Our server was a great guy from New York. We had already been to Whitey’s Fish Camp that night so we weren’t very hungry. I ordered the cheesy bread and Mike suggested that I add italian sausage. It was very good! There was live music and the atmosphere was laid back and we really enjoyed it.

Mainly a hang out for the 30−40ish crowd. Way too expensive and the red sauce is not good. Lots of older men on Wednesday nights looking at the women! LOL

This location is in a very nice, convenient area, good space and very well planned seating area with a large covered patio. There are lots if other shops and restaurants and a 12 screen movie theater nearby. Now for the downside, the chairs are too short to be comfortable, it feels like sitting at the kids table, and I am an average height person. We made a point of saying that we were trying to see a movie at 7pm, already had tickets and it was 5:50 when we were seated. The restaurant was not quite half full, and many of those people were eating when we arrived. No one was seated on the patio Our drinks and cheese bread arrived very quickly, which seemed like a good sign, and it was great. Server seemed pleasant, all was well. Our pizza took forever, people seated later were getting their food, but ours was still not ready. A few people were leaving from the original crowd. We realized we’d likely have time for 1 slice, and asked for boxes. Tried to pay our bill but that had some hiccups, but at last it happened and then our pizza arrived as time to eat even one slice ran out. It was a bit overly greasy, and I was surprised because I have seen better at the Avondale location that I normally visit. We took it with us, but I can’t say if it will be eaten, or just tossed. It was quite clear as we were boxing our pizza that we weren’t thrilled, and I must give the manager on duty credit for approaching to apologize to us and offer a gift card and a couple of passes for discounted movie tickets to show that he cared about our business and would like us to come back again and give them another chance. He is the reason this review isn’t 2 stars. Hopefully this was an unusual occurrence and is not the normal experience one might expect.

Not sure what happened to this place. My wife and I have been going there regularly for several years now and have always enjoyed the food and selections of beer and overall atmosphere. During our last visit a few months ago, we experienced a physical altercation between patrons and then witnessed the manager inflame the situation by not handling the problem in a professional manner. I submitted a survey describing our experience and the GM reached out to me apologizing and offered us a gift card to give them another chance. Well we did give it another try last night and there will NOT be another. There were not very many people in there when we arrived but seemed to be a lot of staff. We were seated and immediately approached by our server, a nice, bubbly girl who seemed to be a bit inexperienced. She wanted our order right away and we hadn’t even looked at the beer menu(one was not given to us by the host). After several visits to the table in a matter of 3 minutes, we gave our beer order to our server and she seemed confused and unsure of what we were ordering. No big deal. We placed our food order and once again, confusion. She did not seem to know the menu very well, again no big deal. My wife ordered a hamburger with roasted potatoes as a side. Our food came in a reasonable time but the roasted potatoes were black and over charred. Also the burger had the lettuce under the patty and was slimy and wilted. I expressed to our server about the potatoes, she apologized and offered another side. My wife said no, we were kind of in a time crunch. We just expressed that the kitchen should know so it wouldn’t happen to next person who ordered it. She said she would get the manager. No show! Mind you he came to our table twice to ask how everything was before we had even got our beer. This is the same manager I spoke of earlier and I saw him walking around but he chose not to make a visit to our table. Once again, total lack of professionalism. As we were eating, another employee who was refilling the Parmesan shakers rudely interrupted us while we were eating to ask us for our shaker which was on the other end of the table. It was completely full it did not need to be refilled, forget that she asked my wife with greasy burger hands to grab it for her. She could have reached around from the table behind us and excused herself or just waited altogether for us the finish our meal. There were maybe three other tables being served at that time and clearly they were given busy duties to perform while they were slow. I certainly see why they were. We will not make another visit to this establishment. I have noticed new faces every time we have gone there and they seem to get younger and the shorts getting shorter. If I wanted to see young, tattooed girls with their asses hanging out of their shorts, I’d go to Hooters; which I won’t for that exact reason. It’s a family establishment and kids don’t need to see such inappropriate style. Not trying to sound like a prude, but one would expect that at a bar or other locations where kids aren’t visiting. Unacceptable and this company should be disturbed by the course that their business is heading.

We have eaten here and taken out a few times. The food is a bit over priced. Take out is recommended. The service is pretty bad, they have a few servers/bartenders that are good but it has been hit or miss for us. It gets very busy and very loud.

Me and my husband both love this restaurant. All ingredients are fresh and taste of the highest quality. We have been to this restaurant at least five or more times and never had any problems whatsoever the drinks are absolutely fabulous as well i love the fresh mint Mojitos.

I moved from upstate NY about five months ago and this place is a slice of home. By far the best pizza in the area.

This place is delicious and we go often. Our pizza was one of the best we’ve ever had. Only problem was the garlic and parmesan pretzels we ordered were very hard.

Such a disappointment in this evening’s dinner. We’ve been here before and really enjoyed our meal, but it just wasn’t to be tonight. To start with the artichoke and spinach dip was good, but the ramekin was only half filled up. There was plenty of fresh, crispy pita bread, but very little dip to put on them. The taste was great, but for an appetizer, it would have been great for one person, but not for sharing. We ordered the Philosopher’s Pizza– which sounded great, on the menu. Steak, Portabella mushrooms, kalamata olives, artichokes, feta, & mozzarella. Unfortunately, it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I thought maybe it was just me, but neither my daughter not husband thought it had flavor either. About the only thing you could say had any taste were the kalamata olives. Other than that, it just all ran together in a bland bite. It was nice and hot, and the crust was crispy and chewy. But just blah. Such a let down.

The service could always be better than the usual staff of the«why do I have to work a job to live my life?» crew, but what they lack in hiring a professional and customer service oriented wait staff they make up for in taste when the food is made properly. Food is over priced however and portions for the pizza are downright criminal! It’s nothing for a family of 4 to spend over 25 dollars on just one large pizza and walk out hungry because everyone gets only 2 slices!!! Quality ingredients is what you pay for I know, but customers should get more alot for their money or prices should be lowered. We love the appetizers like the cheese bread, subs and calzones which are more worth the money but our food has been overcooked a few times and we have had to have it sent back and replaced. Its a decent place, but price for the portion is the main thing keeping us from being frequent visitors.

Love it here on Fleming Island. Holy shitake with a blue moon is my go to dinner. Love the hummus and portabella appetizers too. Eating outside is the best.

Stopped on for a Friday night snack. Had 10 hot wings and a medium house pizza. The wings are just ok. Maybe it was the generic Tobasco flavoring. Should have tried the spicy Thai Chili. The pizza was as usual Awesome which is what they specialize in. A lot of different ingredients blended together well and that crust us still the best I’ve had anywhere. Taylor was the server and she was excellent coming around at the the right time intervals to check on is. You can’t beat this place for the best pizza.

Needed a place to have Sunday brunch and every place we went had people waiting outside, till we passed by and they were open. Service was OK, the food was great! Love the atmosphere sort of hipsterish! But sometimes it is too much. Enough with the gaged ears with 3 inch hoops lip and eyebrow and nose rings and so many tats you look like a Detroit under pass. and then your touching my food, The food is great, some of the staff look dingy and freakish!

I would say this place is perfection. I have visted other locations and they were veey good as well. But the Fleming Island location is utterly amazing. The sauce is tangy and bold, the cheese is melted expertly with none of the rubber like chew you can find at other pizza restaurants. Every single pizza they serve has a surprise whether that be a slight hint of flavor to a bold obvious addition. The staff is more than doing their job. They love the job and you can tell. It is bit hard to have a great time and a great meal here. I will return as often as I am able.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday and shared a Greek pizza with my teenager. It was amazingly good. The service was excellent. This is our favorite pizza place EVER. We always enjoy the atmosphere and spot something new in the artwork at every visit.

Mellow Mushroom is great in that you can always expect to receive the same standard of pizza, no matter where you visit this chain. Personally, I recommend the calzones(and a n empty stomach!) The House Calzone combines cheese, spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms to create a succulent dish. I am also a fan of the beers on draft as well as the margarita happy hour on weekday afternoons!

The Fleming Island Mellow was the location that I was introduced to upon initially moving to Jacksonville back in 2004. It’s been quite a long while since I’ve been back to this location partly due to not wanting to drive all the way down to Fleming Island on my own. Now that I have to head down here for class, it’s the perfect excuse to head over to Mellow. I got out of class around quarter to 8 and headed here for dinner. I’ve been coming down to Fleming Island for class for about two weeks now, and it seems every night that I drive by Mellow is packed. When I walked in to ask for a table, they asked me where I wanted to sit because the patio area had a wait and the interior did not. I actually ended up with a huge booth all to myself. Upon entering, I was seated and I asked my waitress if there were any cider options besides Angry Orchard, which doesn’t pair all that well with Italian for me. There were no other options so I decided for some red Chianti wine. This would have been fine if I hadn’t found out after I started drinking it that it was Ladies Night and I could have gotten the House Wine for $ 2. I knew I wanted pizza of some kind, so red would pair well. Anyways, I know for next time. One thing that bothers me is that between the hours of 4:30 pm and 10:30 pm, Mellow does not sell slices of pizza, which is what I really wanted. I was debating between a small pie and a calzone when my waitress told me that they could make a calzone based off of any of the pizzas on the menu. As I knew I’d bring some home to have for lunch today, a Mighty Meaty calzone is what I ordered. I don’t usually opt for calzones, but this was delish. One of the meats, besides the pepperoni, had a nice, unexpected kick to it. The dough wasn’t overcooked, nor was it raw. I usually cannot eat dairy, but I sucked it up today. Next time, I may order it without the mozzarella. Things are on the pricier side at Mellow, so be prepared. I ended up paying $ 24 for my calzone and glass of wine, which is why I was irked about not being informed that it was Ladies Night. In any case, although Mellow is a franchise, it is definitely a better choice than Pizza Hut or the like.
