Service was slow, but they were busy and understaffed. The menu(only sandwiches and salads) did not have many options and did not particularly lend itself to match the classy and regal Atmosphere of the bar, however the food tasted great. The cocktails were wonderful and selection of beers were also terrific, but overall the prices were outrageous for what they were offering at 12 dollars a sandwich and 11 dollars for 1 cocktail made with non premium liquor.

Alexandria’s has been in Findlay for awhile now and I heard good and bad reviews but always wanted to give it a try because I love some of their social media marketing– shuttles to UF games, upper deck specials, etc.- and the food did sound delicious. My husband and I went on a Friday night and walked right in with no wait but it was our first time there and with no hostess to greet or direct us, we just found a seat near the bar and waited uncertainly. The waitress made eye contact multiple times but never approached us. I finally went over to her and explained that I was sorry, we’d never been there before and were we in the right place to order dinner. She said yes and offered me two menus but didn’t apologize or offer any explanation for our wait. I ordered the squeeze, husband ordered the Alexandria burger and both arrived barely warm and with French fry pieces(literally the tiniest fries I’ve ever seen) so over salted we couldn’t eat them. I was so disappointed because I love supporting local business and really wanted to enjoy Alexandria’s. Unfortunately I would not recommend it and more than likely won’t return :(

This was an exceptional experience. The bar tender Michael was super knowledgable about beer. The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The chicken nachos have ruined my expectations of nachos. Soo good !!!

Got a burger and it was not good. It came out piping hot and you could tell the bacon and the burger were microwaved or cooked in a steaming type oven. The flavor and texture of the meat was not pleasing.

My absolute favorite place in Findlay by far. Their craft beer selection(draft) is insane for such a small town. I have never been disappointed with any food that I’ve ordered there and their chicken nachos are truly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It’s definitely a younger bar-crowd type of atmosphere but it’s awesome. Service has always been excellent.

Well… not going to lie, this place has gone from bad to worse. Not only is the turnover high but now the prices are absolutely ridiculous! I was all for paying a premium for the specialty taco and tapas(I’m dating myself) but when you charge 18 dollars for a Woodford(regular!!!) old fashioned there is something seriously wrong!!! I’ve been to some awesome cocktail joints in the states and abroad and wouldn’t bat an eye at an expensive drink that was well crafted and artisanal. A regular Woodford old fashioned with too much fruit is pretty much a well drink and I’m sorry but it isn’t worth 18 mother effing deutsche marks!!! Come on guys! Just because you dress your people like bellhops doesn’t mean you can charge Waldorf prices:/

Besides the substantial selection of beer, the novelty of the themed burgers that USED to be on the menu was a huge attraction. They were really good. Now based on my last visit they are gone with the chef(at least that’s what our server told us on his very brief appearance at our table). A miserable evening but perhaps I should have expected it. Previous visits to Alexandrias, I had suffered with inattentive servers. This last time took the cake with a very long wait for anyone to approach the table and then, when food was ordered, an interminably long wait for what turned out to be not very good overall. Really disappointed. At one point this was destined to be my ‘go-to’ place in Findlay. I cant stomach the thought of facing poor and inattentive service. The servers seemed to be having a pretty good time over by the cash register though. Wish I had an invite to that party.

Go for the beers! Had a tasty blue beer here along with a chicken wrap that was mediocre. We had poutine… wasn’t a fan, but the pulled pork on it was good. The fries were exactly as everyone had mentioned — tasty ! Coworkers had burgers, but didnt really hear them rave about it. I’d go back for their beer flights or karaōke they had in the back room though !

Good beer selection and fun chill atmosphere. Interesting dichotomy between almost upscale bar downstairs and total towney upstairs.

The Alexandria burger and fries were cold and not that flavorful. Just a standard restaurant menu, nothing really that would make me come back when in Findlay.

My friend and I stopped here on Sunday after a craft fair at the fairgrounds down the road. When in Findlay, there’s not much to do, or many places to eat so we went here. My friend has been with her family numerous times and told me how cute it was. We walked in and opened the lower-level door to find the tvs on, not a soul to be seen, and out-door signs pulled in. I assumed they were closed so we headed up stairs. Upstairs is a small bowling alley and a bar with a variety of seats. Not nearly as cute as the lower level with the garage doors that open to the street. The waitress walked by and I had to verbally accost her to ask if the lower level was closed and if they were open for business. She, of course, looked at me and my friend like we had horns growing out of our heads and answered the upstairs was open. We sat down and she slowly made her way to serve us. Bloody-Mary’s were watery and uninspired. For being a «micro brew» they didn’t have any on tap. The menu was typical bar food. I ordered a burger on the recommendation of my friend who said they were good. What arrived was a greasy meat pie on a bun with some greasy fries with rosemary on top. I wasn’t impressed, to say the least. Service was sub-par and along with the other reviews, I felt the uniforms were dumb. The names of the burgers have changed(per my friend) and not nearly as clever-sounding as the old ones. Food was an attempt at something greater than it was and I left feeling like I should have skipped the entire meal. If you’re in town and stuck with no other solutions, I might suggest going hungry, but if not, attempt this place at your own risk.

Stopped in there for a beer last Saturday evening. It was«OK.» Lots of different kinds of beer. Very noisy — very. Lots of [unwanted] TVs. Good service.

The new uniforms need to go! They make the place look silly. Besides that, the food is good and the beer selection is great! The PBLT is bomb. But the uniforms need to go. The atmosphere when the bartenders had shirts and jeans was much better. Mike Mallet get rid of the UNIFORMS!!! They are silly!

Had an Obi Wan burger and it was very good. The chorizo gives it a good kick along with the chili-cinnamon rubbed pork belly that just takes it to another level. Then add a subtle cilantro bite. Yummy! Nice selection of beer although they were out of a couple I wanted. All ages represented so it isn’t a complete hipster hangout. Really loving the 90s music too. STP, Blind Melon, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam… all right up my alley. Great staff that’s attentive. I’d come back for sure. With burgers named after Star Wars characters, you can’t go wrong. :)

We were in town for my sisters graduation. We had a reservation for 10 and confirmed with the person who took the call that this establishment was handicapped accessible(for my elderly grandmothers). We arrive at our reserved time and no one greats us for servers minutes. I went up to the bar and let one of the servers know that we had a reservation. He replied«all reservations are upstairs»…okay? Well this wasn’t going to work considering neither of my grandmas can go up a flight of stairs… he proceeded to tell us that there was an elevator but they would have to go through the kitchen… okay? We eventually get upstairs to find the room set up similar to a banquet hall. Our server comes over and lets us know that only the buffet is available… the buffet consisted of sliders, wings and fries… all which looked as if it had been sitting out for hours. The buffet included pop too and was $ 15! Wow! After requesting to speak to the manager we were able to choose from the menu but we were never told when the reservation was made that they were only serving the buffet. The burgers were subpar. Nothing special at all… I was expecting to be wowed and I was far from it. I will not be back!

DUCKFAT. You HAVEGOT to eat at Alexandria’s Micro Brewery. Beer selection is off the charts. 25 local and micro on tap. Unfuckingbelievably good food. Yes, it’s a word. Alexandra’s is a gastropub, so it’s really bizarre combinations of VERY delicious things. I just had a burger made of locally grown grass fed beef, mixed with chipotle and cilantro, Gruyère cheese, ciabatta, lettuce, chipotle aioli(I think?), and a side of French fries seasoned with fresh rosemary, and fried in duck fat. I repeat: FRIEDINDUCKFAT. Did I mention that the french fries are fried in duck fat?!

Best fries ever!!! They are cooked in Duck fat! I know it sounds lame as a foodie to get the nachos, but my God, they have smoked chicken and roasted corn on them! The burgers are whacky and Great!

I was in town yesterday for a women’s rugby game and saw that Alexandria’s got good reviews. It did not disappoint. As others have mentioned, the menu is limited — the focus here is on burgers. I had the Darth Vader and my boyfriend had the Obi One. Both were delicious– very high quality meat coupled with innovative, fresh ingredients. The burgers are accompanied by french fries that are cooked in duck fat for a rich, wonderful flavor. I do not drink, so I can’t really comment on the beer, except to say that the offerings are extensive. My boyfriend had some kind of IPA, which he enjoyed, but did not rave about. I can definitely see myself making the drive to Findlay just to have one of the burgers — they were that good. The environment is warm and cozy and the waitstaff friendly and helpful. I wish they would open a restaurant in Toledo!

Allow me to preface this by mentioning I didn’t care about their beer selection. While I understand they had a large selection, I only drank the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale… which was wonderful. The reason for the 5 stars comes down to the burger and atmosphere. Easily one of the top five meals of my life thus far. I’m from Chicago and currently live in Dallas, so I have a pretty strong opinion about food with flavor(or lack thereof), and when things are all hype. Alexandria’s is interesting because it doesn’t feel like it belongs in Findlay. It feels like a bar in Wicker Park(Chicago). Let me explain. Upon entering, we are greeted with large leather chairs, open wood beams, and large glass garage doors to our left. It feels relaxed and masculine. We have a party of 12, and we’re seated immediately along the stage wall(yes, there’s a small stage which I’ll touch on in a moment). We order our drinks and begin our usual chit-chat. The beer list is extensive for Applebee’s, but nothing to celebrate with a parade. The food menu is where it takes a turn for the weird. The burgers-the staple food of the menu-are named with a Star Wars theme. Nothing else on the menu or signage carries the theme. It’s only the burgers on the menu. So I order the ‘Darth Vader’ and forget about it. What arrived was more than enough to convince even the most devout jedi to come to the dark side. The ‘Darth Vader’ is an all beef patty, duck fat french fries, braised beef gravy, aged cheddar, and is served on a buttered bun. Not knowing what duck fat french fries were, I took a couple, skipped the ketchup, and nonchalantly began eating them. They set my tastebuds ablaze with flavor. It was like a piece of me suddenly woke up and stood at the ready. I knew something magical was happening. I cut the burger in half and took the behemoth in my hands, gravy slowly oozing out the back, threatening to trickle down my hand and into no man’s land. I took my first bite and let the beef gravy, aged cheddar, and perfectly cooked patty take me on a journey. Each bite was more savory than the last. The beef gravy completed the burger’s seasoning and contrasted so nicely with the duck fat fries and bourbon ale, it was easily became one of my top five meals ever. I know, that’s a pretty tall order. I feel that the flavors easily made this meal a contender, but the GREAT service, atmosphere, AND the mere fact that I wasn’t even remotely expecting it — that’s what put it over the top. Also, we had a local acoustic band play for most of our night, and I was even allowed to step up, borrow a guitar, and play a song! Bottom Line: This place is better than I could have ever predicted. When I go back to Findlay to visit friends and family, I will absolutely make sure not to miss a chance to savor a beer and burger at Alexandria’s. You shouldn’t either.

While stuck in Findlay, OH for a few days on business, my expectations were not too high with regards to dining choices. My hotel is surrounded by standard chains such as Texas Roadhouse and Outback. I regret not finding this place earlier during my visit. Beer list and food were both outstanding. And I don’t just mean for Findlay, OH. I’m from Columbus, and am an absolute beer snob, so I didn’t expect to find much in Findlay. Most places around here consider Yuengling to be their«craft beer». The beer list at Alexandria’s was as good as any bar I frequent in Columbus. While there, I had a Stone Grapefruit Slam IPA, New Belgium Yuzu(hard to find), and a Rivertown Vanilla Porter for dessert. Their beer menu consisted of 40+ beers on tap, ranging from Stone to New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Dogfish Head, Heavy Seas, Green Flash, and more. Truly a diverse list of drafts. I would have been happy with the beer alone, but I was hungry as well. The food menu is minimal, and that’s not a bad thing. One sheet alone, with a handful of appetizers, sandwiches, and flatbread pizzas. I opted for the double cheeseburger, which did not disappoint. As much of a beer snob as I am, I’m every bit a burger snob. This burger ranked well above what I typically find during my travels around the country. Cheesy and full of flavor. The fries were exceptional as well, and I loved their presentation in a glass with spicy ketchup in the bottom. One last thing worth noting is the place itself. It’s small. Like, really small. I’m guessing it seats maybe 40 people in the main area, although the bartender did tell me they have a larger space in the back for overflow. None of this is a bad thing. It’s cozy. It has brick walls, copper tile ceilings, a chandelier, and glass garage doors that open in warmer months. Apart from tables and a bar, there are also large, overstuffed leather chairs for lounging in. A few TVs for sports as well. Bottom line, if I lived closer, this would be my go-to hangout. Exceptional beer selection, and above average gastropub-inspired food menu. Will not hesitate coming back here if ever in the area again.
