When I’m down the hood this my spot for a donut and a big smile!

There seems to be a few of these donut shops scattered around Philly. It’s a Dunkin’ Donuts copy-cat, but I like it. They carry the exact same donut varieties, and the pastries even look the same as their counterparts at Dunkin’, but I’d argue that the donuts taste better at Donut Plus. I usually get two blueberry donuts and a small coffee for $ 2.35. The blueberry donuts are a little denser than at Dunkin’ and taste like they were recently fried and glazed. Can’t beat ‘em for the price. They have a great location at Broad and Erie and make for a quick, convenient stop if you’re waiting for a bus or need to grab breakfast before hopping on the subway. A few words of warning: 1. The coffee is horrible, but it’s cheap. You get what you pay for I guess. 2. As with all bakeries, it’s probably best to eat the baked goods in the morning. They’re definitely not as tasty when they’ve been sitting out for a while. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts at the same intersection, but I come here every time. It’s cheaper, I think it tastes better, and I like supporting the little guy.
