Definitely an underrated store in Fleming Island and I don’t think most of their locals really appreciate what they have here. The customer service is very good with a helpful and friendly staff. A very laid back environment with some unique items I wouldn’t be able to get elsewhere except for the Grassroots here by me or online. I’m a huge tea fan and they have Bilberry Leaf, Chickweed & Dandelion Leaf in-stock for about $ 6 – 7 for 24 bags. And while I realize that’s not cheap, it can be a challenge to find those varieties along with a ton of other medicinal teas on their dedicated tea shelves in the regular grocery stores. I definitely appreciate that. Overall, my favorite part of this Grassroots besides the nuts section is the fresh, made-to-order juices and smoothies they offer. The prices are competitive, but their juices are outstanding. Absolutely go visit their juice bar and order anything on the menu. It’s all good. So worth the trip here. :)

I am indeed a fan of Grassroots. It’s nice to have a local health foods store on the island. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great selection of refrigerated and shelved foods, as well as a whole row of vitamins, essential oils, etc. Plenty of vegetarian-friendly fare! They even make smoothies in-house! Even the prices here are pretty good– obviously it’s local and health food so you’re hit with the ramifications of such a market. Bottom line: Go to Grassroots and check it out. Pay some love to our local foods: D I love stopping here for«healthy snacks» to sneak into the neighboring movie theater… shhhhh ;)

This is one of our favorite speciality grocery stores. Lots of variety. Yummy smoothies. Normal prices. Very helpful staff. We love their milk. Family owned.

I love the smoothies here, they are a nice addition after a good workout. I was just in recently, they didn’t have the exact item I was looking for, but they had plenty of similar items, so that made it ok. I agree with a previous poster about wishing eating healthier was easier on the wallet.

This place is small but perfect for certain items that you can’t get at Publix or Winn Dixie if you don’t feel like driving over the river to Whole Foods. Some of their products(a lot of the frozen stuff for example), you can get at the other stories for quite a bit cheaper but some things(the most recent thing I came in here for was liquid aminos) you aren’t going to find at most other stores. It’s small and pretty full of products but easy to navigate. The staff is nice but, in my experience, they tend to be very chatty which means if there are other people in line in front of you, it can be a slow process. Overall, a nice addition to the area.

I walked through the Grassroots in 5 Points earlier this week and I think I prefer this location better. I dodged in here a few minutes before closing, when I got out of class, to take a peek around. The store has plenty of room to walk through the aisles and seems to have quite a larger selection compared to the 5 Points location. I was putting together meals in my head as I perused the aisles. I think my favorite section was the homemade soaps. That aisle just smelled so good. My main point of going in here today was to grab a few Stretch Island Fruit Co. Fruit Strips. I’ve been eating them since I was a kid and really wanted a few to snack on. I’ve been hearing awesome things about GNM smoothies and was going to get one, but figured, as it was so close to closing, that I wouldn’t be able. In any case, I guarantee that I’ll be stopping in here for a snack for class or to grab some groceries. The only thing that will hold me back from most purchases is the price. I just wish eating healthy was easier on the pocket.
