Ron is great with amps. I had a 20+ year old Mesa Boogie that hasn’t worked right in years, and after Ron fixed it, it sounds better than it did when it was brand new. Plus, it was done faster than expected, and for a fair price.

I brought in an Ampeg SVT CL that was about 17 years old and was breaking up horribly when I played it. Ron knew exactly what it needed and got it done quickly.
Ron is super friendly and very, very reasonable when it comes to pricing. He knows everything there is to know about electronic music equipment. He will shoot you straight and not try to scam you.
This guy is in it to help out musicians in need and not just to make a profit. I highly recommend giving him your business.

Ron came out to my house on a Saturday to take a look at my 1960 RCA New Vista hi-​fi. He took the guts with him and fiddled away for 3 weeks in his shop trying to get it working again.
Now it sounds as good as the day it came home from the factory, and has a plug for an iPod to boot.
Great rates, too!

Ron is a great amp repair guy.
I’ve brought several amps to his shop over the past few years and he’s always fixed them quickly and has been fairly easy to reach if I had any questions. I’ve also brought a pedal to him and he was able to work on it as well.
Price wise I think he is pretty comparable to anyone else I’ve priced.
His shop is on a residential street in Port Richmond so be prepared to haul your gear a little bit if you can’t find parking in front.
Other than that, I highly recommend his work.

I took my early 70s Twin reverb to Ron at the Amp Shop because it was losing power during gigs. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and accurately at a reasonable price. The labor rate was fair and he charged me the same price for tubes as I found on line. I’d definitely recommend him. Plus he’s a nice guy and I always like spending money with people like him.
