So glad I got a chance to visit Purl in the Pines. The owner was very friendly, taking samples down for us to try on. Their selection is great and being from out of town was glad to see so many local yarns available. Would love to live in the area to be able to make this my LYS.

I just left this friendly, well stocked yarn store with a bag of yarn and enough projects to keep me busy busy busy! Michelle, the owner was very knowledgeable and helped with yarn selection and finding patterns. Cora, the store pup, also came out to give her opinion on style and fiber! Purl has so many fun yarns and color ways that it is hard to decide what to leave behind. The best part is she seemed to always have enough of a color and lot to make your project. You should definitely stop by if in the area you will not be disappointed!!!

As a relatively new knitter(started just under a year ago!), Purl in the Pines has been a great resource for me. Not only do they have kind, friendly staff who are there to help you out, but they have such a large selection of yarn, needles(straight, circular, and DPNs), and anything else you can possibly think of. They definitely helped me build my knitting stash from the ground up! As I previously mentioned, the staff is extremely helpful. They are all knowledgeable and are always wiling to give out tips and tricks. After my first trip to Purl in the Pines, I never went back to another chain craft store for yarn ever again! I would highly recommend them to any yarn crafter, novice or experienced!

Wow. I am visiting Flagstaff and always make it a practice to visit the LYS when I’m traveling looking for«local yarn jewels». I do a lot of traveling and a lot of visiting ofLocal Yarn Stores, but I have to shout that Purl in the Pines is THEBEST I’ve experienced. Seriously, Michelle has created a wonderful experience: an open store where you feel surrounded by color, yarns well organized and labeled by weight, and then beautifully merchandized in rainbows of color, each yarn well stocked and orderly. Wonderful islands of special«jewels», lots of samples knitted up, top of the line needles, easily browsed books, just a delicious experience. I walked away with hand dyed yarns from three nearby sources. Flagstaff doesn’t know how lucky it is.

In town for a getaway from the PHX area and had to find the LYS, of course. SOSO glad I did! Michelle, the owner, is lovely and knowledgable and nice to chat with as well. I could spend all day in the shop as it is very well-stocked with just about any type of yarn you could need or want. It also has all the little tools of the trade from the practical to the whimsical. I found the prices to be right on par with other local yarn stores. There were plenty of choices for someone looking to not be too spendy, all the way up to many luxury yarns that are hand-dyed and/or made of pricier fibers. I scored some fantastic skeins for my stash for some upcoming Christmas gift projects and got some needles on Michelle’s suggestion that I have fallen in LOVE with. I liked it so much, I stopped back again the next day on our way out of town. If you are in The Flagstaff area, do yourself a favor and drop in. Cozy shop, fabulous owner and gorgeous and generous stock of yarns and tools you won’t want to miss! Thanks to Michelle and staff for making my visit a highlight of my Flagstaff adventure.

A wonderful selection of yarn and wonderful, patient, warm and inviting staff! Cora the shop mascot(doggy) is a sweetie too. I’m just sad I live in Phoenix. Every trip I make to Flagstaff I make sure to stop by and get my yarn fix!

Lis was super helpful! I was so happy with my purchases and all the help she offered me. If I lived close I would be a piece of furniture in this shop. Anything you need will be found here. I would love to be able to take some of their classes. LOVEIT!

Spacious, well organized, very friendly with a nice selection of quality yarn and books, as well as the friendliest shop dog in the west! Lots of sample garments on hand to give us a good idea of how things will knit up. Owner was so helpful in recommending yarn and even special ordered some specialty needles I’ve been looking for for awhile. Thanks and I will return when I am back in town!

Michelle is awesome. Purl in the Pines brings a lot to Flagstaff, fancy yarn wise. It can be spendy, but nice yarn almost always is.

This was a very cute shop. Unfortunately, I’m a bargain yarn shopper so I found everything a bit overpriced here. However, they do have really nice stock and I did find a size 9 circular needle that was 16″ long and those are really rare to find and that wasn’t expensive at all. Worth checking out, for sure!

Since moving to a larger space, Purl in the Pines has used the extra room to great advantage. It has a wonderful selection of yarns and all the supplies and books you’ll need for a successful knitting or crochet project. The crochet instructor, Susan Jeffers, is grey knowledgeable and patient and the store owner, Michelle, knows all of her stock and what might work for what project. Wonderful!
