This is my all time favorite place. I have been going there for the past 12 years and the food is always hands down good. I walk in and they know what I’m having sometimes I have switch it up but everything they serve is very good. summer rolls, soup, hogies, broken rice plates etc. Great service all the time, very clean place and it’s right in the super market where you could shop after lunch or dinner. Takeout is also available..

I am a regular here and I love it! The service isn’t great, but its not horrible either. They just take your order and leave you alone. Many mistaken their noodles for phở, but it is really called Phnom Penh noodles. I order the same thing everytime with a different flavor of bubble tea. They also have other good foods, such as fried rice, fried noodles, rice dishes, and beef skewers. Prices are average.

This restaurant is a hidden gem inside the supermarket. Don’t let its run down appearance fool you, this place serves one of the most authentic Hu tieu/Mi Nam Vang. The broth is so on point that I actually feel like I’m in Vietnam. The meats and seafoods are cooked perfectly — literally melts in your mouth and really compliment the dish well. And the best thing is the broth is always scorching hot, even when you’re finished eating. On top of all that, the price is super affordable. The parking lot is huge. I can’t comment on the other dishes because we’ve only tried a couple, they’re decent. If you’re coming here, it’s best to just get the Nam Vang soup. Tip: add a bit of red vinegar and order a side of chao quay(Chinese donuts) with it. They make the chao quay really crunchy so dipping it in the flaming broth creates the perfect side dish.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Their grilled chicken rice platter is one of the best I’ve had. My husband likes their grilled pork chops which are good also. I also like their Bo Kho(beef stew with rice noodle). I love it with the big rice noodle and a lot of places don’t have it for this noodle soup dish. The Nam Vang noodle(dry) is great also. The sauce and the broth that comes with this dish is very tasty.

Great place for Cambodian/Vietnamese Noodles. I really enjoyed the dry noodles with fried dough on the side, but I wish they were a little more generous on the meat. Fried dough is a must if you’re ordering noodles at this place. Just dip that in your soup and it’s heaven in your mouth. Prices are reasonable.

if ur going home from work, have nothing home to eat, hungry for vietnamese cuisine, then stop by and grab rice vermicelli with pork chops, egg rolls, and charcoaled shrimp over vegetables. but today I came from dim sum and stopped over for a dessert. their che ba mau(rainbow drink). coconut milk with mung beans, red beans, and grass jelly mixed in crushed ice. a nice and sweet ending for any good lunch. only complaint is that they put in peanuts. this didn’t kill the experience, it’s just not normal for them to do so

The stars are for one thing… Phnom Penh egg noodle dry. This is the only place to go when craving authentic phnom penh noodle. The flavors are perfect. It’s the only place my family goes. I haven’t found a place in Philly that can match them. Add a couple fried dough for dipping in the broth and a glass of Vietnamese ice coffee and you’re set!

Make this nice and short this is the closes i could fine to nam vang similar to the one located in san jose CA, love this place friendly staff. Let your taste bud explore from spicy soup to simple as lemon grass grilled pork on a stick. Sugar cane is a must nothing compare to unrefined sugar.

Honestly, dry noodle is better at Café Nhu Quynh near Ben City. But I come here from time to time because the women are so nice and it is cozy. Service is inconsistent, one day they are good, other days they’re awful. Not very clean either and it seems like their food quality has dwindled.

I think this is the best Cambodian noodle soup, but they think they Vietnamese restaurant. Most Cambodian people go there and support the owner lot. They should this restaurant is Cambodian restaurant. The food is so good and the service is great. Most people working there is came from Cambodia but they most speak in Vietnamese they forgot their roots. It ok one day they realize most Khmer eat there.

Phở is average, Banh mi is average. Service is kind of slow. It’s not that clean in here.

I am overdue on a review for this place, a long standing favorite for nearly 15 years. I am writing abuut it now after having had its namesake soup at another location, Phở Saigon, on Columbus Blvd. Nothing touches Nam Vang’s Hu Thie Nam Vang soup ! They have spoiled me here. Able to aptly compare, I can say this about Nam Vang: — some of the most flavorful broth around — the BEST and most tender rice noodles, hands-down — The Nam Vang soup has an incredible mix of both seafood and pork, both cooked perfectly every time — the best selection of condiments, including the red vinegar which is a must for this soup ! And equally amazing Café Su Da ! If you want a real treat, get a side of the fried bread to dunk in the soup … heaven ! You are indeed my true love, Nam Vang restaurant, for your signature, namesake dish. I shall not leave you for another again !

Great place to eat. Good services. Affordable. Problem? Their cambodian noodle with the broth on the side(hu tieu nam vang kho) is probably what I like most. On top of that, they have sugar cane drinks! No other or not many other places have this drink!

This just a review for the beef stew with baguette, phở, and sugarcane juice. I haven’t had the banh mi so I can’t really speak to that but the phở broth is flavorful and I love the rich, hearty beef stew. Just dip the baguette in and you’re good to go! The bun rieu is not as authentic as Nam Phuong’s, by far, but it’s passable. Overall, a good place to grab a quick, inexpensive bite. The servers are very friendly and the food comes out very quickly.

Not vegetarian friendly. I am vegetarian so I frequent Asian restaurants. I saw NOTHING on the menu that was vegetarian. So i ordered vietnamese spring roll– to be sure I specifically asked the lady if what I ordered was veg and she said yes. It was number 10 cha gio. It took 20minutes to arrive. I then bit into it and there was meat in it. I did not want to go back in there so I lost 4 $. I have had the same experience with café Saigon(827 Adams). But I was able to get a refund. Neither places are vegetarian friendly.

Heard that this place was worth checking out; apparently their Cambodian noodles(no soup, or «dry») are very good. Mom and I were heading to Hong Kong Supermarket next door to get some groceries so we figured we’d stop by for lunch. I got the dry Cambodian noodles(hu tieu nam vang kho) and my mom got vermicelli soup with crab(bun rieu cua). My Cambodian noodles were goooooood! On the sweet side(too sweet, my mom thought) but I didn’t mind it. I forget what my mom thought of her bun rieu, but I can easily guess that it wasn’t up to her standards — she’s notoriously critical. She shared her tofu puffs with me and I found them tasty(and quite fun). We recently went back for some banh mi to go after getting groceries(note: if you’re buying banh mi to eat at home, you can ask the banh mi place to give you the pickled veggies separately; they’ll also check with you to see if you’d rather have the bread not toasted). Once we got home, we toasted the banh mi without the pickles(so they’d stay cold); I noticed that the insides were peppered, which I found odd. CHOWTIME! Too peppery. I’ve never had a banh mi with pepper in it because the meats should be adequately seasoned already… this kind of bummed me out. Neither of us enjoyed the banh mi very much. Three stars. A-OK, but will probably not hit this place up anymore as there is a better banh mi place nearby(Café Saigon).

Stop in if you’re looking for an inexpensive brunch or lunch. I enjoy much of Nam Vang’s menu selection, which is largely Vietnamese. Their fish sauce is more watered down than I’m used to, but their banh mi is decent($ 3 for charbroiled pork, $ 2 for a regular), packaged in an impressive roll, the bread thin and satisfyingly crispy(much better than when I first tried them years ago). The filling is where I gripe since there’s not too much cilantro and the pickles are a bit large. They’re no Café Saigon, but I won’t dismiss their sandwiches anymore. The phở broth I’ve had is tasty and you can’t beat their convenient location(next to the Hong Kong Supermarket), ample parking(and seating), and friendly service. FYI, many of the staff speak Chinese and/or Cambodian depending on who you’re dealing with — and English too, of course.
