Sadly Granny’s Closet has severely gone downhill. It used to be a bustling place with great food and even though the service has always been slow, the quality of the food made you forget the wait. But everything changes I suppose. We were the only diners in the dining room area waited over 45 mins for our tasteless food. Salad bar is literally salad, cheese, croutons, some skeptical looking shrimp and very watery dressing. Never got the bread that is supposed to come with dinner. Our waiter was nice enough but sadly the tasteless food did not make up for the lack of service. Our finally bill was over $ 50 for 2 of us with no alcohol or appetite and we would have been better off flushing a $ 50 down the toilets(which were horribly gross too I might add)

Well the food wasn’t bad, not the greatest. Only gluten free option was wings(which hubby doesn’t like). Ordered a patty melt with no bun — he enjoyed it. I had fettuccini with chicken. The chicken was wonderful — Alfredo sauce was very watery. Service was ok at best. Not very attentive and slow! Wish we would have read other reviews prior to coming in. Live and learn.

This review is only getting one star because we didn’t have to fight for a place to park. We were sat in a booth in the dining room and I was immediately assaulted by the 60 watt lightbulb hanging over my head. I had to unscrew it so that I didn’t go blind while reading the menu. I ordered a New Mexico burger, which should have been called Flagstaff garlic burger and the fries were soggy. Our silverware consisted of a salad fork and a knife. This place goes down in my book as one of my worst meals ever. I won’t be back.

Going into this place I thought it looked pretty cool even though though the reviews were pretty low I thought I’d give it a shot. They were pretty quick at taking our order but extremely slow at bringing out the food(about 20 – 25 mins). The food tasted pretty good and big servings it at the end of our dinner we sat there an extra 20 – 25 mins till we finally got fed up of waiting and we asked another waitress to get our checks(by the way it was my birthday and we had other plans). Our waitress was just sitting down somewhere running her fingers through her hair for 10 mins which is gross! Maybe if they get different employees then the place would be better!

Best fried steak we have had in a long time. We will be back as we visit flag a few times a year.

Wow1 It’s hard to believe all these horrible reviews. In Flag for some snow play with the family and stopped in here for dinner. I had the New York steak which was excellent, loved the mashed potatoes and gravy. My daughters had the fish and chips and country fried steak. The wife had some wings and salad. everyone enjoyed their food, except the fried zuccini, it tasted strange and the processed bread crumbs were gritty. They should switch to a beer or egg batter. Our waitress was attentive and courteous, particularly notable because it was Saturday night during NFL playoffs. I knocked off a half star for the zuccini, the other one and a half stars they lost are because they added an automatic 18% gratuity. I have never seen this for a party of less than 6 and they failed to mention it. Sad thing is, I was about to tip our waitress a 20 but she had to settle for the automatic $ 14.00 they tried to slip past me.

Best Ribeye I’ve had in a long time, cooked to perfection with well-seasoned side dishes. TVs in every comfy booth, it was a nice touch for dining alone. Server(Bobby?) is a nice young man, well versed in the Menu, and was extremely attentive. Hotel personnel suggested this gem, and I will be sure to dine here again when I visit Flag! Local sports memorabilia line the walls, and was pleased to have my soft drink served in a red Cardinals cup!

Whatever happened to the old Granny’s… Terrible service, cold food, rude servers and salad bar is just awful. What used to be a family favorite has now become a passer by. Sure hope this place cleans up its act. Seat ripped to where my child could honestly fall into it. Carpet stained and torn and bathrooms gross. Clean it up guys!

Our waiter was a very nice man but unfortunately the food was horrible. My mother even sent back her spaghetti! She’s never done so in her life. Just DONOT try that spaghetti! You could get better spaghetti from a frozen dinner! I had a Ruben and ended up spitting out quite a bit due to the meat being so fatty. Actually made me feel sick a few hours later. My boyfriend and step dad both found their meals disappointing as well. On top of the horrible food it was nearly $ 60 for us, no alcohol purchased, AND my mothers spaghetti removed. Horribly over priced. The group we came with also went to the salad bar and found it disappointing as well. Wonder how long that shrimp and fruit had been sitting there too… Honestly should have just walked out.(Or never walked in and checked Unilocal first)

I used to be a server and was with a table of current servers and we sat in the bar area at a table. Our server was Cayla. The food was okay at best. The service was one of the worst experiences I’ve had and even a table full of servers explained how upset they were. We asked Cayla for drink refills or questions she did not know on the menu and she would angerly storm away. She did not thank us until I overly exaggeratedly thanked her for everything. It was obvious the last place she wanted to be on earth was serving us. This business just lost five flagstaff regulars from their atrocious service. I recommend to stay away. There are way better places to spend less money.

It’s sad this place used to be really good, but ever since the new owners took over it’s been a nightmare. They’ve very unorganized, my guides hate it and sadly we don’t send groups there any more. My boyfriend and I walked in back in June, to just grab a bit to eat but after waiting around for 10min without so much as any one saying a word to us we left.

Two stars for the food. The service was terrible, even though the restaurant was empty. Find another place to watch the game.

Can you go less than one star? Wow, I am very tolerant of most service at restaurants but I have to say this place was the absolute worst. My party of five was seated close to the door which is fine. 10 minutes later a party of six was seated behind us. Within two minutes they had their drink order in and I had to beg their waiter to get someone to come serve us. Five minutes later someone showed up for our drink order. 15 minutes later we were served our four glasses of water, a Shirley temple and a order from the bar. I do not think it is unreasonable to get glasses of ice water in less than 30 minutes, but I guess I am wrong. We saw our waitress a total of four times for the more than 90 minutes we were there waiting for our food. The only time I could get her attention was to startle her as she was rushing by our table. The salad bar was terrible and I think barely qualified as a salad bar. My daughter and I ordered it and when we went to get some salad, there were no plates, lettuce, bowls for soup and pretty much anything else stocked. Disappointed is an understatement. I had to wait for 15 minutes for our waitress to grace us with her rushing by us in order to beg for our bill so we could pay and get out of there. The person working the front desk just seemed to walk around from place to place. As I was paying the person who I could only think was the manager asked how everything was and when I started telling him what had happened, he literally turned around and walked away. Regarding the food, obviously the salad bar was horrendous. The prime rib had a flavor that I could not figure out and it was not pleasant. My wife and I could not get through half of it without giving up. The fryer is apparently working as the fried zucchini was actually good, although it is hard to mess that up. The spaghetti and meatballs were dry and lacked flavor. I cannot say stay away in more stronger terms. Maybe if they get a real manager and more professional wait staff, they could do OK, but as is, I am surprised this place is open at all. Good luck if you go there,

So disappointed. I came here years ago and the place was quaint and the food was good. Not anymore!!! Bland, overpriced food, mediocre service. So not worth a penny.

I’ve been going here since I was in high school, they used to be a great place to eat hang out and watch the game. Nowadays, things have changed. The service is terrible and the menu is always changing as if fishing for the next best thing to serve. I would recommend going elsewhere. The entire restaurant needs a facelift, it feels like I’m walking into 1975. It’s dark dank and musty.

Had high hopes but like a Tom Brady football they were quickly deflated. Ask for medium rare and they brought out well done. When I mentioned it to the manager on duty he told me try it and see if I like it. REALLY! Let me chew on my old leather shoe it has the same texture. Baked potato was cold and hard/old potato. My wife asked for something else and they brought out instant mash potato’s. With so many options in flagstaff I feel I was hood winked. Try LA Fonda they never disappoint.

If I could give NO stars, I would. Everything on the menu is overpriced by 30%. I ordered 2 small sides just to support the karaōke show I attended there… and they still charged me $ 2.95FORSODAWATER(yes, water with carbonation). Eat someplace else BEFORE you go there and just get the fresh baked bread

We stayed in Flagstaff before we went visiting theGrand Canyon NP. While we patrolling the city, we found the Historic Route 66 Road sign and led us to this unique restaurant. First of all, the statue in front of the parking lot was really interesting. When we entered inside, the ambience was quite classic and attractive. The foods and side salad bar were quite OK, and the price is reasonable. I will recommend to visit this restaurant if you are in town.

Not a bad place to eat or grab a drink while in Flagstaff. ITs exactly what it sounds like, Granny’s Closet and the décor reflects that. The food is homestyle comfort food and the process are good. Service was fast and courteous and our waitress was very attentive and cheerful.
