You have to be from another country(Asia) to get any kind of service from the wait staff. We waited 49 min to get our food. Meanwhile, 4 tables received their food and left before we did. This establishment is not worth the money or your time. The food was mediocre at best with terrible service. Will not be back. PEACE

For the record, I have only gotten take out orders from here, and this review is regarding the takeout process and the food(which I am going to assume would be the same fare as that if were to dine in though it may not be). First off, there has not been a single time that my order has been correct. I would order 3 or 4 orders of spring rolls and what do I find out when I arrive home? There’s only ONE order! And even then I was missing ONE roll from the ONE order! Each order is $ 9.95 and is SUPPOSE to have 4 spring rolls. And the fries? At $ 5.95, I get more from Aramark’s ballpark fare! Not only is the casino sucking in money from the slots, they’re sucking in money from bad service! Lesson learned. IF I even go back again, I’m making damn sure I get my money’s worth. Otherwise, I might as well spend it on the slots. At least that way I have chance with winning and getting something out of this place.

Service: Okay. Got seated in less than 15 minutes, but felt rushed by the waitress. I still had half of my burger left, and my beer was low, she brought out the check before I could even ask for another beer, so I opted for water instead. Food: NEVERAGAIN. My turkey burger was SOOO dry, I had to dip it into ketchup every bite and I don’t even like ketchup! I ordered the burger because my sister’s General Tso’s Chicken was SO sour(wth?) that I didn’t want to touch anything else on the Asian Fare menu. I figured how can you go wrong with a burger. Smh. It was SO dry. I only came here because Carmen Carrera and Manila Luzon(LOVETHEM!) were performing there. If I had the choice, I’d rather go to Harrah’s Chester where there’s better food, service, and overall everything.

The refinery, the restaurant at the back of the Sugarhouse casino. My guests and I ended up here as it has great views of the river. Some of those views are of the now decrepit dock behind the casino, which is a shame. Set that up as a lounge area and serve cocktails and grill some food out there and you’s have a great space for people to relax, dance, whatever. There is a small, small area open when the temps are above 65 degrees, but c’mon, do some landscaping and open that back area up. Heck Cavanaugh’s does a better job. So the drinks were few and far between, and mixed drinks were worthless. Stick to bottled beers and expect no more than one freebie every 20 – 30 minutes. The food is bar fare, deep fried and greasy. I think the healthiest thing on the menu is the pretzel but the sauces it comes with help fix that.

The Refinery is a large bar /restaurant that has some surprisingly good food. When the weather is nice you can sit outside right along the river. The sandwiches are huge! I only had a chance to try the Calamari and it was great! Since I had to be at my parents for dinner I couldn’t indulge too much. I did do some food watching and everything that came out looked very tasty.

MEH! So Meh-diocre. A casino usually has great food. Not at Sugarhouse. It has middle-of-the-road burgers and a few snadwiches and plates. Not my bag, baby. Honestly? Were it not for proximity — I would NEVER come to Sugarhouse — I’d sooner go to AC or even Bethlehem, PA. Philly fought long & hard to get a casino — and THIS is what they get? Sorry — Unimpressed.

#53 After maneuvering our way through the smoke-filled SugarHouse Casino, we found ourselves standing in front of the Refinery. The space is pretty spacious, with the left side clearly delineated as the eating side of the restaurant and the right side as the drinking side. We chose the drinking side. =) Since we got there around 6, it was the beginning of Happy Hour. We decided to go for their $ 4 margaritas — one strawberry and the other peach. They were perfectly sweet and potent and a real treat as we sat at the bar and gazed out at the waterfront. There was a live band playing at the time and plenty of middle-aged gamblers and couples around for some light fun. The security guards(at least all the female ones) all had perfectly manicured fake nails and stuck around the bar area chatting up the bartenders and waitresses — it was a little strange to see. After we ordered our second round of drinks(his a Sam Adams and mine a Canadian Club) at a total of $ 10, we decided to take our drinks out to the deck. The sun was in it setting stage and the city line and Ben Franklin Bridge were gorgeous sights to take in. Once we finished up our drinks, we headed back out to take their free Sugar Express trolley back into the city. The place isn’t nearly as impressive as Vegas, but it changed up the sights for an early evening.

This is sort of a hidden gem. The outdoor deck has great views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the river(the Jersey side is lush, green & pleasant to look upon) & the wind/breeze is filtered nicely through the surrounding low glass barriers. We got beef & turkey burgers and weren’t asked how we’d like them cooked so they were on the side of well done but you also get a great choice of toppings — 3 for free, including avocado. The food was acceptably decent, our server was quick & attentive and Yards Brawler was $ 4 on draft — seriously not bad at all. We went on a Thursday night and the casino sounds were so well-blocked by the airtight doors, we forgot we were even there.
