Five Star Nails

I’m extremely picky when it comes to nails, Anna and Kinny are the best! I live in Florida half the year but will always wait to have my nails done with these guys! Kinny also very entertaining.

I’ve never written a review on Unilocal before but after my treatment today I felt I should. I have been to 5 Star Nails several times before and have had a good experience. I usually only get my nails done for special occasions so I’m far from being a regular. I took my daughter in today to get her nails done for prom and figured I would get a regular manicure while I was there as a treat. It was kind of busy but my daughter was called after maybe 15 minutes so I should have been next. Several people came in after me — two were regulars — and each one was called before me. The first person called was getting her nails filled so I thought maybe they called her since hers was more time consuming. What do I know. By now my daughter is almost finished and they call a 2^nd person (she was meeting friends who were already getting their nails done), and then a 3^rd person. What the hell?! My daughter was finished so I told them to just cancel my service. Instead of apologizing all I got was an «Okay.» Wow. I’m not one to make a scene so I just said it was pretty rude that they passed over me and left. If that’s how an occasional customer is treated I don’t think I’ll be back.

Always searching for a quality nail salon when I’m in new towns (travel for a living). The hotel recommended Five Stars and they did not disappoint. Pedicure was relaxing and Kenny was 100% spot on with my gel French Manicure!!!
The environment was great, very clean, and very welcomed by the entire staff!

Definitely won’t return! Horrible job on acrylics and not to mention the guy was rough and rude!

I wouldn’t go any place else. I actually drive about 20 minutes and pass at least five other nail salons to get here. Kenny has been doing my manicure and pedicure for over two years. I go every two weeks. The atmosphere is great! Everyone is always accommodating my needs. And believe me I’m very high maintenance. I’m provided a variety of nail color options and they even help you match up the colors. I’m always satisfied with my gel nails and my pedicure. I’m telling you, check this place out. You’ll be so glad you did.

I got the Shellac Manicure and after 3 days my nails started to break in half. The brand of polish was horrible and so was he when I asked him to redo my nails with a different polish. He made up every excuse not to, «you didn’t get your Nails done here, well our policy says 3 days max, well if you change the color we can’t do it. After all of the excuses I walked out. Kenny is really rude and showed horrible customer service. This is certainly no way to treat a customer.
While writing the initial post, the owner Kenny discovered this review while his wife was finishing up my feet. Unbelievably he was soooo upset he started cursing me out and told me to get out, he didn’t ever want to see my face, etc. I have him recorded on my phone as proof for anyone who would like to see it. I Ran out of the Store in Tears, hurt, and confused about it all!!. This entire experience ruined my Valentine’s Day and 7^th year Anniversary. It’s so sad how EVIL Unfair and Unethical people can be. I would hope anyone reading this would not want to support such a Disrespectful man who doesn’t value his customers or have any respect for Women. Reminder this was all due to me asking for a re polish service worth 5 minutes of his time and a $ 8 cash value. Hopefully something good will come out of this review/​post and force him to go Over and Beyond and provide nothing less than 5 star Service for anyone else who chooses to go here! According to all the reviews they are definitely Inconsistent in providing 5 STAR Services and need to do BETTER.

Perfect place for a pedicure. Friday at 5pm was right before the rush hit. They did a professional job and the facility was very clean. The massage chairs were not worn out and were completely functional.
$ 27 for a pedicure. Perfect price for the relaxation that we were looking for.

Five Star Nails has been under new management for a while now. They are doing an AMAZING job. I work on the south side and live north… but I will only come to this store. I get pink & whites, and they have a top coat that won’t let your nails turn yellow. It works, even in the tanning bed. Others come in for manis & pedis… everyone I’ve seen in there leaves happy with the work.

I love this salon. It is a great place. I have gone to salons all over the country and their new pedicure chairs are by far the coolest ever. Maybe some of the other local salons will catch up but until they do there is not a better place for a pedicure. I also get a fill and gel polish. The work is exceptional and lasts forever.

I’ve gone 2 different times for pedis bc of a coupon in the mail. The first time was nice. Had a girl who was friendly. I like to get designs on my big toe but the art was pretty bad for the extra $ 5.
The 2^nd time I went, the older guy I had did a great massage but made me bleed while he was cutting my cuticles. He painted on my skin and didnt clean it up very well. The design on my big toe looked like a kindergarten’s version of a flower. Went home and took it off right away.
Another guy that works there is very loud and obnoxious. He thinks he is funny but it is not very relaxing for him to be so loud. I will not be going back.

The only reason that I am leaving one out of five stars is because I feel sympathetic for the individuals who work with the HORRIBLE nail technician who did my nails last week. I scheduled an apopintment for 7 PM during a weeknight last week. I think that may have been my first mistake since they close at 8 and were obviously inconvenienced to have last minute business. Even though most nail services don’t take more than an hour if you know what you are doing. I was not greeted upon entering, but was forcefully directed to a chair immediately after entering the salon. There were two people manning the shop and multiple customers were turned away for business within the hour that I sat there. The nail technician was asked to do a full set with gel polish on top. I wanted indestructable nails for my sister’s wedding that weekend. He would not do the gel polish because he claimed that regular polish would not chip on acrylic nails. I really wonder if he didn’t want to do it because he simply did not know how to work the gel polish. If I had a picture of what my nails looked like the following day… you would agree that regular polish can indeed chip off of acrylic nails. I argued with him for a moment but gave up bc he was incredibly rude and aggressive with me. During the initial manicuring he would shake my hand and grunt something like «relax, ughh» about every 3 minutes. To make a long story short… my nals looked horrible and still do. After asking him to shorten them two times, I gave up bc he was so irritated that I was asking for specific things that he had to take a short break in the back room mid-​nails. I assure you I am a very polite person. At one point a large spec of dirt landed on my wet polish and he tried to clear coat over it. I had to block my hand from him and ask him to clean it off before he cemented it to my nail. He took remover and rubbed the polish off the side with the dirt… and then proceeded to clear coat over a half painted nail. He called me a liar when I told him it looked odd and had to do a side by side comparison of two nails to convince him to please re-​do it. Conveniently for me, he was rotating between my nails and another client so while he was gone I took his supplies and remove the polish and repainted my own nail. He caught me and yelled at me which made me incredible unconfortable, but at that point I was desparate to get the job done and leave. I told him to stop painting my nails, stuck myself under the dryer and left shooken up bc the man was literally scaring me he was so hostile. Other employees may be better, but the atmosphere of the salon was less than par. In general, I would recommend NEVER taking a chance at this salon. It may have been the most dissapointing $ 35 I have ever spent.
