My husband and mother ate there a week ago the food and service were excellent… a week later he took my father and the food was still very good quality and service was great steak was cooked to perfection. My husband and I just left there and could not have ask for any better food or service had the 14 ounce marinated ribeye and loaded back potato with the salad bar. If you have not tried this place I highly recommend it…

This joint is closed. And for good reason it was horrible.

Have I just been frickin pranked? I’d ordered a marinated ribeye. The first one out was raw. Just plain raw. I sent it back. Out comes Ribeye #2 with a wedge shaped chunk missing! Everyone knows what a properly cut ribeye(especially at a steakhouse) is supposed to look like… Thick, round, well marbled, and perfectly seared. This thing looked like packman. Come on people. Steakhouse? Sure. Welcome to Florence.

Having recently heard of Jack’s Place opening on our side of town, my family decided to try it out for dinner. Wow, what a mistake. I cannot remember the last time we had a meal this bad. Our party had the Yard Bird, the Ribs, the Ribeye, the«Famous all over the Pee Dee Hamburger steak, and an order of wings as an appetizer. Let’s start at the beginning: 1. The décor and ambiance is lacking. I felt like I was sitting in a shed out behind someones house. 2. The food– as I mentioned previously we had the wings as an appetizer. They were just chicken fingers covered in what looked to be Texas Pete. I could smell the heat on them. As in they burned my nose. They did not look very good, and my party was forced to use generous amounts of ranch in order to eat them. The menu didn’t specify that they would be so hot. The Hamburger steak looked like dog food, and apparently didn’t taste much better. The Ribeye had so much fat in it that it was difficult to eat. The yard bird was fine, nothing to write home about. The Ribs were the best thing, but no one would go back for them. The sweet potato fries were fine, we have had better, my baked potato did not look like it had been washed — in fact it looked like it came from Wendy’s. To sum up the food: It was low quality that they tried to cover by using lots of sauce and spice. 3. The service– I have most certainly had worse. The waiters were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items– the manager checked on us several time. The problem was not with the service. 4. Overall thoughts– The website says that Jack’s Place has been around since 1997. So I guess someone thinks the food is decent. They have recently added this location, but I have no idea how based on our experience. They don’t have a huge menu, so to me everything ought to be really good. Save your time and your money. If you want this kind of food, you are better off going to Chili’s or Applebee’s.
