Sun Valley Florham Park

I was a previous tenant at Sun Valley which is under the ownership of Middlesex management company. I dutifully paid my rent for three (3) years and never had a single complaint lodged against me.
Middlesex management portrays themselves as the provider of affordable luxury housing yet their housing is expensive and cheaply built.
They also have a maintenance crew that except for one member is mostly incompetent. Unfortunately the manager of the property has his son working for him who to describe him as lazy would be a compliment.
My first maintenance call was about the dryer that took three cycles to dry one load. It took three (3) visits to then change the dryer. It turns out it wasn’t really the dryer but the venting tube to the outside that was clogged with lint and could have caused a fire. This was discovered about 2 years later when the new dryer wouldn’t dry again. In the meantime I paid inflated gas bills for almost three (3) years due to this incompetency.
Also a refrigerator had to be replaced, once again three or four service calls and the same managers sin arguing that refrigerators run at 52 degrees.
Now we come to the topic of pet rent which seems to be a very shady practice of this landlord. I was charged a hundred dollars a month extra for my nine (9) dog. While other people paid nothing and had pets.
Last but not least once I informed the landlord I was leaving before the end of the lease thirty (30) days in advance they not only took my deposit but wanted to charge me rent for an empty apartment till the end of my lease. They also placed me in collection.
My advice to you is to avoid Sun Valley and any other property managed by Middlesex management. The 100 dollars you save on rent will cost you in the long run.
