Terrible online service. Despite the weather conditions, Plaza Pizza decided to cancel all grub hub orders without notifications to their customers that already placed orders. In addition they did not tell their customers that they cancelled orders. Even after over 20 attempts at calling them, they didn’t not answer until every 6 attempts. They had told me they would call me back if they found out that my delivery was processed or not, nonetheless, they never called back. It took another 6 attempts and 5 mins on hold for each attempt to get a hold on them for them to say that they forgot to call. Oh and did I mention that, the total order time took THREE(3) HOURS!!! Very unhappy with their customers service. They need to reevaluate who they hired to take care of online, phone, and in-person orders.

I’ve spent a lot of years going here for breakfast. Then one day they changed owners, ever since then the food has gone down hill. Seems like the new owner wanted to cut some corners but I do give them credit for the new beer section.

DON’T BUYYOURBEERHERE unless you want to pay way more than it should cost. To be fair, I’ve gotten the pizza here once or twice. It’s basic. Not great by any means but I’m not heated about that. What drives me nuts is their stupid beer prices. They are, to the best of my knowledge, not listed, and from the three times I came here each has been way too much. Pretty sure they make up the price on the spot. $ 10 for 6 small rolling rocks. $ 20+ for craft beers. You’ve been warned.

The old men of ownership don’t carry the best greetings when it comes to people of color, just a little something I noticed. I looked pass the owers and got along well with the workers. I ignored the mouse I once seen run across the floor. Once there came a day when my awesome and beautiful little sister ask me to buy her a cheese steak. Out of my little sisters Cheese steak she pulled a long strand of hair from out her mouth. Imagine your little sister biting into a cheese steak you brought for her and then pulling a long strand of hair from out of her mouth. When she called me she said was hungry and didn’t eat all day. I was pissed off. Never again did I returned.

I purchased a veggie wrap here that was delicious and very filling. I have ordered here many times in the past and I appreciate that they have so many scrumptious options for(semi) vegetarians like me. Thanks plaza

I am ECSTATIC to be typing this review of this place. Just FUCKINGECSTATIC I have to take time out of my night to do this. Upon entering this establishment, we were immediately time warped into 1978. I wasn’t even thought of during this time, that’s how old their damn interior is. My beautiful friends and I wanted to order food but also wanted to sit and eat, hence why we came here as opposed to the cheesesteak place across the street.(There seating area was closed.) Anyway, after tootsie rolling our way down the aisle to disco music, we ordered 5 slices and grabbed 3 beers. We then go and have a seat, of course to wait for our slices… the guy with the full on mullet hands us a box and tells us, «sorry but we’re closing the shop. you have to take your food with you». WHYTHEHELLWOULDYOUWAITUNTILWEHAVEPAIDANDSATDOWNTOTELLUSTHISFUCKINVALUABLEINFORMATION?! who does that?! Normally restaurant worker people will notify you of the establishment closing … NOTMULLETGUY!!! This is also after we opened all the beer. So this place and their old tables can go to hell!!!

I always order delivery from here and did it again yesterday. They have top 5 best wings in the city, good chicken caesar salad and my favorite part is that they deliver very fast and the delivery guys are very friendly. Ive been in the Plaza without going inside and there are always homeless people sitting or standing outside the door begging for money. Its very annoying and in general its not the best crowd in this area. I will continue to get delivery because I like the food but will not be eating inside.

I have been eating here once a week for about 10 years. A grilled cheese on rye is only $ 2.95, add ham it’s $ 4.35, half a chicken with 2 sides only $ 7.95, so it is decent food at cheap prices for Philly. I love that it is so close to Old City and has free parking. Next to Rite Aid and Dunkin Donuts in a strip center at 4th and Spring Garden. Close to Electric Factory. A good place to hang after church, or first friday, or Running of the Santas or ??? They sell beer which does attract some bowery bums as walkin clients buying cold 40s.

I ordered 8 large pizzas for my daughter’s birthday party 24 hours in advance and was assured by the manager that we would have our pizza by 1:45pm. I even paid in advance. Well 1:45 came and went the day of my daughter’s party and no pizza. I called and was told that the pizza was on its way. The. 2pm I call again they tell me its going to ready in 10 mins! It wasn’t even done yet! Mind you we were at Sweet and Sassy(which I told the manager prior to this). My husband ended up having to pick up the pizza himself even after we paid the delivery charge. Don’t ever depend on this place for any event. In fact my neighbor informed me that she has seen roaches coming out of their building. Never eating there again. Thanks for screwing up my 4 year old’s party.

I’ve had takeout from here a few times and it has always seemed to be just a hair under my expectations for a pizza shop/diner(which aren’t very high to begin with). However, I’ve continued to come here on occasion because of their takeout beer selection. There’s not much better than getting a single and a sandwich to enjoy on your lunch break. I’m not sure whether I’m more disgusted at myself for ordering Alfredo based pasta from this joint, or for actually attempting to eat it after I opened it, only to gag several times. My order was incorrect, for one, the Alfredo sauce tasted more like past its prime heavy cream and butter, the garlic bread was really just a burnt kaiser roll with a tiny bit of butter in the center of then bun, the salad was(predictably) COVEREDINONIONS and wilted, the pasta was so overcooked that it turned into a kind of mush and the dish had no seasoning to speak of. It’s my fault, I really should know better. But my god, I feel like someone should have looked at and/or smelled this dish before it went out and realized it wasn’t suitable to give to a customer. For this, my initial thoughts of at least a 3 star rating(the people are very nice and it’s convenient) has gone down to two. Either this is their standard, or nobody cared enough to stop the food from going out. This lunch will haunt me forever :-/

It’s really ironic that this place is called Plaza Pizza. Seriously, if they just ditched the pizza & called it the Plaza Diner or something, they wouldn’t have all those 1 star reviews. Their pizza is the worst pizza ever. Comparisons to Chuckie Cheese pizza are being kind. It’s terrible. But… everything else is really tasty! I especially love the chicken souvlaki platters. Fresh grilled chicken, a side Greek salad, great fries and pita & tzatziki for under $ 10 bucks. I haven’t yet tried the turkey hoagie, but co-workers have vouched for it. It’s apparently the fresh roasted turkey breast that makes it extra yum. They also do an all day breakfast I believe. The menu is extensive. They are always pretty busy, so that says something too. I think all the regulars know the deal. Free delivery for breakfast & lunch during the week. Good hours too. 7:30 am — midnight Sun-Thurs 7:30 — 1:00 a.m. on weekends.

My boyfriend and I have ventured into this place about 3 times so far and have never had a complaint. The restaurant is located right next to the Pearl Theater, so dinner and a movie is totally an option if you don’t want to venture too far off this side of the Temple campus. We have been here around lunch time and again around dinner time. Both times, we thoroughly enjoyed our food. My boyfriend has consistently gotten slices of pizza from their ready-made bar that have looked absolutely delicious. I have ordered both Cheese/Bacon fries and Buffalo Chicken Tenders from their VERY large to-go menu. We have always eaten in the restaurant, so I can’t speak for delivery food. Overall, we really like this place and will continue to grub here when we go catch a movie.

I don’t know why, but I’ve walked in here twice to satiate an uncontrollable stromboli craving. I don’t know why I walked in here or why I had the stromboli craving? It doesn’t matter – their strombolis were delicious. I can’t vouch for any of their other food. I’ll probably end up trying a cheesesteak or hoagie at some point, but from what I’ve had it’s been good, cheap and quick with nice service. It’s the kind of pizza place every neighborhood should have. Oh and they’ve got beer to go and seem to be open late-ish even on the weekdays. Bonus points for also being considerably less ghetto than I imagined.

If you live or work in the vicinity, it’s great for breakfast delivery. Go with an omelet, home fries & toast. Quick and cheap. Their sandwich and pizza offerings tend to be sub par so I would avoid them as a lunch/dinner option. Strictly breakfast. I find that those who order lunch from here far too often regret it. The lady who answers the phone in the morning is usually very cheery and calls you«honey» or «sweetie». I’d actually rate it two and a half stars if I could.

I went in here before a concert at the Electric Factory. I expected to grab a quick slice of pizza and leave, but I looked at their menu and realized they had full meals for $ 6.25. I ended up getting cheese ravioli in Marinara sauce, a huge salad, and a garlic roll for $ 7.25, and it all came out really fast. My friend got their Fettucini Alfredo. I’m not gonna say the food was incredible, you get what you pay for. It was good and it was fast and it was cheap. It was very basic, but I enjoyed it. Fast, basic, inexpensive quantity. It’s worth going back.

A decent crust is what’s generally required for pizza to be considered palatable. After all, it is the common vessel that carries an endless diversity of toppings to form what we know as a pizza pie. To have a shop that offers these pies and then get the crust all wrong is like, well, visiting the Red Light District in Amsterdam only to find out there is a leprosy epidemic occurring. Alright, maybe this pizza won’t cause your skin to slough off, but it is just as ghastly. I mean, as I stood around and watched, what’s the point of baking a pizza in a deep pie pan when you aren’t making deep dish pizza. What happens then is the deep sided pan acts like a heat shield, defending against the necessary thermal convection to create a proper crust. What you’re left with is an even, pale, french-fry tan crust only comparable to Ellio’s of Mccain foods, which is an affront to Ellio’s because at least the frozen pizza has its purpose. Not only that, my vegetarian friend could not finish his seitan cheesesteak after three bites, noting that, «it tastes like a cardboard box you left outside on a bunch of rainy days.» The only reason to visit is to purchase carry out beer. They’re also open much later than other pizza shops(I’ve been there well past midnight). Let’s just call Plaza for what it is, a 40-store.

Plaza Pizza is a good place to satisfy all your munchies when you need food fast. I just had a pizza from there today… it’s decent pizza. If you’re a pizza snob you’re most likely going to have some critique, but hey – as long as the pizza is hot, slightly greasy, and has fresh ingredients I’m a fan :-). Also — I don’t know why this place is called Plazza Pizza because like every other joint in Philly there is usually tons more on the menu(Cheesteaks, hoagies(Delicious btw!), pasta, salads, and some Greek specialities(yummy Baklava!). They also have a decent selection of beer. The owners/workers are very nice and funny. They always make me repeat«Hard» when I order hard salami on my hoagie – hey got to get your thrills where you can right? lol. Anyway, I like this no frills Pizza+ place. I wish they were open later though – I would definitely hit them up after a night of partying.

The horror! This must be a joke — is this what they call pizza in central Philly? It looks like they forage the dumpsters behind Chuck-E-Cheese every night and microwave the leftovers for you. Spare yourself the agony and take a 20 minute walk to get something edible. The second star is because they have beer. And because my girlfriend said it «wasn’t too terrible.»
