I think the mistake we made here was to order sushi. A place that is a Chinese restaurant cannot also be and amazing sushi place. So, that being said I understand that we are completely at fault here. Perhaps, their Chinese food is wonderful — but we didn’t go for it, and instead ordered sushi which was a big mistake! DONOT order anything raw if you must eat here. I ordered the sushi platter and let me assure you that one of the fish pieces smelled rotten. Likely, it was soaked in some type of vinegar so it would last longer. The seafood was not fresh. Like I said I understand we are at fault and we should’ve never wasted our money or time at this place. Another point, was the overbearing server. He was quite awful, he rushed us into ordering before lunch, although we were not ready. Also there is really no deal on the lunch special. Go ahead and order from the regular menu. The food is tasteless, overpriced and really not worth the aftermath. I have many regrets and one of them is this place. Stay away!

One of the best Chinese places in the roxborough area! The ladies who run this place are super nice and accommodating! Always smiling! The lamb chops and roast pork are my favorite dishes here. The lambchops are easy to chew and super tender! The roast pork is more on the fatty side which I LOVE!!! There’s also a sushi bar– pretty fresh salmon sashimi! They serve alcohol too, cheap drinks. Place is clean and nicely decorated! I would come back if I was craving Asian food and in the area. Located right off ridge pike. It’s in the shopping center behind mcdonalds.

Definitely on my top 5 for local mom and pop shops. They’ve got a very reasonably priced menu with a tasteful selection of Chinese and Japanese food. I personally really like their spicy tuna rolls and their sweet and sour chicken. They deliver and arrive on time, sometimes earlier. Their delivery girl, Virginia, is really funny and seeing her is about as exciting as the food lol

We have ordered here in the past and were very unimpressed. The food is mediocre at best and overpriced for the serving size. We recently received a menu at our door stating they were under new management and had a few coupons. We decided to give them a second chance and ordered a delivery. No real change in the food, leaves a lot to be desired. One thing in particular that was bothersome was that the dumplings were plated on a bed a lettuce and all you could taste was warm lettuce. We will not be ordering from here again and will continue to order from Lucky Garden.

The food is okay atmosphere is also fine as well. Not too much to complain about or praise for that matter. It isnt overpriced but the restaurant is outclassed by another chinese place nearby.

I recently moved to Roxborough with my fiancé and we’ve been trying out Chinese places around us. We went here after a couple others and were not impressed at all. I did not like any of the food(apps and entrée) and was surprised at the price. It’s a bit more expensive than most places, especially for Chinese, and the quality was pretty bad. We’ll be trying more places and definitely not going back here.

Had some friends over so we decided to get some Chinese takeout and this was the closest to my new house. Got the General Tso’s Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Veg Lo Mein. The chicken was pretty good, initially I thought it was too soggy from the sauce, but it turned out to be pretty crispy which is a good sign that it was freshly made. The great thing I thought about this place was that the Sesame wasn’t just General Tso’s with sesame seeds; the sauces definitely seemed different probably due to the different kind of veggies used in the sauce. Still will probably try the other Chinese place around til I find THE one, but this place was a pretty good start. I do wish that the prices were a bit cheaper, but the quality seems to be there.

Be warned menu online is old The prices are way higher! I was told four years old to be exact! Waiters are rude and miserable! My waiter actually stood over me and watch me count my money. I almost forgot the best part– the table next to me had a dead mouse under it– the women screamed and walked out! Food is decent. Ive only went back here after Lucky Star burnt down! I won’t be back again! Cant wait for the reopening of Lucky Star! Lucky star has the Best food!

Kings Palace is great when you find nothing else is open and you are hungry. It usually ends up as a last resort food. They deliver which is great but the food is nothing amazing. The sushi is not so bad but I wouldn’t say it was good. Their kimchi fried rice is really odd tasting and for some reason reminded me of their pad Thai. I have yet to find anything I would particularly recommend.

The food was pathetic. The sushi rolls were ALL rice and very very little substance and they $ 9 seafood salad consisted of very very pieces of dry fish on a bed of lettuce. Very disappointed

This place is across the street from me, so naturally I gravitated towards it when I moved to the area. The delivery takes a long time(an hour plus usually) and the kid that delivers the food smells like smoke. I have had a number of items from the restaurant, and they were fairly decent. The general tso’s chicken mideaswell be orange chicken… lacks flavor and tastes like citrus. The sushi, lo mein, and appetizers are decent… I have had a number of them. One time they delivered my chicken with stringbeans spicy and i didnt request it to be. I’d be very very specific when ordering if I were you.

Supposed to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area… I would have to disagree. I ordered a large pork fried rice on 12÷26÷12 and so far, every other bite I have to spit out a piece of hard fat(or whatever the heck it is). Not at ALL an enjoyable experience… I won’t order from there again.

Pretty much the best in the area. The restaurant is always clean and the bathrooms are tidy too. The waiters are a bit slow sometimes but not to a ridiculous degree and they’re just so cute anyway I personally just find it endearing. Take out is always quick and convenient. The food on all accounts and occasions is always consistent and fresh. I finally tried Philly rolls from here and they were the best I’ve had in years. The delivery is usually pretty decent as far as getting there when they say. A few times they were really late and I had to speak to the girl. Since then they are only a bit late on the usual busy days and times.

I have lived next to the shopping center that King’s Palace is in for the last 5+ years, and am a regular here. I’ve eaten here so many times that I am now friends with the daughter of the family who owns it, and whenever they see me come in they always ask how I am. The food is good, although a few of the items on the menu are a bit pricey. I usually get the Vietnamese spring rolls(the ones with the rice paper that are not fried). In another restaurant, they cost about $ 3.50. At King’s, they are $ 2 more. They are good, but not sure they are worth $ 5.50. The sushi is consistent, and so is the Chinese food. if you eat in the restaurant, be prepared to be there for a little while, the service is slow. The men who I’ve seen waiter there are not the quickest in the world. They have to be reminded several times for water, more of the chinese noodles, or anything else. I think a younger crowd of waiters would do the restaurant some good. I’ve also seen the man who owns the place make a lot of the sushi, which doesn’t make sense. They should have a full time sushi chef. I will continue to eat here because the food is good, but I will always do take out because that is so much quicker, especially if I have places to go and things to do.

Worst Chinese takeout. I’ve eaten at the restaurant a few times and it was very good. I tried delivery and was incredibly disappointed. First, they forgot part of my order and what they did deliver was cold, greasy and bad. Total bummer. I’d eat at the restaurant again(even though service is super slow). But I won’t ever order delivery again.

I tried it for take-out, tried it as a sit-down tonight. Disappointing on both counts. I had both sushi and chinese food. Basic rolls, like California and eel/avacado were bad supermarket grade. Seriously, if you are a sushi restaurant, you should at least be able to create a moist, flavorful roll. Dry and tasted pre-made or left over. For special rolls that are $ 12, they should be able to get it right. Brown rice extra money. Bland chinese food. Waited in line behind party of 6 in cold doorway although restaurant was empty. I saw someone setting up a table, but there were plenty set up already. No reason. Going next time to Chesnut Hill for sit down, even if it’s further.

I’m kind of scared for the people who said that this was the best sushi they’ve ever had. Me? The second WORST sushi I’ve ever eaten. Their Chinese food is average so that is why they are getting two stars instead of one.

Awesome Chinese take-out/eat in restaurant! I’m always a bit leery about Chinese take-out, but King’s Palace was A-okay. They use real chicken in their dishes(not the gray, is-this-really-meat chicken), their sauces have wonderful flavors, and they are extremely prompt and courteous. My favorites are the Orange Chicken and the Cold Sesame Noodles. The Beef and Broccoli is also great. I’ve never had a bad experience at King’s Palace. Finally, a reliable and consistently good Chinese restaurant in the Manayunk/Roxborough vicinity!
