Old Village Grille

Having had a bad experience years ago, I was a little hesitant to try again, but let me just say… wow. Not sure if the owners are the same as a few years ago, but everything was 10x better than before. Service is excellent, never an empty coffee cup, and the food is yummy.
My favorite thing is the huge selection on benny’s! Do yourself a favor and get the sausage & biscuit benny. By far, my absolute favorite! The portions are huge!
It is a small place, so if there are a lot of cars, be prepared to wait a little bit. The wait is worth it!

Scrambled eggs with corned beef hash… very good standard … A lot of both with whole grain toast. Cinnamon raisin French toast very good too… the special apple, granola, oatmeal pancakes insanely good!!! Reuben omelette excellent!!! They prepare whatever you want, however you want it… you can be as healthy or decadent as you want. Staff friendly, quick, efficient and knowledgeable about the food (thank you Ellen!). Absolutely recommend!!! Oh, prices? A bargain!

Omg, Over the top pancakes. 3 strawberry blueberry banana pancakes stood 4″ high. Delicious!

This is a great place if you like large portions of unhealthy, low-​quality food. I was expecting healthier options and a less tired, more interesting dining area.

I have been here now several times. It’s a halfway spot to meet my brother. I’m in MA & he’s in CT. This place is great. I’ve never had a bad meal (only eaten items off the breakfast menu). Not only do they have an extensive menu with many Benedicts & omelettes, also pancakes and French toast plus check out the specials board for more. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the Manager. We were there today with my parents & she noticed birthday cards we had given them (2 Scorpios… Scary) while dropping off the check. She told us to stay put & she brought out 2 big dishes of ice cream for them with extra spoons for all of us to share. Very nice gesture. Only cons: Be aware it is a small place & only one table will accommodate a party of 6 the rest are smaller tables & booths. On my weekend visits it has been hit or miss, Crazy crowded or not. You may have to wait or may be seated immediately. Pros Good parking as well.

We were heading to Brimfield, on 9÷11÷15, to check out the antique show and Googled for nearby restaurants. We decided to stop in at the Old Village Grille and we were not disappointed. Very friendly staff, portions were huge and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend! Next time we head to Brimfield we will definitely stop here to eat first.

Was here yesterday, and the food was great. Super thick pancakes, large portions, well priced.
My lobster omelette was jam packed full of lobster to the point where it created a large fist sized mound, and the homefries were wonderful. S.O. got one of the combos, and he was stuffed after the meal (which doesn’t happen often), and the little one got a chocolate chip pancake, which was bigger than his head, and stomach.
Definitely worth the visit if you’re in the Sturbridge area.

Second time they were out of the crab cake Benedict, so I went back to the lobster and the meat was pretty ground up– unlike my previous review and picture. Still one of the best breakfast places in the area.

This is a great mom and pop type of place. Everyone makes you feel like a regular! We come here on many Sunday Morning for breakfast. The portions are large and the price is very fair.
Also, when we are running late, we just order lunch. Their burgers are large and juicy. You really can’t go wrong.

From a.m. to p.m. you’ll get great food and service. Pancakes are huge, fried clams are the best that I have eaten, including those in Ipswich that Yankee mag raves about. On Sunday, all the fish bought on Friday is offered at reduced price until gone. Busy place worth stopping at.

New breakfast fave– the biscuit benny! This mass of epic deliciousness delivers two enormous biscuits and two equally gigantic sausage patties, topped with two poached eggs and tons of hollandaise sauce! And– there’s a mass of home fries on the side. This was just amazing! I have no idea how many calories were in that thing, but, I don’t care. It was delicious and filling. I had this for breakfast around 7:30 am and I didn’t have to chow again that day until about 4:30 in the afternoon. Bring your appetite. This place is awesome.

Cannot get better… stumbled upon this awesome restaurant while visiting a friend in Sturbridge… we were on the way home to New York when we thought to give it a try… BEST DECISION EVER… unbelievable service. portions and mouth watering dishes… just spectacular… will be back…

Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, the quality of the food and service is spectacular! I had the veggie omelet with the potatoes, my friend got the french and we got the egg with some type of crab cake to share. Needless to say we couldn’t finish our food lol the portions here are MASSIVE and everything was delicious! You most definitely get your moneys worth!

Okay, I guess my review at this place is long overdue. Truthfully for my own guilty pleasure — I felt it was my own secret breakfast eatery, but the word obviously got out. (This location used to have another breakfast place that we liked, but since moved) — I felt like I wanted to try it since it’s closer to home and a good spot on the weekday or weekend morning.
Especially on weekends, between sport family’s and church attendants, the place usually fills up fast and it’s not too long of a wait, but if you want seat I suggest you come before the rush or after. The service is awesome, sometimes you see only 1 – 2 waitresses hustling, but she does an excellent job covering the floor. We are now repeat customers and are recognized; but I’m trying to be as unbiased now as possible: I’ve tried almost everything on the menu; but my partner and I are breakfast people so we can’t really comment on the lunches.
Everything is top notch, you get way more than what other restaurants give you for the same price; there have been many occasions where we just have to take the rest home. The food is served hot, nothing I’ve ever had from their kitchen was cooled off and have been sitting at the window longer than 3 – 5 minutes.
The variety of Eggs-​Benedict is awesome: (My Kryptonite)

If I could say anything negative, but is trivial:
The creamers aren’t always colder than room temperature (more important in the summer time) and once it curdled, but I received an replacement coffee/​creamer right away.
Parking isn’t bad, but sometimes is congested due to traffic from the adjacent business and the one-​way arrows are faint, so sometimes people go out the in it creates an awkward moment, but the locals know it and work around it.
Wish they were open 7 Days a week, but they are closed Monday (which was one of my only days off until recently).

Found this place on a whim while traveling through the area after an afternoon of leaf peeping. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere quaint and unimposing, and the food was terrific and plentiful. We will definitely give this find our business again.

9÷7÷14 very busy, yet waitress worked hard, and the food was wonderful. For $ 1.50 more you can substitute grilled vegetables for the home fries/​toast… this is a great option

We had barely opened the door, let alone walked in when we received a very enthusiastic and friendly greeting from behind the counter. I was thinking were off to a great start. At the insistence of my five year old we sidled up to the counter and immediately had menus placed in front of us and our drink order was placed. While checking out the menu,
I noticed that there was only one waitress for the six parties seated in the dining room and thought, maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all. I need not have worried. Service was never an issue. We placed our order and had breakfast placed in front of us without delay. She somehow managed to be attentive to us all,
I enjoyed the Bourbon Steak Tips and Eggs. The meat was cooked medium as requested and tasted delicious. There was plenty of food on my plate as I left with a full and happy belly. Prices were reasonable.
If you are in the area, this would be a great place to stop in for a meal.
