Very disappointed. I wasn’t given a choice of the soup. I wanted to order the hot and sour soup. My soup was lukewarm and my Seame Chicken was cold. No apology and they just nuked it. I will Not being going back there.

Panda was packed so we went down the street and were pleasantly surprised with China Garden’s authentic Chinese food. We had the seafood clay pot special and spicy Singapore rice noodles. The kids enjoyed walnut shrimp and shrimp chow mien. For appetizer, the delicious vegetarian egg rolls were freshly made. Service was fast on a rainy day despite the many customers. Everything was a delicious as the Chinese restaurants back home in California. Restaurant décor is showing its 25 years. But the food and service is 5 stars. Most prices were reasonable. The specials were a bit more pricey. Definitely not so Americanized and so saucy and salty as Panda. If you want authentic Chinese, this is the place!

My partner and I had eaten at this place before at least 3 or 4 times, and it was decent every time. Not spectacular, but good enough to want to go back, at least for the egg drop soup. We always loved the free green tea that came with our meal, and we loved the egg drop soup. After this last time, we’re never going back. He ordered a Mongolian chicken lunch special that came with two fried shrimps and two egg rolls, and I got the lemon chicken. We received our egg drop soup before out meal, as usual. It was warm, but not hot. This didn’t bother us until the actual food came. My partner received his small appetizers that came with his special, and I could automatically tell that they were something that came pre-made from a frozen bag, especially the shrimps. My parents used to feed me those frozen shrimps all the time when I was a kid! They weren’t even hot when we ate them, more like lukewarm. When we got our lemon chicken and Mongolian chicken, it was hardly lukewarm. After taking a few bites, we decided that we couldn’t eat this and that we’d take our business elsewhere. We called our waitress over, and we kindly told her that we unfortunately couldn’t eat this food because it was cold, but that we would be happy to pay for the appetizers. She seemed confused at our request, and she left our table to most likely grab her boss. An older female woman approached us and asked us what we needed, and we kindly told her the same thing that we did to our waitress. She got flustered and raised her voice saying, «We cook our food fresh here!» Mind you, we weren’t insulting the food or the cooking at all, just that the food was cold and we didn’t want to eat or pay for cold food. Again, we told her that we would pay for the appetizers. She said nothing and left our table. My partner and I waited for a good 5 to 10 minutes to see what to do next, but no one ever came by, and no one was at the paying table. So, we got up from our seats and exited the restaurant. By the time my partner was in the driver’s seat and I was opening the car door, an older male comes running at us from the store yelling, «YOUPAYOR I CALLTHEPOLICE!» I was stunned at this action and his unprofessionalism, but I was polite and agreed to come in and pay. When I got in the restaurant to pay, they made us pay around $ 6 for the appetizer. The owner chased us down for SIX. FUCKING. DOLLARS. What a joke. Pathetic, really. I hate to leave a bad review for this place, since we were fond of it, but I could never let something like this go by without other people knowing.

Never had a chance to try it. After walking in, there appeared to be only 1 girl acting as hostess and server. Three tables had leftover dishes on them just sitting there. We waited 10 – 15 minutes with another family ahead of us. Another lady came out from the back and we said we and this other family were needing seats and she proceeds to help the people behind us pay their tabs. We decided to go elsewhere…

Went here on New Years of 2016. When my girlfriend and I got there, we can tell that the restaurant is very busy and quite understaff. You can tell that all the waiters were working their butts off since they were all walking around table to table and to the kitchen very quickly. Despite the understaff and business, our awesome waitress served us very well. The food was good but not extremely good. I thought they were slightly overpriced. Given that the place is understaffed and unreasonable charges from other reviews, it does not seem like the management/owner is very good. The waiters/waitresses there are very hard working however.

I have never INMYLIFE had such AWFUL service. And I say this as a person who works in hospitality and always give people the benefit of the doubt. I placed my order and TWOHOURSPASS and it does not arrive. I call and ask politely what’s going, because hey, maybe they’re busy, or something gets mixed up. Things happen! The man has the audacity to tell me that he DELIVEREDMYFOOD when I know full well, as someone who lives by themselves, that I didn’t answer my door to anyone. THEYGAVEMYFOODTOTHEWRONGADDRESS. I paid with card, you’re supposed to check the card to make sure it’s the right person! Then I say fine, whatever, cancel my order and refund me my money. What do they do? Tell me they WILLNOTCANCELMYORDER. But I try to explain to them, I can’t TAKE that order, because I have to go to work. What next? They tell me that someone will be there shortly and HANGUPONME. I’m filing a complaint with my bank and I am NEVEREATINGHEREAGAIN.

As a new flagstaff resident coming from New York where there’s an excellent Chinese takeout restaurant everywhere I was nervous about finding one out here that was anything close. I was craving Chinese food tonight and did some Unilocal research to find one and took a chance. I’m glad I did! I got chicken and broccoli and hot and sour soup and both are very good! May be my new Chinese food spot. A previous reviewer mentioned her brother in law from New York said this place was good and that sold me right away! Delivery was quick too!

If I could give lower than one star I would. I ordered my food online for delivery. I added a %20 tip to the order. They said it would take 35−45min. After 1 hour I call. They tell me it’s on the way. 20 mins later I call again. They still say it’s on its way but they will check on the driver and call me back. No call back! I call again. …no just made at the complete lies about my food on the way. The diver finally showed up. Promised me the food was still warm. I got the food, sat down, soggy, cold, and gross,. I called them to come get the food and give me my money back. They didn’t want to do it! I had to call eat24… where I ordered the food from to get everything straitend out.

Our Son goes to NAU and loves China Garden! Every now and then, for a special treat or just to let him know how proud we are of him, I will order Orange Chicken and steamed rice delivered to his dorm. He loves it and China Garden is always so nice when I call to order it. I love using BeyondMenu to order too, fast convenient and gives me peace of mind knowing all of the delivery instructions are there to specify which dorm to deliver it too and how to get ahold of our Son once they get there so he can get the order even if the dorm room doors are locked. Thank you China Garden for letting me spoil our Son at NAU while I’m sitting at my computer in California!

I don’t know why everyone says this place is so good. I’ve eaten take out here twice and it’s not all that good. The last time I got the hot and sour soup and it was literally grey and gritty… I’ll probably never eat here again.

When we pulled into Flagstaff, it was 49 degrees, and rainy. A tad on the cold side for us Phoenicians. However, we were on the last leg home and we wanted to grab a late lunch, along with some hot soup to warm us up. We spotted this establishment as we were driving through the main thoroughfare. We were in a hurry to get home, and this place would fit the bill as we didn’t have any high expectations. We both had the lunch combos, and the Won Ton Soups that they came with were just what we were needing. The place is quite drab, and the food isn’t anything special or spectacular. However, the server was quite efficient and attentive. We were in and out of there in under 30 minutes.

Only good things to say! We stopped in on a whim traveling through — best General Tso’s chicken I’ve ever had — the Mongolian Beef was also delicious. Despite being very busy, we were greeted very promptly and served with a smile. Very good experience — great price — I will be back :-)

They didn’t do anything wrong but everything was so mediocre. Décor inside is drab and despite being full of people it was oddly quiet… some quiet background music or something may have helped, it felt like we were eating in a library. I was afraid to talk any louder than a very quiet whisper to my dining companions. I ordered dinner b: sweet and sour shrimp with hot and sour soup and spring rolls. Spring rolls were alright, they tasted like they had been bought from Costco or something, edible but not something I’d expect from a restaurant. Shrimp had a weird texture… chewy and almost gristle-y, odd. Batter was weird and soggy. I can’t justify giving a one-star review because as I said, they didn’t do anything wrong, the food just wasn’t that good.

Enter restaurant … Me:(Taking a deep breath) Niece: What are you doing? Me: Smelling. I can always smell a good Chinese restaurant. Let’s see. My senses detect soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger but very light on the garlic, onions, and sesame seed oil. Niece: You can smell all those ingredients? Me: Yes. I was taught traditional Chinese cooking and can tell you if a restaurant is good or not. (We both order the same dinner special … Beef Lo Mein) After dinner … Niece: How was it auntie? Me: Noodles were a bit over-cooked. Egg drop soup was bland. Egg rolls were okay. Overall, it’s okay. Would I return? Not as long as I can cook this at home.

For your sake, don’t eat here. The stories I could tell you about this place. If you want your bowels intact and your stomach feeling fine, I would go elsewhere. It is not a great place to eat. The kitchen is dirty, the place is not amazing, and the food is so oily you can feel it coming out of your pores. I had a friend who worked there and the horror stories she would tell. Avoid this place.

This is the second time I have been here, however it is the first time I ordered off the Chinese menu, which wasn’t present the first time I came here about 3 years ago. Décor wise, it is a very interesting building and looks like a small barn at first glance which gives the perception that it is a rustic place. However Inside the décor provides the feel of an authentic Chinese restaurant which runs contrary to its outward appearance. But really, what’s more important is the food. As for the food, while the offerings on the menu were definitely authentic, the food didn’t taste really authentic, and seemed to be catered more to an Americanized version of Chinese food than otherwise. No biggie, but just be warned that this is not the most authentic tasting. My companion and I ordered a 2 person chicken meal which came with noodles and a chicken broth sauce. It was ok, but it was a tad too spicy for me. However i am a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff, and this was as mild as they come, so if you like spicy food, you will probably enjoy this The country style tofu on the other hand, was very delicious, and there was an ample amount of tofu and vegetables which I liked very much. The sauce was a tad too thick and starchy to me, however that doesn’t take away from its excellence. As for the service, it was ok. The restaurant had a few patrons scattered around in it, but it wasn’t crowded, and there seemed to be two women waiting tables. Our server was polite and prompt when it came to our orders, however she did not come around to refill our waters and needed to be prompted to do so. She seemed preoccupied with other things apart from serving our table Overall it was a pretty decent experience, but I wouldn’t consciously seek it out again unless here was no other option.

pretty okay, I wanted to come here because it looked like a barn plus it is next to Starbucks! The wontons were creamy it was a nice difference from other places. I had the sesame ckn, it came with broccoli. It was okay, the good part it had no breading. My friend had the curry ckn he said was okay and it had some big chucks. I liked that the mom, dad and I think daughter were visible In the restaurant, to me it makes it feel more home(y).
