The coffee was strong and bold. The iced chai latte with almond milk was fantastic. The tea had a nice spicy honey flavor, possibly one of the best chais I’ve had in a very very long time.

Real coffee in a world inundated by Starbucks! If you are an anti Starbucks coffee person(only because it is not very good coffee) and that first cup matters you have found the spot. Smooth as silk and that Vegan cranberry muffin is heaven. Enjoy!

Fantastic brews, and lovely outdoor seating perches. Staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This was our go-to coffee spot in the neighborhood. My only complaint is the lack of breakfast options. Bagels and muffins are tasty, but minimal options. We loved taking a book and reading outside on their stoops, I wish the inside seating area had a bit more character.

Quaint, cozy meeting place for friends or coworkers to catch up over a cup of coffee. The enchanting aroma of fresh coffee beans on their own is enough to perk you up for the day. If you intend on hanging out to work or even co-work with colleagues, you may want to bring ear buds as the sound of lunchtime conversation tends to fill the room. Wi-Fi is available, but it’s a good idea to purchase something first to support this fine Philadelphia establishment.

Great place, great coffee, awesome Old City location. Plenty of table to sit and read or chat with a friend. Good spot to take an afternoon break from work and sit outside near the cobblestone street. I do this sometimes. And again, the main thing is the coffee(and food) is great. Awesome.

Cute little place to study or catch up with your friend over coffee, tea, cookies and ice cream. They brew some sick coffee here, fresh everyday, over ice or straight hot. The services do not notify you when they put your drink on the counter, you can assume it’s yours.

I’m a fan of Old City Coffee, it’s nestled on a cute cobble stone alley in Old City. The coffee itself gets 5 stars, no doubt! In addition to their full drink menu, they have pastries and muffins and you can buy bags of their coffee to go. There is free 3-hour wifi, with purchase. They have a seating area if you want to sit and work/study. It’s somewhat stark on that side of the shop and not very cozy(I personally like a cozy coffee shop). They have a cute two-top outside if you’re lucky enough to snag it! The service has improved drastically over the last couple of years. I had a bad taste in my mouth for a while because the staff seemed pretty rude, but the last two times I’ve been in, everyone has been extremely nice and friendly! Definitely head to Old City Coffee before you hit the Starbucks a couple blocks away.

Love their coffee! Bought bags of coffee from the Reading Terminal location along with a hot cappuccino today. I used to get coffee here in college and I miss it! Baristas are fast and nice!

Smooth dark coffee absolutely bitter free. Homemade cookies excellent. The décor sports the use of reclaimed farmhouse wood and a old metal farmhouse sliding door. Happy people work here Stop in and enjoy a great cup of coffee!

Excellent coffee selection to go and grains to take home. Great selection of pastries, ice cream, and tea as well. Seating is good as well, not big but there’s always a table open. Usually quiet. Very cozy.

Nice staff, great coffee and good location! Their cold brew in the summer is also consistently delicious and well made! I only with they had more food to choose from but that’s ok!

I LOVE coffee, and this is one of the best cups of coffee I have ever found. Hot strong and delicious. The staff is quick and efficient. Place your order and you have your coffee quickly. You can also buy coffee by the pound. This is right near one of the entrances to the Reading Terminal, do easy to find.

Just like the coffee houses of Europe and at home. The latte was excellent. I arrived when they opened at 7 am. The location is nice too.

I’ve bought coffee from Old City Coffee the last couple times I’ve gone to Reading Terminal Market and have not been disappointed! I have really enjoyed the Costa Rican bean — medium brew and very tasty. Tried the Guatemalan coffee as it was their special this week — much darker roast but still very smooth. Drink it!

This place is great to get a cup of joe and relax for a little while. It’s off the beaten trail and the employees are nice. I got a small cup of coffee for $ 2.00 and it tasted fresh and was hot enough to drink. You pour your own coffee which I prefer, call me old school or not lazy either or. They also have common coffee items for sale at a fair price. You walk in and there are mugs and other small things you can purchase. It smells great in there just like a good coffee shop should. There is a good amount of seating in the adjacent room. There are some art pictures on the wall that help compliment the shop. There is a bathroom and it was clean both times I went in there. There’s wifi for free which is a plus, you just have to get the password from the employee. It’s quiet in there for the most part and I felt comfortable in there as well. I recommend this place even if you need some where quiet to study or relax. I will be back for sure.

I’ve been a fan of Old City Coffee for years. When I lived in the area, it was a nice weekend treat and the shop itself is cozy and perfect for working. Since I’ve moved to another part of the city, I take advantage of the time I have in Old City and always make it a point to stop in for some beans. The Old City blend is delicious and I’ve sent some to my coffee-lovin’ aunt and she requests it often. Great place on one of the cutest streets in Philly.

Talk about off the beaten trail! I was early for the first day of work at my new job, so I decided that coffee would be the perfect way to calm my nerves(hey, I never promise to be logical). Old City Coffee is hidden on a side street off of 3rd and is extremely tiny at first glance. However, if you want to sit and enjoy your cup of joe, you can head over to the side of the store for the dining area. The coffee was solid and is advertised to be roasted on the premises. I was happy with the price I paid(~$ 3) for a latte. There were also a ton of breakfast and lunch options along the side, as well as coffee paraphernalia. Everyone working there seemed down to earth(and not snooty) and really efficient. There wasn’t a line when I walked in, so the coffee was ready immediately. Even the birds were friendly when I sat outside sipping on my latte. I felt a little like Snow White, to be honest.

I wish I had walked through the seating area first before ordering because then I would have seen the barely eaten Apple Peanut Butter muffin on one of the unbused tables. Had I known, I would have saved myself $ 3! That muffin can be drastically improved by adding more peanut butter, diced apples instead of the large awkward slices, and more sugar. Adding diced apples would have given that muffin much needed moisture. I also got a large mocha with soy and salted caramel flavor and it was a great pick me up after a morning wandering through Old City and Independence Hall. Both the coffee and muffin combined came out to be about $ 8.50.
