It’s really the only place to dance on the weekends in the Pines unless you are going to a house party. It’s entered via a back alley near the harbor. You go up the stairs and there you are. No cover. Two bars. The dance floor can get very crowded on weekends as you can imagine. The DJ was fine the night I went. Decent ventilation but you can always step into the outdoor area to get a break. I believe it’s open until 4am.

Good crowd. Good music. Friendly bartenders. Prices are what you might expect in Manhattan, but hey, this is an island too.

That planters punch is the devil’s brew! Friendly staff and the dj mix was pretty good. Reminded me of Boxers in Manhattan except more wood and less clothes.

I came here with my friend for the first time Memorial Day weekend of this year. I’ve been back here once since then. Both times were pretty cool. Dj Lina is the resident DJ and she’s so nice! We took a pic with her on MDW and she was nice enough to have a casual convo with us when we came back the 2nd time. Her music is great and really sets a loving and warm vibe. As far as the bar goes there’s an outdoor deck to dance and hang out and also a larger area inside. There’s also two bars to get drinks from. As a straight girl the only downfall was the bathroom situation. The only stall was located in the place that was open was at the end of this hallway with multiple urinals, kind of awkward but it did the job!

Don’t like the new décor and the staff are a bunch of snobs. If you are NOT a far left progressive, go there at your own risk!

Fun times on an upstairs floor of a sparkling new building relatively untouched by Sandy — so new, in fact, that the wooden beams still smell fresh. There’s a large indoor dance hall and a compact outdoor deck, both of which are packed to the brim for«high tea» on weekends and when there’s a good DJ. Especially DJ Lina, who Toan N. and Elliott J. are spot-on about. Absolutely electrifying. Toan is also right about the sturdiness of the outdoor deck, but shakin’ and groovin’ — as the entire building lurches precariously in sync with your every move — is all part of the fun, isn’t it? ;)

The new High Tea, Sip & Twirl now boasts a modern interior and an updated deck where resident DJ Lina Bradford spins soulful classics to a disco beat. They built it. We came.

Sip & Twirl is a good place to relax and not worry about what the other person is wearing or whether what I’m wearing is appropriate. The scene is very laid back. The bartenders appear to know 90% of the customers. The drink prices are reasonable and the music is chill. The DJ, Lina Bradford aka DJ Lina, was super friendly and genuine. I showed up when it was still a bit early, but it was perfect for me because I do not like large crowds. I would give Sip & Twirl the maximum 5 stars, but 1 star is deducted for the«not so sturdy» dance floor deck. The deck can shake, rattle, and rumble with every little step. One would hope the deck has passed this year’s building inspection.
