CHEAP. The egg custard, my personal favorite, sells out early but the coconut custard and red bean buns are fantastic as well. There are lots of affordable savory and sweet treats to sample. Did i mention cheap? Why did you close down?!

Hate to break it to all of you 5star reviewers. A rat ran across the floor while i was inside here… Needless to say i didn’t order anything. This wasn’t just a pet rat or mouse, the thing was the size of splinter from teenage mutant ninja turtles. Matter of fact i think it wanted to strike up a conversation

It pains me to write this review because the lady behind the counter was sweet. We wanted to try Pork Buns all over China Town to see who had the best, and Harmony Bakery had the worst. There wasn’t any Pork in the bun, only tiny chunks on top. I also ordered a Taro bun and it wasn’t filled. just random taro bits in the bun. I should have read the reviews first and tried something else. We will definitely come back and see what else they have to offer.

Out of all bakeries in Chinatown, this bakery isn’t really special. Rating it from poor to average — it is a bit hard to decide. The pastries here are expensive for poorly baked pastries. Too sweet and creamy for most. Their bubble teas are also horrible, giving it a 5⁄10. However, this bakery also serves food. Yup! Most of my friends come here just for a quick bite of wontons and soup. The cooks here can make good food, but somehow the main purpose of this bakery is a pretty low strive.

Wow– I just read all the reviews and have yet to discover even more deliciousness from my favorite bakery! I have been to almost all of the Chinatown bakeries, in search of the best buns mostly, and have def. found it in Harmony! Their almond and coconut buns(about $.75-$ 1) melt in your mouth. The bread is soft and slightly sweet and inside you’ll find a treat– much like cookie dough in whichever flavor you’ve chosen! YUM! They also have red bean cakes that taste like peanut butter and jelly and their honey cakes right next to those are delicious, too(for you non-bean-eaters!). I stay away from the stuff in the case to the left– it looks too frou-frou for me, but if you like whipped cream and fake fruit– go for it! I’ll be back for the yogurt pop smoothie because I love their drinks and I’ll try anything once! I’ve had the Thai tea bunches of times, with or without regular tapioca«bubbles»(I just save my $.50 now that the novelty has worn off) and their Vietnamese coffee is superb. Be forewarned, you need to have about 10 minutes on your hands if you order the Vietnamese coffee cause they strain it(not sure what the technical term would be) and then add condensed milk(you can ask for skim, but try it their way first– I dare you!). It is so good! I’m also going to try some of the food eventually, but this place gets 5-stars because the service is also great and their selection is unmatched.

Harmony Bakery is my #1 obsession of the moment for the fresh strawberry smoothie with yogurt bubbles in them. With the thick straw, I sucked up the first white bubble and bit into it. A tangy burst of thin yogurt coated my tongue, elevating this smoothie to something more than just a bakery beverage– it is entertainment, it is molecular gastronomy, it intrigues you until it is finish, and then it haunts you as you crave it. Put this in a glass bowl over a black sesame brownie, call it Sunken Treasure Pearls, charge $ 14 and serve at Morimoto. Plus they use fresh fruit. Just make sure you get what you ask for, sometimes they get confused and don’t add the bubbles. Skip the baked goods here and get the $ 2 giant pile of rice noodle roll. It is plain, as it should be, so load on as much soy or hot sauce as you like. The shrimp filling was not the large juicy pieces you might find at dim sum, but it was still satisfying. And its a nice, non greasy option. Unlike the crispy salt pepper chicken wings. These guys are are crispy and aromatic with a lot of chicken on each wing.

YOGURTPOPSMOOTHIES. Freshly blended mango, honey dew, or strawberry poured over a heap of miniature yogurt bubbles. And they’re not called«pop bubbles» for nothing — those things truly explode in your mouth. Absolutely amazing, you really need to try it. Plus the service was very friendly and welcoming — they even let me sample the bubbles first. I opted for the mango smoothie and, I have to say, it ranked in my top 3 smoothies of all time. Thanks for being awesome, Harmony. I didn’t try any of their bakery items but everything looked extremely fresh and delectable. I think I’m going to have to try a 75c sesame ball next time.

I love this place so much, I figured that I would post the menu. I must say that the curry chicken, beef chow fun, and chicken pad thai are great. It’s a bit hard to order over the phone, but if you walk in and point to the menu, you are in for a treat.
