This was the worst food… Started all thumbs up 5 stars… with the margarita on the rocks and the ceviche appetizer.” Then it went down hill from there… we ordered the Carne Asada which is usually a skirt steak in other Mexican restaurants but not here.: it was a full butterflied cut steak that was served/flopped on top of the side order of beans and shredded lettuce salad. Plate was too small the heat from the steak made the shredded lettuce and beans a wet mush… a soggy wet mess even the lime was a mess! Tortillas were flour and tasted like chalk! What a disappointment. Thank goodness it was $ 38.00 for 2 people.

My order was incorrect, waited for the order to be exchanged. I still did not receive my full order. There was no flavor in the food. Very dissatisfied, would not recommend.

I previously had a negative review on this La Nopalera location. But as I promised, I would remove the negative review with photos if they corrected the problem. Guess What? Problems have been corrected! Shredded beef quality is great again as they are receiving products from a different food vendor. The salsa has been very consistent for the last month or more too — plenty of flavor. We receive our chips and salsa quickly and silverware too! Glad they got the problems corrected. This La Nopalera used to be one of my favorite casual restaurants in Fleming Island — and now it is a fave once again. Keep up the positive improvements! Also, I can’t wait to see the new murals on the walls finished. It’s looking good so far.

I don’t know what all the complaints about service are about in these Unilocal reviews. I’ve eaten here many times and the service has always been perfectly fine. Better service than a lot of places in the Jacksonville area, to tell you the truth! If you receive less than stellar service here, it’s probably more about you than it is about them. As for the food, if you go in here expecting authentic regional Mexican cuisine, that is your second error. This is good old fashioned Tex-Mex cooking, nothing more, nothing less and it’s pretty darned good Tex-Mex at that. The prices are great(especially the lunch specials [that run until 5PM!]), they give you a ton and I’ve never had anything here that did not make me want to clean my plate. You can’t beat those giant, 32 ounce draught beers either. So… just go here, mind your manners, don’t be a jerk, know what to expect and you’ll have a great experience. The La Nope mini-chain is probably some of the best Tex-Mex the Jax area has to offer and of all the La Nopes, this one’s probably the best of them all.

The food is fantastic and I would go their almost every week but not anymore because we have been getting awful service some days weren’t too bad but came to the last straw when someone treated me like an idiot because I said that the thing I ordered was a lot smaller than last time. He kept saying that I should just order something else in a very harsh way.

Best Fajita’s and Fajita Nacho’s ever! The portions are huge and the Tejas Fajita’s are enough to share. Hardy portion of chicken, beef and shrimp on them. They also have really good Queso. Highly recommend!

Food is decent however service is lacking. We waited forever for our food and then had to wait for our silverware and then the tortillas. And in the end, we got charged an extra beer. Not coming back to this specific location. No bueno

Authentic Mexican food? NOT! The tortilla chips were good and fresh. It went downhill from there. The salsa was just ok. Our waiter acted like he couldn’t be bothered. I asked for lemon for my tea 3 times before he brought it. My husband ordered beef fajitas. The beef had to have been boiled before being put on the grill. Boiling meat gives it a certain texture and it is not appealing. He said the flavor wasn’t too bad. Spring onions were used which wasn’t what he was used to. I ordered a small beef taco salad. The beef had no flavor and it was the same consistency as Taco Bell’s…mush. Wish we could find a good Mexican place to eat. This is not it!

This place is a joke! The manage and staff are rude! The quality is far worse at this location for some reason.

D E L I C I O U S! Every item I have tried has been very good. The place can be busy and loud but they seem to work quickly to keep up with the orders. Their frozen margaritas pack a PUNCH so be forewarned.

Good food! But service could be better. Seems like somewhat under staffed some times. Overall great place to sit down, have a beer, and get some food!

Really slow service, had to get our own silverware and no help was offered. In my party of six five of us ordered combination meals/fajitas and were served after an aggravating wait. My girlfriend who only ordered a cheese quesadilla had the longest wait of us all and it wasn’t THESIMPLESTORDER! really dissatisfied and disappointed in my visit, la nop is normally my favorite place to go

I’ve been coming here for years! I do have to say it’s just not what it used to be. The salsa doesn’t have any flavor anymore. It’s like straight tomato sauce. It used to have loads of cilantro and such, which was so good, but no more. The beans are literally pure liquid. No exaggeration. So ‘liquidy’(I’m sure that’s not a word) you couldn’t eat them with a fork. It’s impossible. Like eating soup with a fork, if you know what I mean. It’s a shame, because it used to be our go-to a couple times a week, but not anymore. Not sure if management has changed or what, but this location is no Bueno. Hopefully they will read these reviews and go back to how it is used to be. I can only hope. In the meantime, I’m going to have to try some other places out to find something better. It’s a shame.

I have been coming here regularly for years, as well as the other locations. The food does not seem to be as good at this location as it is at the others. The last couple of times here the house margaritas seem to go up in price, and down on flavor. I realize that they are«house» margaritas, but they are just not as good anymore. We will probably stop coming to this location for a while and just go to the one on Kingsly. After watching waitress ignore us and her other tables for 10 minutes talking to a friend at the bar, I had to lower review to 2 stars.

Unfortunately this La Nop was a La Nope for me. The food quality was not up to par. The salsa was flavorless and had a murky coloration to it. There were flies flying around while we were trying to eat our meal which made me lose my appetite very quickly. Just not a good experience at all.

Great, cheap food(HUGE portions for the prices). I’ve usually had good experiences as far as service goes but when I’m paying this kind of money, I don’t mind a bit of waiting. The parking lot is disaster(it always has been) and they are very busy(seemingly all the time). A Jax classic and a great location.

Decent place to get Mexican food on Fleming Island. Service was good and the food was okay. I had the crunchy beef tacos. I would return.

There’s been mixed reviews on here, but every time I’ve ever been I have always enjoyed myself. For me, service has always been really fast whether it was crowded or not. It seemed to be a little slower as soon as they opened, probably because they have less people on staff when they open and they’re not«rushing» like they are when it’s a full house. Nevertheless, it has never been too long of a wait to get my food. As for the food, it’s definitely a great deal for the price. I usually just get their enchilada, beef burrito and chile relleno with an extra side of sour cream. It is always way more than I can eat so I always have lunch for the next day. :) I think service always depends on who you get but I’ve never had a bad experience. My drinks were always refilled at the right time and the servers always came back multiple times to make sure we were happy. I try to cut them a little slack in the evenings when the restaurant is jam packed and they are rushing around with food and drinks. I have yet to be disappointed in them.
