Made a quick«pitstop» at the Flagstaff Brewing Company to refuel while the wife shopped. Being midday on a Sunday the place was quiet, maybe two other patrons. That was fine with me, which allowed a little more chat time with the bartender. Nice fellow, we talked about their different regular brews on tap and our geographical differences, his being Southwest, mine Northeast. After a bit he offered a couple of 2 oz samples since I couldn’t decide. I tried the«Bitterroot ESB» by Flagstaff Brewing Company a Extra Special /Strong Bitter and the«928 Local» by Wanderlust Brewing Company a Saison /Farmhouse Ale. Both very good and well recommended, however, my eye glanced towards another. I pointed towards it and asked what does the«7,» bartender guy smiled and said, «Thats our real special stuff, good eye. Its the Flagnificent 7, a collaboration of the 7 area brewers.» He racked up another 2 ounce glass of the most unbelievable aromatic IPA. Beautiful find and a well mastered collaboration. All of a sudden, my pleasure dimmed, shopping time was over, and so was my sample time. I pleaded for a full pint without tears, but was met with a stiff upper lip and reminded we still had a long drive to complete. With no other options at hand, having already eaten lunch elsewhere I conceded to defeat and shall always remember that«peppermint patty» moment. Therefore, no food to report, but I’m sure the menu is as good as their brew.

I had a delicious portobello sandwich with French onion soup here. My boyfriend got a black and blue burger, he loved it! Impressive food for a brewery type of restaurant. Being from out of town, we didn’t know what restaurant to choose in Flagstaff. We definitely made the right choice! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I have a registered service animal and we felt awkward sitting on the patio(patio not dog friendly — that was made very clear by several staff).

Love their beer! I Bought a Growler of their IPA before I ever been to here. Love the food but the portions were small. This place get packed! I had to leave because I felt claustrophobic, and crazy loud.

Warm beer and they are out of most of what is on the menu. Disgusting bathrooms and a pushy wait staff. Very disappointed with a name like Flagstaff Brewing and in a prime location on Route 66 they should be rocking it. Place is kind of a $hithole actually. Skip it, go to the Lumber Yard, Mother Road or Collins.

We came here on a whim because everywhere else was packed on a Saturday afternoon– why is this place not standing room only? The Sasquatch stout is insane, the service is attentive, they will do burgers rare if you want them, and there are veggie options! Yum!

The food is okay. The whiskey bar is where it’s at though! One of the bartenders was more in love with Scotch than I am and definitely pointed out a few gems in that department for me. I loved every second of every drop.

Only eat here is you have at least an hour to wait for your food and you are not already starving. The burgers are delicious, but the wait time for one is ridiculous. I also find it funny that a brewery probably makes more money off of their guest taps than their own. Do not order their beer, if you do, don’t say I didn’t warn you. They are some of the worst beers I’ve ever had. The burgers are great. My favorites are the stink burgers or the black and blue. My husband loves the Aussie burger. Be prepared to wait over an hour for your food and only order guest taps. Follow those two rules and it should be ok.

Great little brewery in downtown Flagstaff. We didn’t try the food but the outdoor patio was a great people watching venue for afternoon beers. They are a small place and the service is kind of slow on Sundays but we enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the closest beer to a pale ale and my bf had one of their IPA beers.

Micro brew with a decent menu… Solid 3 stars. We split the shroom burger which was perfectly cooked and served with crispy fries. Our only complaint was that the bun was a bit dry. We also split the Greek salad which we sent back due to the super«garlic-I-fied» dressing. We ended up getting the same salad with another dressing in the side and it was great. I tried the blackbird porter and the babbaganouj IPA and both were very good. It was certainly good, but not list worthy…

Cool place to enjoy a burger! I like the idea of being able to choose the ingredients myself so BYO was perfect for me. The combo egg-cheddar-avocado was really nice. My boyfriend had the burger with peaches: adding fruits was a good idea in principle but as the peaches were not ripe/cooked long enough, the result was a bit disappointing. Little plus: the sunny outdoor space!

Not very impressed. Came here because, well, every place else was booked solid, so we walked in to no greeting, I guess we just find our own table. We finally located a table in the blazing sun on the patio, and asked for some shade and the waitress pretty much just shrugged her shoulders and said we could wait for a shady table. We felt like a pack of sharks watching the other diners, and the other people waiting to grab a table, after about ten minutes of this, I felt like there was going to be a fight for a table. Fortunately the party next to us, offered their seat, which we gratefully took. One would think a microbrewery would highlight their own brews on the menu. Well, they did. Out of about ten listed, they had four. Oh, well, I was the DD anyway. We ordered burgers and a side of onion rings, the wife had a Caesar salad with a previously frozen fried chicken breast on top. The lettuce was wilted and flavorless, the dressing indiscernible. They have a whole lineup of specialty burgers priced accordingly. Here’s the breakdown. I had a Blue Cheese/peppercorn topped burger ordered med-rare. It came with a spicy«aioli». Burger was flavorless, could not taste peppercorns at all, and it was cooked med-well, which for a burger out of the freezer equals dry and tough. One of my associates had a jalapeño-bbq burger, which was missing the barbecue. Another had a green-chile burger, the green chiles right out of a can. A special paragraph for the onion rings and beverages, as they deserve it. The beers got the nod(a good thing), but nobody at any time was ever offered refills. The onion rings came out about twenty minutes before the rest of the meal. It was a large portion, they must have poured in half a bag. This giant portion of onion rings came with one of those tiny half-ounce plastic cups of bottled ranch. For nine bucks, one would expect at least an ounce cup. The service was barely adequate, barely there, only the minimum was performed and that was slow, but polite. While dining, a local band was setting up and started jamming, they rocked and they made the finish acceptable. Go figure, a band just doing a Sunday afternoon gig was the best thing about this meal. That’s what got them the second star.

I went here for my first time on a Saturday(7÷25÷15) night. As I walked in I was greeted by a guy who was checking ID. He was smoking a cigarette on the job. Gross. Walked to the bar and was greeted by the bartender. He wasn’t too excited to serve me. I ordered a blueberry apple cider for $ 3. He said, «Three dollars,» and opened the can. He was very short with me and seemed annoyed. I asked for water and he told me it was outside. I went outside where the live band was setting up and the water was in one of those orange sports coolers with plastic cups next to it ONTHEGROUND. That’s disgusting. I asked the waitress for a menu. She got it but was also short with me. Look, I understand if you guys are tired but you probably shouldn’t take it out on your guests. You’re lucky I tipped. I probably won’t come here again. Horrible service.

Ehh! We were stopping in Flagstaff for the night on The way home from Vegas. The Unilocal site was having problems so I had to walk around trying to find a cool place to eat. It was really cold outside so we settled in this place. It was very blah. Nothing to write home about… service was meh. Food and beer was ehh. Disappointing.

They definitely have a large selection of brew to choose from but only have a select few on tap. You seat yourself and the waiter comes to you. Service was okay but seemed like our gal was slightly impatient with us when we were trying to decide what to drink. I got the wheat & ipa on tap, both were delicious but I’m more partial to the heffeweizen. it had a really subtle citrus taste and very easy to drink. The food was okay, I mean it’s bar food. what else can you expect I guess. We only came here cuz the place we really wanted to go to was super packed. I got the house salad($ 5.95) with chicken(+$ 3) cuz nothing else sounded appetizing. The salad was very lackluster. your typical mixed greens with slices of tomatoes, cucumber, & sprouts. Definitely not worth $ 9 if you ask me! My SO got the pear burger which he wasn’t too fond of. He mentioned the pickles overpowered the flavor of the pear and turned it into something not so pleasant to the palate. It was a simple burger with a pear added to the mix… we were excited to try it cuz it was different but in this case the saying«if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it» really does apply. We also substituted the regular fries for poutine fries for an extra $ 3 and boy did we regret it! It was a pathetic display of poutine fries where they put gravy on top and added shredded mozzarella to it… the portion was really tiny, too! Don’t really recommend this place for food if you’re looking for something amazing cuz you’ll be disappointed. If you’re good with a few drinks and don’t care so much for food then this place will do.

Hands down the best brew pub in Flagstaff, so says this Portland native and admitted beer snob. While the other nearby competitors offer a *bit* more ambiance and updated décor, Flagstaff Brewing exceeds expectations by employing knowledgable and friendly servers. I wish we weren’t so tired to forget our server’s name, but she was very eager to ask how we liked the beers(you could tell that as a small brewery, they wanted sincere feedback) and was so very attentive. She knew her beers, and not just what was on tap – I mean she knew hops and flavors and so on. It was awesome to talk a little beer-speak and not just get our water refilled on occasion. We tried three beers, all of which match up to Oregon’s best: Special K Sitka’s Spruce Tip Ale(a lighter red brewed with fresh spruce tips) a Kölsch and the Three Pin Pale Ale. The spruce ale was a standout – so fresh and not overpowered by the woodsy, sweet hints of spruce tips. I believe our server said they use spruce from North Carolina, but I could be totally wrong! Either way, that’s the beer to get. The food was great, too. Uncomplicated sandwiches and sides. Nothing mind-blowing, but our ham and cheese and turkey-bacon-avocado were tasty. The food fit the bar-like atmosphere of the place. Fresh, fast and filling. Also, get the roasted garlic appetizer – you get about 15 – 20 cloves of garlic sizzling in oil on a cast iron platter, flanked by a half loaf of perfectly crusty french bread. So good. Visitors looking for satisfying food and excellent craft beers(many of the Flagstaff options are tasting/taprooms) should hit up Flagstaff Brewing first.

I am not much of a bar guy, however I do tend to enjoy bar restaurants, and fortunately, in Flagstaff there are several of them. This is quite possibly my favorite in town mainly because of two things, one, it has Onion Soup which not only is my favorite dish, but its stock contains bourbon, and two, it has the Bagna Calda which are garlic cloves cooked in a cast iron skillet with oil and which come to your table still cooking in the pan. It is the perfect spread for bread which they serve along with it. As for the entrée’s, there are several items including sandwiches, salads, and burgers. Most of them are typical for bar restaurants. They have burgers, an assortment of salads, fried food, sandwiches, etc. However, the choices here are a tad more eclectic compared to other bar restaurants such as Native New Yorker which is another Flagstaff restaurant. My favorite item on the menu are the burgers, my favorite of which is the Pear Burger which contains pears, bleu cheese, and a balsamic glaze. Additionally, they have a nice selection of beer here, and in particular, I enjoy their selection of porters whenever I feel the urge to drink alcohol. However, there are some drawbacks to this place. While its customer service is often great, it really lags behind on busy weekends, which seems to be due to the fact that they are understaffed. Additionally, the taste of the food is inconsistent. For instance, the onion soup tastes different at times, and the salads and entrée’s are sometimes not served as requested, or accurately reflect the menu. While this is not a consistent issue, and even though the staff is more than willing to go back and fix it, this has happened often enough to the point where it is noticeable, and that is such a drag for me because it really is my favorite bar/restaurant in Flagstaff.
