Our group of 7 hungry hikers ate at this restaurant which is owned by Tenaya Lodge. I found it to be over priced and tasteless. The pizza dough tasted like cardboard and the topping weren’t much better. It was over priced as well. I would recommend they find a new chef. We also ordered the salad bar. It was ok but also pricey when you are feeding 4 kids at $ 10.00 per salad. I do not recommend this restaurant.

After seeing previous reviews we were hesitant to go and get pizza here! As I feared the pizza was just ok. I asked for a crispy crust and the bottom and edges were burned. Strange and tasteless as pizzas go. It’s hard to mess up a four cheese pizza isn’t it? I hope that Tenaya Lodge who now owns this place(part of old Apple Tree Inn) gets their act together with it! Tenaya is a great place and although their restaurants are pricey, the food is very good! The pizza joint needs a redo too.

Very nice people but TERRIBLE pizza. They are experimenting with«better» crust but it tasted like Bisquick! Salad bar ok but overpriced.

Pizza was better than most reviewed here. Loaded with toppings and two 10″ pizzas were nice for variety and served a family of four. Salad bar offered a nice selection of toppings – fresh veggies and even had candied walnuts. Service was good. I’d recommend this place. Very convenient as we stayed in the cottages and was a close walk!

No. The Lodge obviously has a captive audience, and no evidence of this is more sad than the pizza at this establishment. The pros: Our waitress was attentive and good natured, and the atmosphere was reasonably pleasant. Otherwise, the pizza, which took a loooong time to arrive, had a crust that tasted as if it had arrived frozen and had been thawed and refrozen for weeks. It was astoundingly stale and tasteless. This would have been tolerable had it been disguised by the rest of the pizza. We asked for extra sauce, but that didn’t happen. The pepperoni and other toppings were OK. But it was all ruined by the crust. The $ 10 endless salad bar had very few choices, but the quality was fine. This bad meal was expensive: the large pizzas are about $ 24, and a draft beer is $ 7.50. Our bill for three was more than $ 80. Skip it. If you can’t, ask when the crust was made. As a last resort, get thin crust to minimize the damage and ask for extra sauce.

This place is connected to Tenaya Lodge which is where we were staying. Due to the weather we decided to try Timberloft. We ordered their version of a combination and one salad bar. I personally am a big fan of thin crust pizza, and this was some of this thinnest and crispiest crust I’ve ever had. The toppings lacked a bit in flavor and the sauce was lacking. Overall, I would call the pizza ok. The salad bar was good. Service was fine, the place was clean, and they have a free jukebox and several big screen tvs. It was fine as a save, but you can probably get better pizza 13 miles back in Olivehurst.

Pizza is not even cook. The staffs were so confused. And they called this a pizza place? Trust me if you really have to eat then no choice. But don’t even think about it.

Ridiculously overpriced sub-mediocre pizza. I guess they can charge whatever they want because there’s nothing else around. Good service– that’s why I’m giving two stars.

Took a takeout to our cottage, the pizza was good compared to the other takeout places in Yosemite.

This place is only open May 1st through early September. We are currently at Tenaya right now we wanted pizza but the place hasn’t been open all season so half of these reviews are lies. Peeps who posted the past two weeks to few months please tell me what you were smoking up here I want some the place hasn’t been open since last fall according to the hotel.

We read the reviews before we went hoping it would be better then the reviews, but it wasn’t. The pizza tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for days! Seriously, think twice before you go. Given that we are staying in the middle of the woods at a hotel food is expensive so best to choose wisely where you eat. This was not worth the money. My fiancé says: «if there is one meal in your life that you should throw up … it was that one!»

The worst pizza I have EVER had! A TV dinner or microwaved leftover burrito would have been better. I’m in shock about how low this rates on the gastro scale. Staff was super attentive and friendly. Pizza chef even came out to ask people how things were. No one had the heart to tell them how much it sucked, even me. I managed a timid ‘ok’. My Midwest college pizzeria after bar menu was gourmet and delish next to this. It was almost impossible to cut the crust with a knife? Too thick, doughy, undercooked. I asked them to put mine back in oven, but it only helped minimally. It was warm and cheesy, and it is located within tenaya lodge minutes from where I was staying — I’ll give it that. If they didn’t have beer it would be a complete bust. A tragic fail!

Sad. This place should be so much better. They have a captive audience of people/families staying at tenaya lodge and it’s practically the only place around, so why so bad?!? Pizza crust tastes like cardboard made in advance. Then seems as if they throw sauce, poor quality toppings, awful cheese and pass it briefly under a heat lamp. I don’t get it. They can’t even melt the cheese??? So weird. And you can tell folks in the restaurant were being nice and wanted to enjoy their dinners, but. .. Yuck! It was insulting. They really couldn’t make it much worse. That said, staff was nice and the place was very clean, so I guess it could have been worse. I very much hope this place improves. It wouldn’t take much. Better ingredients and a working oven. Please! I hope to get back there some day so I hope it gets better.

We drove by this place this morning and it looked really nice so we decided to go there for dinner on the way back from a long hike. $ 10 for all you can eat salad and the salad bar has like 8 things on it, definitely not worth $ 10. The pizza crust was the best thing on the pizza and it was mediocre at best. All the toppings were cheap and tasteless. And to top it off it the pizza was barely even warm. We got the ‘timberloft special’ it was like $ 26 for a 16″ pizza. I would have rather bought 5 hot n readys because at least it would have been worth the priceI paid. So basically bad food, expensive for want you get, service is HORRIBLE(thanks Grace) and it was just weird that they give you paper plates and a disposable plastic bowl for the salad bar.

Timberloft made our stay! Family came up from out of town and wanted to check out Teneya Lodge, so we joined them and got a room too! We heard there was a pizza joint on the premises, so we headed down all 8 of us. Pizza was some of the best we had ever had! Oohs and ahhs the whole time. I indulged in the salad bar and it was most definitely legitimate. TV’s, free jukebox, cool layout and decorations. Cool mountain feel. I’ve been a server and bartender for a long time; our service was fantastic with a smile, Jessica was her name. We charged the bill to our room which was pretty cool also. Next time your at Teneya, check out Timberloft! We had a raging good time. Thanks!

I’m baffled by all the negative reviews. Pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven in authentic Neapolitan style. Crust is supposed to be light and thin so it cooks thoroughly and quickly at high temperature. I can only assume that some reviewers are using Dominos as their standard of excellence. Service was fast and our server was polite and professional. The atmosphere could be improved with better seating/lighting, but they did a good job with seasonal décor. Hours are variable, so call ahead.

Pizza tasted really good, but this is after hiking miles in the day. You must set your expectations this is a place in the middle of nowhere if you are looking for«foodie» pizza. But if you are really hungry and want a «standard pizza» it hits the spot. Key for this place is it is right outside Yosemite park if you are visiting the Mariposa Grove area. Main dislike — the servers all sitting out on the balcony as you walk in smoking. Not the end of the world, but not great either.

Timberloft Pizzeria is where I overheard the true definition of ARTISANAL. Server: What style of pizza? Uh… it’s ARTISANAL. Customer: What’s arty-snail? Server: Umm… ARTISANAL. It’s like custom hand-made. So artisanal is like… well like… we make it here. And it’s artisanal cause… cause sometimes it’ll be like THICK pizza. And sometimes it’ll be like THIN pizza. And like sometimes, cause it’s artisanal, the pizza will be like real thick in one part and real thin in another. Cause it’s ARTISANAL. definition: artisanal(ärt-ze-nel) adj.: poorly made or made without regard to quality

Okay Unilocalers– I was almost scared off by the reviews of this place– but come on Elites. this is a pizzeria in the middle of the Sierra mountains– its not Brooklyn. With that said, this was a fine establishment for what it was. Yes, the crust was a bit bland, but the toppings were tasty & they offer unique pizza choices(our had balsamic vinegar drizzled on top– yum!). The staff is very friendly, and food arrived in an average amount of time. If you are walking over from the Tenaya Lodge, the signage can be confusing. but don’t give up– the pizzeria does exist. Just stay to your left… ;o) A good family place to stop and fuel up. Don’t expect 4 stars– just enjoy the pizza and friendly staff!
