Good food and service wrapped up in a small space. They have a lot of carryout and delivery customers. There were on four dine in customers when we were there. Brought a few brews, ordered food, enjoyed dining without a bunch of jack wagons like the fancy Mexican places and tipped well for service, food and not ordering any sodas from the impressive Mexican soft drink selection.

This place is a yet another great taqueria in South Philly! I came in for take-out and got the food pretty quickly. I ordered 3 tacos: steak, carnitas, and al pastor. Each of them were great. All the meats were well cooked, moist, flavorful and tender. The only«downside» is that it’s more expensive($ 2-$ 3 more) than the other great taquerias in the area so I don’t know why they charge more. Nonetheless I recommend this place and will be back.

This is hands down my favorite Mexican spot in the neighborhood. Shrimp dishes are always on point and great tacos. Right now slightly obsessed with the stuffed jalapeño.

Was there for the first time today, co-worker recommended and brought me there. Place is tiny, like 5 – 6 tables, very clean, reasonably priced, great service and most of all was delicious! I had a Burrito Jarocho. Will definitely come back again!

Um, YES, let’s TACO ’bout how great this place is! [haha] It’s one of my friend’s favorite hole-in-the-wall type restaurants in Philly, so I had heard a lot from him about good it was prior to my visit(fun fact: he likes this place so much that his wifi password is ‘El Jarocho’ — go figure). I was still somewhat skeptical going in; I mean, it was only one man’s opinion. However, one visit was all it took for me to be fully convinced that this place might actually serve some of the best tacos to be found in Philly. The servings are rather sizable(especially considering that they give us an initial basket of chips with salsa for the table for FREE), and the tacos came with a few tasty veggies to complement the tacos. I think the three tacos that I tried were chorizo, steak, and tripe. My favorite was definitely the tripe — I didn’t even know tripe tacos existed! The others were delicious too, even though I thought the chorizo was slightly more salty than I would have preferred. I was wavering between the 4 or 5 stars, but I eventually had to round down because the ambiance/service wasn’t particularly spectacular… in fact, we had an extraordinarily long wait for our food, but my friend did inform me that it was not normally so slow. I’d def recommend this place for any taco lovers out there though, and look forward to my next visit :)

Best Tacos of all time. So much flavor! So juicy! I ordered the steak tacos with side of sour. If you’re looking for super authentic Mexican place this is the place to be. Atmosphere is pizza shop like but prices are very cheap also. I have tried Loco pez(great atmophere) or Prima Pizza Taqueria(Great after hours tacos) and this the place to be if you’re interested sorely in food and flavor.

One of the best, authentic Mexican/South American food restaurants in the city. Al Pastor is amazing here.

The tacos look amazing! I regret I did not get any despite recommendations. The rest of the table got tacos and I was so envious of all the greens(lots of cilantro) they came with and the corn tortilla(I prefer them oven flour tortillas). I went with their el jarocho burrito which was a slightly spicy shrimp burrito. I do not recommend it simply because it was rather boring compared to the tacos. It had a chipotle sauce, small shrimps, lettuce, beans, and some rice. I do not recommend the horchata. It tasted like fountain soda horchata, not home made. I will have to come back here and get tacos next time!

My favorite Mexican restaurant In the city. Unbelievably consistent and pretty fast service. Our typical order is the steak burrito and spicy shrimp burrito. The quesadilla is also really good. It’s different from the usual American style, but it’s worth trying! You also get fresh Chips and 2 styles salsa/hot sauce if you dine in. Make sure to request it if you call for delivery.

How did I not know about this spot. My go to in South Philly was always Rosario’s Pizza but this place found a special place in my heart. We got delivery and the guy was here quick. The Cemisa is great. Azteca burrito wont disappoint. All told I think we spent $ 22 and we got chips and salsa. Would have liked a few more chips than we got but everything was great.

Fours stars alone for the awesome al pastor tacos. I love these things: the pork is nicely marinaded in some kind of spicy red sauce and it’s cut well without too much fat on it. The fresh onions, cilantro, and lime on top makes for a wonderful blend of flavors without overpowering one another. And the tortillas taste homemade to me, but I can’t be sure of that. Salsa is also a must on these tacos as well. It’s a small establishment so you might want to take seating into consideration. I highly recommend this place though, it’s great!

Good food. I was the only vegetarian in my group. I got the veggie fajita mixata and it was pretty good but was a bit too salty. 3⁄5 stars bc the place was tiny and the food was a bit too salty. I got annoyed bc they had changed the prices on their menu but the waitress didn’t inform me and my food ended up being a bit more expensive than anticipated. Be sure to ask about their prices!

Usually my go to spot Mexican food. When you sit down, you get complementary chips and salsa. There’s about 10 tables there and something playing on the tv. I get the tacos — chorizo, steak, and beef. Comes with raw onions, cilantro, radishes, cactus, and lime. You can taste the soy sauce that they use in their food, which I don’t mind. There are also two sauces that you get — I like the red one which is a chipotle sauce.

This is an amazing spot to get Mexican food. The portions are huge and prices are amazing. A burrito from here could feed you for two days. They have anything you could imagine, and way more than you would ever find at Chipotle. One of the reviews below complains about the waitstaff and communication. This may be due to the fact that some of the folks who work there speak Spanish and not English. Regardless of this, your order will be understood! The service is pretty fast. I live two blocks from here so I always pick up. I will say that if you want to eat in and it’s summer, there is no AC so prepare yourself!

Ordered delivery via Eat24. I would have given 5 stars but delivery took a little longer than promised and food was a little cold. Otherwise, everything was absolutely delicious! We ordered chicken nachos, tacos al pastor and a combo with chicken enchilada and crispy taco. Everything was flavorful, moist and very good! Can’t wait to order again!

Could be the best soft tacos I have ever eaten. The perfect night for takeout in Philadelphia may have been last night… it resulted in the discovery of Tacos al pastor, a big winner here. No fluff just delicious tacos. I’m not saying I’m thrilled that I had to cancel a reservations at Abe Fisher as a result of travel delays, but this was a surprisingly comfortable turn of events. Bravo.

Being a huge Mexican fan, I’ve been to a good number of Taco places in Philadelphia but this one is one of my favorites. Obviously, it doesn’t compare to the delicious authentic tacos I’ve had in the West coast but this place fulfills my taco craving from time to time. The portions are big and depending on what you get the meat is nicely flavored. It’s not your cheapest taco restaurant but you get a huge portion for your bucks. The place is very small and cozy, fast service, and easy street parking. Food comments: The Guac: It’s huge and tasty Al Pastor Tacos: My favorite Chicken Tacos: Usually not a huge fan of chicken tacos but these are marinated really well. Sopes: Had better elsewhere, a little oily and too much breading. Carnitas: Had better elsewhere, wasn’t my favorite.

So I’m here from NYC came here to see my sister. We read loads of reviews & decided to come here instead of a place called«pistoles» anyway let me get to the point … It SUCKED!!! Let me tell you how tasteless this place is & how the waitress lacked all communication skills. How can I order something I want if I can’t even get through to her. She straight up told me I can’t have shredded chicken on my rice when they have it in an enchilada form. The shrimp tacos taste like they’re out of a can. Don’t get! I advise DONOT! Steak tacos were bland, dry, lacked in flavor. Waste of calories! They gave us a complimentary chips and dip and the chips tasted like fried pitas. I can’t believe this is considered«AUTHENTIC» if this authentic Mexican then I have been living a lie my whole life. Save yourself taste, calories, money, gas etc The hot sauce they had on the table helped with taste tremendously but who goes to a restaurant to have a plate full of hot sauce. Wow what a disappointment !!!
