Great drink selection. Great food. Great happy hour. Their mussels in white sauce are AMAZING. Truly truly delicious. They always cater to the atmosphere around them. Service is nice and welcoming. Prices are reasonable. Great location. Love this place. I will always come back for their mussels though. Spectacular!

When we couldn’t find an open table at any of the nearby restaurants, London Grill’s big dinning room had room. The bar area which is decent sized with about 4 high tops tables and a bunch of seating at the bar with a tv, was full, so we went to the dinning room. The area has a fairly upscale atmosphere, as does the menu, but prices are decent and the service is very friendly and fairly casual. I didn’t feel out of place in athletic gear the night before running the marathon. The menu is a mix of Italian inspired dishes and more«new American». There are several pasta dishes including the boar fettuccini which was out, so I got the daily gnocchi special, mozzarella and bacon topped, instead. There is also Korean fried chicken, parmesan-truffle frites, meatball sliders, and steak. The frites were nice and earthy without being overly truffle flavored and cooked to a nice crispy doneness. The gnocchi was excellent though fairly heavy and very filling. The bacon and cheese added great flavor and succulent depth to the nice and chewy, pillowy gnocchi. The Korean fried chicken was fried very nicely, maintaining the tenderness of the chicken with the nice crisp fried skin outside. The same was nice and tangy as well though not overly spicy. The atmosphere in the dinning room is very nice as well with a big glass window that sort of overhangs the whole wall, so you get lots of light. The beer and wine selection was also top notch. Great place for a pretty hearty meal.

We used to live in this neighborhood and loved stopping here for brunch, lunch and happy hour! The staff is always so nice and accommodating. The food is delicious and sitting outside in the summer is wonderful.

Service was a little slow but building was cool, the drinks great and my fried chicken sandwich was literally the perfect bite.

A good and tasty burger in a cosy and warm bar, with a good selection of beers. A good spot to stop by after Terror behind the walls! :)

Tried the crab bolognese fettuccine and it wasn’t bad. Nothing amazing. My friend’s burger looked better and my girlfriend’s fried chicken sandwich definitely was. I think I ate more of that than my own meal. The waiter was super friendly and helpful, suggesting cocktails for my girlfriend to try. She liked everyone he recommended. The sidewalk patio was nice and I’d recommend sitting outside when the weather permits.

First time here, not sure if I would come back to drink. Just sitting down for a relaxing happy hour after work. The beer glasses are warm making the beer go south quickly and the well drinks aren’t very strong. Grant it they’re cheaper than normal drinks but they also use cheaper whiskey so I would expect them to be slightly more liberal with the«cheap» liquor.

I’ve always liked London Grill. The older building is charming, the food has been good and they have a nice draft beer selection. They are also a hub for social events like Bastille Day and Philly Beer Week. It’s been ages since I’ve dined there, but my recent bar experiences have gone a little downhill. I think the servers cover the bar area as well as outside, so they are not nearly as attentive as they could be. The length of time between check-ins is a little long and the high-top table guests don’t seem like the biggest priority. Despite the less than attentive service, the staff I’ve encountered has always been pleasant and they have a great retention rate among their bar staff. I feel some of these employees have been around for years. They’ve updated their menus in the restaurant but not online. It’s obviously not a rule their website must be updated, but it does lead to disappointment for this plan-ahead menu stalker. With that being said, I still enjoy the food and there’s enough fun stuff going on over there to keep me coming back. It might be due time to visit the dining room.

Went to dinner last night and was unfortunately not very impressed with the food here. We started out with the arugula salad, which was the best thing we ate. Moving onto our main courses — I ordered the grilled chicken and Brie sandwich. Careful if you don’t like horseradish! The honey mustard is chalked full of it. I was a little disappointed for not being warned. My gf ordered the London burger. The toppings were great. The burger meat tasted more like meat loaf to me. She ordered it medium and of course, my biggest gripe, came out well. Also had the side of baked mac and cheese — nothing special. Bummer!

Beer is great! Food… burnt nachos, skimped on toppings. $ 11.50 for a plate of half-black(literally) chips. Other food was ok(McDonald’s ok), fries are great. Chicken is dry and flavorless. Come here for the bar and fries. Staff is fast and friendly. Great atmosphere.

I was coming from a long day at the Eastern State Penitentiary so I looked around the neighborhood for a unique place to eat at. Stumbled upon this place and thought it was cute and cozy. It definitely had an antique bar vibe. The waitress/bartender was really nice. The food was average. I got the grilled chicken and brie sandwich. It was good but the honey mustard was more overwhelming than I expected… I think it was horseradish sauce because definitely tasted like wasabi and burned my nostrils! The fries were good(well seasoned). My boyfriend got a lackluster omelet and a big bowl of mussels. The mussels were okay. Overall cute neighborhood café.

I want to give this place 4-stars because I eat here so often, but I simply cannot. The staff is friendly, the beer selection is great. The Bloody Mary’s after a long night of drinking are also delicious and refreshing(and I don’t even like Bloody Mary’s). The menu is small, but to the point. The problem with this place lies in the consistency. Sometimes I come here and get an incredible meal; other times I come, order the same thing, and it’s crap. The London Burger is great. It’s good quality ingredients, served on an English Muffin(nice unique little touch), but too many times has my «medium burger» come out completely rare. More than anything I really WANT London to be good because most food in Fairmount is average, but sadly they are falling into the same category.

Dining Partner and I strolled down Fairmount Ave on Sunday morning around 10am looking for a brunch spot. We were hoping for outside seating and once I spotted the fried chicken and biscuit(with egg and gravy) on the menu at London Grill I knew we needed to stay. We plopped ourselves down at a table. I ordered my dish and Dining Partner opted for the Eggs Benedict. I also ordered a raspberry iced tea which was really freshing. Before our food arrived, the waitress brought out a small plate of fresh baked sweet bread and a few small pieces of fruit, a nice touch. The service was good and the food was solid. A decent brunch spot, especially if you’re looking to sit outside and people watch.

In town for a yearly race and last year we randomly stumbled upon London Grill. What a great find!!! First experience was lovely, 4 – 5 star quality. Unfortunately last weekend was a totally different experience. Service was incredibly slow. We ordered 2 bloody Mary’s and the fried pickles and headed inside to the make your own bloody bar that we fell in love with a year prior. Everything looked the same so we were quite excited! When we returned to our table it had been cleared. We were literally inside for 2 minutes and my purse remained on the table. The hostess was apologetic so it wasn’t a big deal and we were about to consume the best bloody in town! Sad to report the pickles were completely limp and lacked flavor and although they mirrored olives the olives did not taste like an olive. They had a metallic undertone. The pickled carrots weren’t enjoyed as well. Disappointing because all these items were overwhelmingly delicious a year prior! I didn’t even finish mine. After a long wait, the fried pickles arrived. We each tried 2 and didn’t touch the rest. The pickles were super slimy and all different sizes. Some were thickly sliced, others super thin, not a good idea for the method of frying! They didn’t even stay together when we tried eating… gross. Our server finally returned so we elected to close out our tab and dine elsewhere. After reading recent reviews I’m not alone with saying that London Grill has gone down hill. :(Disappointed especially because this place was pure magic a year ago!

Came back again with high expectations but very disappointing. Will not be back. Bloody Mary bar is still nice but the veggies(pickles, pickled carrots, olives) all seemed old and as though they’d been sitting out too long. I ordered a specific vodka off the menu hat was clearly $ 7 and was charged $ 8. Minor but annoying and wrong. Server tried to sell me on an infusion which was more $$. No thanks. Service was friendly but soooo slowwwwwww. Ordered fried pickles, the only fried food I’ll indulge in… Complete disappointment. Pickle slices were massive, poorly cut, different sizes, all too thick. It became pickle mushiness inside the fried breading, and literally fell apart completely when we tried to eat them. Over cooked and poorly executed. Disappointment all around.

THISREVIEWISFORFAIRMOUNTFOODCRAWLONLY The Mrs. and I made a plan of attack and I will be honest that I did not think we would succeed, but we made it to all 14 locations and got to sample all 14 different beverage samples. SPOT1 This was our first stop on the food crawl adventure. Made in plenty of time, we sat while the staff were finishing with the set up then bellied up our way to the chafing dishes. Food — pork skewer, pulled pork + pineapple taco, bacon brownie. Drink — Blackberry Bramble The food was very tasty. Could have been a bit hotter, but was a great start to the day. The drink was pleasant enough liking a hot summer day better than a cool late morning.

I come here for Monday night Quizzo and their awesome kale salad. It’s filling, but not filling to the point where you’re uncomfortable and angry you can’t finish your beer. Great beer selection. I’m an indecisive soul, the awesome bartender on Monday nights suggested I get the Ol’ Fashioned Willie. It was an excellent cocktail drink with beer — no complaints here. Quizzo itself is great, consisting of 4 rounds. It never gets annoyingly crowded and the crowd is nice and non-cheating. Cool place. Nice neighborhood feel. I do wish they had more specials during quizzo though. Did I mention it has interesting bathroom décor?

I really like London for the location and the bar, though I’m challenged by their menu, and sometimes inconsistent schedule as a result of special catering events.

The food was impeccable, but the waiter definitely made the experience more difficult to enjoy. First off, they lost my reservation I had made weeks prior to the date. Luckily, they were still able to seat is but losing the reservation was a bit off putting. When we ordered our wine, the one we ordered was no longer being served because our waiter gave us an older drink menu. When we asked for the updated one, he gave us the same menu. No big, we just ordered a regular wine but still seemed a bit weird. The bread was served cold and it was difficult to make any additions or substitutions to the menu items with the waiter agreeing. But once the food came out, it was all worth the hassle! We got simple vegetable dishes that turned out to be AMAZING. The food here made up for, for the most part, the relatively poor waiting service.

Three words = Bloody Mary bar. Snagged a table outside for a pick-me-up during brunch on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. I was craving a good Bloody and was super stoked that London Grill has endless options for Bloody Marys including house-infused vodkas, pickled vegetables, a plethora of hot sauces, etc. And brunch-goers: you get to be your very own mixologist! And the cherry-on-top = there are Spice Girls Barbie dolls watching over you as you concoct your Bloody. BOOM. All my tweenage + adulthood wishes come true!
