Would not honour their own coupons, so I left everything on the counter and walked out. They don’t have anything I can’t get somewhere else. The outside could use a good sweep too!

This place is horrible and hasn’t changed when it comes to service. I had major surgery and developed an infection. My doctor has confirmed twice that precautions were sent and verified. I even got the automated call that they were ready and nothing. 3 times I had to walk there and wait an HOUR. I am not even suppose to be up that long! Still waiting on antibiotics. If infection gets, worse I am holding walgreens fully accountable.

Good staff. Store is always clean and well-stocked, as well. I’m also surprised with quality of their Nice brand and grab & go products. Especially, the sushi and the coffee. Open 24 hours.

Located in a great intersection between Broad st and Snyder ave, this place have a high potential as a neighborhood’s favorite place to shop. Unfortunately that is nearly impossible considering the sanitation level of this place is horrible. Yes, they have a pharmacy inside but I don’t understand why the customers are greeted by a pile of smelly trash right by the entrance. This place have big parking space that is left dirty and untreated. The bush right around the corner are filled with trash. It’s like a slap in the face to the community living around this establishment. Stay away from this place… Rite Aid across the street from has been remodeled, cleaner and nicer than this Walgreen.

I use to being a CVS person but I am more into Walgreens now. This place is 24 hours. This place had things I needed and now has prepackaged mini-deli — ok like a little open fridge shelf by the photo center– oh a red velvet cake was staring right at me! Lol. Yeah I often need to quick to go place and delis are a bit slow, so now I have you Walgreens, if I’m heading in your direction that is. I realize I often find something here which makes it convenient. Located at the cross section of Broad and Snyder and diagonally from South Philly High School, across from McD’s and probably the busiest dollar something store and even a 24 hour Rite Aide. Walgreens has parking! Yayyyyyy! So I am coming here.

It’s a drug store, which makes it a good place to get drugs. The legal kind. Or legal, if you have a prescription, that is. I’ll skip the stuff that you know because you’ve not been living under a rock and have in fact been in a few drug stores over the years and on to the specifics of this one: Conveniently right off the BSL Broad Street stop. Open 24 hours. Kinda small parking lot, but rarely full, since most people are walking. Pharmacy folks have always been fairly speedy and helpful. There’s always someone standing out front looking for change — not harassing, really, just asking. Security guard posted at the door. Ah, I love Philly! The rest is pretty standard. Hell, even that was fairly standard, but now you know!

I’ve been here on numerous occasions and received a pretty standard Walgreens experience. However… between the customer service I received last night and then again this morning, I think I’ll switch to a new location. I arrived a full 12 hours after my Rx was to be ready, and I got a terse response in a short tone telling me that it wasn’t ready, and that they were waiting for a call from the doctor. Fine. I called in this morning, and was put on hold for over 15 minutes, before I was able to finally ask how I could help expedite the refill of my prescription. I then asked how I would know if my Rx was ready, because I walked there last night, in my walking cast with a broken big toe, to pick it up and it hadn’t been ready. She basically brushed me off and said«when there is 100 things to do, we can’t do everything». I understand that, but I also don’t have the time to walk there over and over for a non-existent refill. Please don’t think that you are the only one with 100 things to do in a day. Bottom line: I think they are under-staffed, and it’s making everyone in the pharmacy department cranky and unhelpful.

So it gets four stars for being close to my house and open 24 hours. Which is important when you run out of cigarettes at 2AM and absolutely need to smoke ONEMORE. The staff are friendly even when they are pushing the«deal of the week.»

Don’t go here if you are in a rush. The cashiers are so slow and the lines are always long. There are about 6(guessing) available parking spots in their lot, but meters are right out front.

This Walgreens is a hero among Philly drugstores. The shelves are well-stocked(unlike any Rite Aid on earth), the pharmacy is helpful and professional, and the cashiers are mostly quick and accurate. There is always a wait for prescriptions, but this is mitigated somewhat by the fact that the times they give are accurate – if they say it will be done by 6pm, it always is. Calling in a refill is a time-consuming automated nightmare, though; instead, I stop in on my way to work to request refills(which takes 45 seconds) and they are ready when I’m on the way home. The head pharmacists is wonderful, by the way – he actually remembers the customers and always asks how you’re doing. The wonderful lady who works in Cosmetics(in her 50s, Indian, doesn’t wear a nametag) deserves a special shout-out of her own. She is always willing to put down what she’s doing to help you find things, and she’s really warm and friendly. Please note that if you drive, you’re better off parking on the street. Their lot has only 5 or 6 spaces, which are usually flooded, and people consistently block both of the exits.

The Broad & Snyder Walgreen’s always feels a little grungy to me, and not in the Kurt Cobain kind of way. It earns 1 star each for close proximity to my apartment, having a 24 hour pharmacy, and a better than expected grocery department. The retail staff is hit or miss for me, but their pharm techs/on staff pharmacists are pretty decent. It loses 1 star each for the above mentioned grunginess and the fact they don’t sell Septa tokens. Actually, Walgreens ought to lose two stars for a lack of tokens, as it forces me to go to Rite Aid across the street.

This is my preferred pharmacy in South Philly. The atmosphere feels clean and friendly, not drab and crappy like some other pharmacies. The staff seem more professional and most of the time look like they do a lot of work to keep the place tidy and organized. They don’t have awesome deals like CVS, though. I also don’t think they have any kind of reward/incentive program but I haven’t been here in a while. Their pharmacy is also really good. Online refills are a cinch. The pharm techs have to deal with a lot of surly customers, as I’ve witnessed, but they keep their composure and are extremely professional without being condescending. They have a tiny parking lot that can be tricky to navigate with all the cars temp parked in the fire lane.
