This is must stop! When I am visiting Findlay Ohio, I must get a Wilson special burge. Famous hand spanked burger cooked on the grill. Wilson’s have not lost their touch in cooking burges. Fast, hot off the grill and good. Not all that special — but serve consistently the same way since the day Wilson’s opened in 1936.

I would have granted 5 stars, but the bathroom door didn’t lock so I opened up the door and showed the entire line a patron’s business. However, the burger and malt were amazing… especially the burger. I had a single special with cheese, and it was gone before I knew it. The only lackluster part of the meal was the small chili, which was quite salty. I hadn’t visited Wilson’s since the mid 90’s when we used to cruise ‘the circuit’ and devour fries and a frosted malt. I’m glad it was just as good as I remembered.

The hamburgers are great as are the fries and onion rings. Food is five stars. Reason for the three stars is to average out the one star for service/friendlieness of staff. The staff is pretty rude and pushy here. Another drawback is they don’t take plastic so remember your wallet and no refills on soft drinks.

After coming here more often, I’ve perfected my ordering skills. I don’t get the onion rings anymore because I might as well just drink oil. I still get the fries though since they’re AMAZING. At my most recent visits, they remember to put in my daily dose of veggies. I also recommend eating in and not going through the drive through!

Wonderful basic burger place. Burgers are cooked perfectly. Fries great. You have to answer lots of questions about your order so be prepared to tell them you want lettuce and mayo and such. Staff can be friendly. Lunch hour can be full and busy. When in Findlay try this place.

Can’t beat a local burger ! This place was quick and good. It’s your average burger joint with hot dogs or hamburgers maybe a couple other items too. Not really much to say, crave a burger, get in and get out. Boom.

Wilson’s Sandwich Shop A local burger restaurant that’s been around for ever! Great food, great malts, great fries and great chili. The burgers patties are ground and formed, in the walk-in cooler from premium beef. The chili beans are hand sorted, the chili is completely home made. The pies are even freshly baked daily! A few presidents have eaten here, with their pictures hanging on the wall. Wendy’s is definitely a spin off of Wilson’s. Dave actually worked at Wilson’s to get the idea for Wendy’s! That’s why Wendy’s has burgers, fries, malts, and chili. Just a fun place to have lunch.

first time here. so we ordered chili dogs and fries and small malts. all were yummy, not typical of what we were used to but oddly satisfying and left us wanting more even though we were full. i can see why its a classic, the prices were extremely reasonable for how good the food is.

Been eating there since I was a child, starting with the original building. Spent many years in Lima and ate at Kewpee. Historically related, and very similar. Quality up and down but new ownership seems very committed. Live 100 miles away now, but have to stop every time i’m in town. Can be a bit greasy, but that’s okay. Ordering no issue…“double with”, «cheeseburger», «malt» always works for me. Plain is cool because I can taste the meat. Keith’s is just as good, but not as interesting. Folks who tie up the booths make it a bit like«Mayberry,» and view of downtown Findlay nice(except for Marathon’s «parking lot» fixation!)

A Findlay Institution! Good burgers and chili. Great pies. No frills. Coffee is always hot, and the frozen malts are always rich and firm. Sit on a stool and watch the Main Street traffic scurry by.

If you grew up here, no review is necessary. You know it is the place to go get a «hamburg» and chili. I wish the owners of Wilson’s would have had the entrepreneurial spirit Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas had. I’d like to be able to go all over the US and get a Wilson’s.

If you are new… watch the locals order before trying it! Single with. is your first request, the next from the counter server will be for your side orders, the next request from the grill will be for your toppings. This can be a little overwhelming(think soup Nazi-Seinfeld). The burgers are basic and yummy. The fries are sturdy enough to be dipped in the chocolate malt(mmmm, salt and chocolate!!). The morning coffee and pastries are a treat. This hamburg shop is a throwback for sure and well worth the visit. Men need to request a bathroom key to exit the restaurant to enter the men’s room! Eat at the window counter for a people watching lunch-don’t worry, someone is watching you, too.

I’ve been eating and loving Wilson’s hamburgers for over 60 years. I’ve sampled every major burger joint across the US — In N Out, 5 Guys, White Castle, and many more, but there’s something special about a Wilson’s hamburger that makes it taste better than all the rest. Every time I return to Findlay, I make it a priority to stop by Wilson’s and step back in time by eating at a classic American diner that just happens to serve the best burgers in the US!

A cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard, and pickle, an order of fries and a small malt. I’ve been ordering variations of that since the early eighties. It’s as good now as it was then. Truly a Findlay establishment, Wilson’s serves a flavorful, inexpensive hamburg that does not disappoint. While I’m sure the Wilson’s building could use a little bit of repair, there’s nothing drastically wrong with the location. It has windows on three sides of the building, so you can just as well peer out of the building as people can see in. Its 1940’s diner feel compliments the food served(your basic hamburg). Wilson’s Sandwich Shop provides an exceptional substitute for the fast food commonplace in every city.

Wilson’s if the Famous Burger Place in Findlay. Eatinghere is like stepping back in time to our parents generation of diners, no not Mel’s diner, but what came after that. During the weekday lunch hour anticipate a wait. It’s as though everyone downtown heads to Wilson’s for a burger and fries. They’re delicious and inexpensive.
