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and helped. We needed a socket wrench and the guy who helped us asked us questions to understand our needs and then directed us to the best buy for our budget. It was super fast service and he was extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciated that he directed us to the economical choice rather the most expensive item we could have bought. I’m glad we have such a great local hardware store. We’ll definitely be stopping here before going anywhere else.

Great service — always someone there to answer questions & point you to what you are looking for. Try getting that kind is service at the big box stores.

Awful Service. Rented equipment that was faulty then got CHARGED part of my deposit when I pointed out the flaws. Have spent thousands here over the years. Never again. Lost my business forever over $ 12.99.

They pretty much have anything you need that some of the big box stores wont.
They also have a kick butt rental department and its cheaper that the big box stores.
I usually only come here to rent but I do let myself get lost in the isles looking at all the interesting things I could be doing things with.
