I’ve been here twice and both times the customer service is lacking. We went here last night for my birthday and our server never checked on us and took FOREVER bringing us our check(we were convinced he hated us). I had to go to the bar to order my drinks… But even then, I was told by the bartender that she would relay the message to our server who had to place the drink order. My drink finally came after my food arrived… Which by then, I was over even having a «birthday drink». The food quality does not live up to the price you pay for it. Basic fries, hamburgers are good, but not $ 16 good(I’m too cheap to get anything else). The only reason I would return is on our way home from Yosemite to stop and get drinks at the bar. The bar area is pretty cool with a nice nature atmosphere. I’ll go for drinks, but never for dinner/food ever again.

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Prices are crazy but I could tolerate them if they food was decent. Unfortunately, the service and food was sub par. Service was beyond slow considering the restaurant was close to empty, our waitress vanished for a good 10 minutes, and when we asked the bus boy where she was, he simply stated that we weren’t the first people to complain about this same thing with her disappearing. I had to ask for napkins twice, chopsticks twice and extra olives twice. And while she was apologetic for continuing to forget things, that didn’t stop it from happening consistently. You would think she would start writing things down after the second thing she forgot, but that never happened. Finally, our food arrived and it was not worth the wait. $ 24 tofu stir fry was bland, kids had pasta dishes and both of them threw up an hour later. My husband had the rigatoni and it was the only reason I am giving one star. Probably the only edible thing we had. I would hope the owners read these reviews because I am definitely seeing a theme of slow, forgetful service and dried out, overcooked food.

«Yummy cocktail»(Dec’2015) Jackalope’s Bar and Grill is a nice restaurant. Though we didn’t picked this as our first choice but we ended up here. They have good food, great cocktail, and they have things to cater our kids from waiting, at least they didn’t get bored.

Food is so overpriced, selection really limited and just not that good. $ 10 just for a kids meal… and 15 – 20 for a ok salad or sandwich. Problem is, only place to eat at tenaya lodge. :(.

Warning ahead of time! Portions are HUGE! We ordered the Nachos, Wings, and Tofu with Rice and it was so much food, we could barely finish despite the fact that we were famished. Desert is great, the spiced molten lava cake is sure to satisfy every chocolate lover! I was hesitant when I read the reviews but the restaurant is great and I think relatively reasonably priced for the convenience and the quantity of food you receive!

Great location inside our hotel, but if your wallet had eyes they would gouge its eyes out. Everything here seems to be made well which is great, it just seems like your paying for a James Beard awarded restaurant. The place is decorated nicely with all the wood work and the nicely decorated bar. I had a BBQ burger which waa cooked to perfection with just the regular fries, which were well made. My lids had a little bit of everything from their wings, the kids chiclen strips and a house salad. Everything was made nice and looked appealing. My inlaws had the BLTA with sweet potato fries and the Philly cheese steak, which I guess wasn’t that tender. The drinks were definately not a flowing. We were served water but didnt receive any refills. The waitress seemed lillke she was on top of everything besides the drinks and our to go order. Overall my review is based off of the price and the little things here and there. So 4 stars overall.

Came in expecting standard hotel fare. The grilled cheese and soup were spectacular and the French onion soup(with a mountain of cheese on top) was fabulous as well

This is a great restaurant hidden inside a wonderful hotel. Being vegetarian it’s always a challenge finding great grub but this was superb. They even had Vegan entrees. My wife and I ended up fighting over the Superb black bean burger. The pasta Rigatoni was divine(minus the sausage of course). Our little ones loved the tomato soup and Caprese Flatbread = mini pizza. Great margaritas as well. Superb, wonderful restaurant. Bravo to chef Frederick Clabaugh. Great family fare.

Had a great lunch at this cozy bar & grill. Beautiful patio, great views, good service. Part of the Tenaya Lodge, a nice location if you’re visiting Yosemite. I had a burger & salad. Very fresh. Huge burger. A relaxing and yummy lunch!

The trademark of any good restaurant is consistency. We did not get this here. One night, we had fantastic burgers and perfectly done sweet potato fries. The very next night, had bland sandwiches and the fries were undercooked and soggy. Prices are reasonable for a resort but the second dinner gives me pause to go back again. They also messed up both our orders and that of a diner we were with. The supervisor caught wind of this and made the necessary corrections as well as comp’ing us both a beer. Kudos to her.

Our Burgers were the perfect reward after a long hiking day! They were not the best burgers we ever had but reasonably good. The sweet potato fries were delicious, but also no magic! The best was the cookie pizza for dessert, which obviously has like a million calories but calories taste good, especially when they come in the form of soft cookie dough, fudge and vanilla ice cream! :)

This restaurant is OK, it’s not a place you need to go out of the way to visit. But if your staying in the hotel it’s probably the most adorable place within the hotel.

Well I was not at all surprised at the garbage food they served at this place. The service is really good which is a shame because the food is awful. I got the tri tip well done — as you will see from the picture I posted it was pretty much rare. They did recook it but due to the annoying experience I have had thus far at this hotel I’ve lost my appetite. The waitress was lovely and the Stella Artois was good — but my heavens this place needs a major overhaul. For the prices here this place must make a killing! Plus we sat inside and flies were all over my food! My son also ordered a BLTA without the A, what do you think came out? Yes you guessed it a BLT with the A! I think it’s time to call it a night and go to bed.

Expensive and not worth your time, however it’s the best of the worst at Tenaya Lodge. If you’re staying here and need some dinner you can either eat here or drive 25mins to the next closest restaurant, so sometimes it’s better to just suck it up, pay $$$ for mediocre food, and tell yourself«Oh well.» I can’t recommend anything as everything we had(nachos, wings, burgers, etc.) was just mediocre. They have a decent beer menu so at least that was a bit of a positive.

We’ve been to Jackalope’s the past two nights for dinner. While they are on the expensive side for what they are, the food is pretty good. It’s also one of the only options for dining in Fish Camp(and the cheaper of the three restaurants inside of Tenaya Lodge), so knowing that I can see how they can charge what they do. Night 1: we shared the Tomato Bisque Soup and the BLTA and they were both good. Night 2: my husband ordered the Fish ‘n Chips. He said it’s one of the best he’s had. Their fries were really good with sea salt on them. I ordered the Sasquatch Burger. It comes with 36oz patties, bacon and 3 different cheeses! It was fantastic! The patties were juicy, the ciabatta roll was soft and the bacon cooked to crispy perfection! I couldn’t have asked for more. I only finished 2⁄3 of it because I couldn’t stop eating the french fries! The service was fine, no complaints there. Just make sure you check in at the front reception area and don’t seat yourself(they won’t necessarily know you are there if you do that). They have a big fireplace outside with tables surrounding it which adds to the nice mountain ambiance. We may just go back tonight for a third night in a row!

Calamari was not good! Over cooked! Sauce nothing special just shrimp cocktail sauce. The table next to us found a hair in her food after eating half of it. At least they took it off their bill. My soda was flat. Food came out fairly quick, then you don’t see anyone til the bill comes. And she short changed me, so that came out of her tip.

We came here to eat dinner two nights in a row while we were visiting Yosemite. There weren’t many restaurant options in Fish Camp(south of Yosemite), so this was one of the few options. It’s located inside Tenaya Lodge(hotel), on the 1st floor. Out of the 3 restaurants inside the hotel, this one was the most casual. We got seated immediately and here’s what we ordered over the course of 2 meals there: 1st night (1) Chicken wings — comes with hot sauce on the side, celery, carrot sticks, ranch and blue cheese dressing. the wings are very breaded and deeply fried, but so tasty, especially when you’re hungry. (2) Tomato soup — my husband had this item and said it was decent (3) Philly Cheesesteak — yes the philly cheesesteak was good, bread was soft, but I didn’t feel like the sandwich was big enough! haha… 2nd night (4) chicken wings again — yes, they were tasty and good portion size for the price(about $ 1 per wing) (5) chicken & wild rice soup — husband ordered this and said it was good, but it looks as though it came right out of a can instead of being homemade (6) California burger, with avocado and bacon — yes, the burger was good, typical burger with soft bread, nothing too special but sufficed. the price is expensive at $ 14.50 ah! Service here is fabulous, the waiters are prompt and helpful. What we liked the best is that they would split our entrée order(split the burger or cheesesteak into two portions) without us even asking! How awesome is that? :) While the food is just regular and maybe a 3.5 star overall, the service here helps to bump up the rating to 4 stars for this restaurant. You will not be disappointed at this establishment, especially given it’s one of the few places in Fish Camp! Nothing else to compare to, you know?

Meh Meh and Meh is all I can say. Service was hit or miss. Always overpriced. Quality of food was cheap. Beers on tap were sometimes«working» sometimes«broken.» Staff knowledge about what was working«or not» was hit or miss. They let some people in with caged pets, and some people got very upset that they couldn’t bring theirs into the restaurant. This is not the fault of the staff — i think they were trying to do their best to accommodate people, but the hotel has a lousy pet policy. I get that the closest dining options to the hotel are 30 miles or more away, but it’s just gouging at this point. If you’re staying at the hotel, pack as much food for a microwave as you can – you’ll be doing yourself a huge financial and culinary favor.

Excellent restaurant.

Completely overpriced because you are basically at their mercy in terms of places to eat. Frankly, it is worth the drive back into Oakhurst if you have the time for dinner. However, we ate here for light meals twice and everything we had was OK. The nachos were good and so was the Tanaya salad and lettuce wraps. Nothing mind-blowing but the portions were good-sized and it was fine. I thought the lettuce wraps were too sweet so you’ll definitely need hot sauce. Hubs really liked the the South Gate Tanaya Red on draught. The wine list is pretty standard. I was hoping for a little more variety since we were in a nice lodge in California– less than an hour from wine country. Service at the bar was great. If I ever return, I will probably get the nachos again.
