This place went from really good food to ugh. Not sure what happened, but I will miss THE best rum cake, you had to order it ahead of time, in the world.

A friend and I stopped in here around 5.30pm on a Thursday eve for dinner before heading to a movie. It was completely empty, so I suppose we were very early for dinner. Our waiter was an older gentleman dressed in a full suit and tie. So sweet and cute with a thick Italian accent. He was like the older uncle/grandpa I never had but always wanted! The food was delicious. I had a salad with warmed goat cheese and the fish special of the day(St. Peter’s filet) and my friend had the ear shaped pasta with pesto in a cream sauce. We also had some red wine, a chocolate puff dessert and cappuccino. It tasted like a home cooked meal with a very sweet server. Also, parking was not too difficult to find on the street. I’d definitely go back and check it out on the weekend perhaps for more of a crowd.

Great selection of homemade pastas and reasonably priced. Try the moon shaped pasta with the creamy blush sauce, it’s delish! Owner is very nice and food has always been exceptional in terms of pasta. If you live in s. philly, visit this place at least once!

Can’t believe I haven’t been here before as the restaurant has been in business for years. Very clean and nice blue and yellow décor. The service was friendly and excellent. The owners greet you in Italian. We had Max hand prepared a Cesear Salad at the table($ 15), that we split for two. Very good. We had one of the specials, shrimp and scallops in a fra diablo sauce over handmade fettucine, not too spicy and very delicious. Total bill, salad, entrees, and a wine was $ 79 for two people. The restaurant was not overly busy on a Friday night, and I’m not sure why. It’s a nice hidden gem. They have valet parking in front, and parking could be a problem in this neighborhood.

I went here for the first time tonight on a date, and it was fabulous. I love that they sell wine but you can also take your own. The cute old guys wear great suits and are fabulous. The service was wonderful, as someone came by to fill up our wine and water glasses anytime they were half full! We ate the veal alla champagne which was pretty amazing, and I had the spinach ricotta gnocchi. We had those two entrees and an appetizer for $ 50, which was great for the type of place it is. I think they had at least 5 specials, too. Probably best not to try and park around there. It is a fancy looking place, but we were dressed casual and didn’t feel out of place. However, if you want to dress up — you wouldn’t feel out of place either! Go here! It’s great!

This should be a 4.5, but since that is not an option… I cannot believe that I am the first person to review this place, it is consistently delicious. I have never eaten a bad meal there and I have been going there several times a year for at least six years. They are a good place for large groups(have had two brithday dinners there and a funeral luncheon) and a quick dinner out for two. Mezza Luna has a full bar but you can bring your own wine and they do not charge a corking fee. Surprisingly, there is never a long wait here(if there is any. it is chronically under-visited me thinks), but you can siddle up to the bar for a cocktail while you wait. Personal favorites include any seafood dish(esp the grigliata mista and calamari ala griglia when they have it), the veal a la champagne, the veal rollitini, the papardelle with porcini, their delicious gnocci and pretty much any of their homemade pasta dishes. The onyl thing there that I do not like(but have never myself ordered) is the osso bucco. I only tried it once, but it wasn’t right, so it might have been a one-off disappointment.
