I went to the truck at Love park, I’m used to Maryland Style crab cakes, but I have to say that this is as close as you can get in Philly. «Lightly panko crusted and loaded with Crab meat» are the exact words I would use to describe my crab cake sandwich today and $ 10 wont brake the bank if you’re dying for a crab cake. I can’t wait for them to revisit on the 28th so I can try their Fried clams and Oysters for $ 3 and $ 4. Great food and friendly service

The service is slow at this truck so it’s not the place to go if you are in a rush or it’s cold. They do serve a tasty crabcake. You can taste the lumps of crab, so there is little to no filler. The sandwich would be better if it was on a higher quality roll. The cheap roll doesn’t match up to the quality of the crab cake. But you can get just a crabcake platter. Fries are only OK. You can find this truck at Love Park or in the City Hall courtyard a few times per month.

Out of 5 trucks this had the longest line so my wife and I jumped in. Long wait time to order and wait time for food. The food was awesome crab Mac and cheese, crab cake, and clam strips. It was outstanding both my wife and I really enjoyed it!

Just had the Bravo combo — crab cake sandwich, crab mac, and clam strips. Good portions and good food! Will look forward to seeing this food truck again.

Got the crab mac and cheese. The price was right, only $ 4 for a fairly big portion. The taste of the crab was a bit overpowering though, there was a lot of it. All in all not bad, but I wouldn’t order it again.

I was very impressed with the quality of the crab cake, crab Mac & cheese and clam strips. There were nice lumps of crabmeat and it didn’t taste cheap like other reviewers noted. The service was friendly, fast and the food was fresh. They had tons of condiments to choose from but I didn’t actually need much extra because the food was flavored so nicely. I’m glad these guys made a stop at The Oval. I felt my $ 13 was well spent and I was stuffed!!! The Bravo platter could easily be shared, but it was so yummy I finished it all!

Well, that was a waste of money. I got the crab cake, clam strips and old bay fries. The crab cake was a good size, nice texture, but very bland. I prefer tartar sauce with crab cakes and they give cocktail sauce. I actually used it to put some flavor in the crab. The clam strips were great — crispy on the outside, but not over cooked! The fries were terrible — very skinny, cold and dried out.

I ordered the ‘world’s best crab cake’. I was very disappointed. It was real crab, however, the cheapest it comes. It did not have the meaty, flavorful bite I look for in a crab cake. It lacked any type of seasoning as well. To top it off, I received a packet of warm tartar sauce; not even homemade! A friend of mine ordered the bacon cheeseburger. To keep it simple, this man does not waste food. Half of the burger was thrown out. It could have been an off day for Chef Johnny Bravo, however, I will not be returning to waste my money again.

I wouldn’t say this is the world’s best crabcake, but it’s certainly quite solid, especially considering it’s coming from a mobile kitchen. The crabcake itself is pure crabmeat, but it tastes like the cheaper Asian blue crabmeat, not the firm lumps we used to get from Louisiana. Big points for the frying method and the choice of coating, which appears to be panko crust. Whatever it is, the crunchy coating tastes like beer battered fries which is a big plus. Big points for the presentation of the sandwich, the use of the softest of rolls, and the lettuce and tomato. It looks like a big little sandwich in my hand. This is not a cheap truck sandwich at $ 8.50, but it’s worth a try. I’d like to go back for the shrimp taco sometime.
