Upon visiting RTM on 12/23, I purchased a bottle of Red Horizon wine($ 12). I didn’t get around to drinking it during the holidays, so it ended up traveling back with me to PGH. I ended up drinking it with good friends – as all wine should be properly drunk – at a party last weekend, and it was quite an enjoyable experience. Per the recommendation of the shopkeeper, I made sure to serve the wine chilled. As expected, based on the description, it was on the sweeter side. This went over well with my friend hosting the party given that she’s a fan of moscato. This was one of the only sweet red wines I’ve tried, given that most red wines tend to be on the dry side, so I don’t have many other samples to judge by. Having said that, I found it quite delicious and enjoyable, as did my friends. It made a great dessert wine, which was quite appropriate given the time of the party and the food served at it. Overall, my friends and I were pleased with the Red Horizon wine that I purchased from Blue Mountain Vineyards. The price is quite reasonable for this type of wine, and service was friendly – the woman working at the counter was happy to let me sample before committing. If you’re considering one of the sweeter wines, I recommend buying a bottle, as glasses run $ 6, and each bottle contains 4 – 5 glasses. Cheers!

Nice little winery inside of the reading terminal. I went for a wine tasting and it was more of an upbeat class than your normal tasting. The rep that led our tasting(don’t remember her name) was knowledgeable, fun, and really kept us involved. I cannot say enough good things about her she was so energetic kept our attention and really knew all about each wine. The tasting was super fun! This was my first time trying riesling and I really did like it. I bought a bottle of this for home. I usually like reds more than whites and am trying to expand my palate. This class was really invigorating for me and even my fiancé who is not a big wine drinker enjoyed the tasting. I have stopped in before for a glass of wine and really enjoy the décor and all the wine accessory merchandise. Make this a stop when visiting the reading terminal!

I had an absolutely wonderful at the winery. My friends and I had a groupon for the Chocolate & Wine tasting. Joe gave a wonderful tour and his wife Victoria facilitated a delightful tasting. The view is lovely. Stop by for a tasting and sip a glass or two on the porch. It makes for an absolutely fantastic Saturday afternoon. ETA: We went to the main winery in New Triploi, PA

Pros: –Cute space with lots of wine related gifts –Adorable archway by the window with some café tables to sit and sip a glass of wine –We were allowed to sample little sips of as many wines as we wanted before choosing one glass for $ 5 –Had we bought cheeses/snacks in the market, we could have brought them to eat with a glass of wine Cons: –The only white wines were chardonnay and riesling, neither of which I care for –The wine wasn’t very good– kind of watery and tasteless

Blue Mountain is a great spot for relaxing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Reading Terminal Market. My husband and I were there on a very busy day and enjoyed getting to kick back with a glass of vino. We went for the meritage. It was good, but not my favorite. The staff was very friendly and I could tell that they have a real passion for their wines. I was happy to get to try a local wine and to have a spot to sit for a few minutes.

Blue Mountain Vineyards and Cellars is in the Reading Terminal Market. Its a pretty cool place to chill and have a couple of glasses of wine after you’ve been walking around the market all day. It only has two little tables with four chairs but its a really cute little place. The woman that helped us was very friendly & helpful. You can buy wine by the glass for $ 6 and drink it there or you can buy a bottle for $ 12.My favorite was Mountain Frost because it was the sweetest one and my sister liked Bris Blush which was also sweet but maybe not as sweet. They both have 12% alcohol by volume and tasted great ! If you’re not sure which one you ll like they will let you taste a little bit of the wine before you buy a whole bottle. Besides wine they also have other cool stuff in the store like wine stoppers, carrying cases, corkscrews, t-shirts etc… If you’re ever in Reading Terminal Market you should definitely stop by & have a taste.

Located inside Reading Terminal Market this place offers a great way to sample local wines. Several wines are available by the glass for only $ 6. The staff is very knowledgable about their wines. They have a great selection as well. The Blue Mountain Vineyard is only about an hour and 45 minutes away. You can also buy the wines online @

After walking around with a bunch of teenagers and a 2 year old, in a tight, bustling space with a stroller(note to self, no stroller at Reading Terminal Market), it was a sight for a sore eyes to see a wine shop! I immediately went up and was able to taste a few selections… I’m more a middle of the road(not too dry, not too sweet), but that Victoria’s Passion sweet red really left a mark on my tastebuds. I decided to purchase a glass($ 6) and drink it right then and also a bottle to go. Really enjoyed it!

While exploring the Reading Terminal Market, I happened upon BMV&C tucked away in a corner at the opposite end of the market. As I am slowly learning more about wine and taking particular interest in supporting smaller, local businesses, I was excited to discover hidden gem within. Most of the domestic wines I’ve sampled hail from California, so it was wonderfully refreshing to try something from the east coast. Aside from the buxom selection of wines, the shop also had cute t-shirts, gizmos, acccessories, and bar and stemware available for purchase. Having their pamphlets on the counter highlighting their selection is great for out-of-towners or those wanting a little more time to mull over their investment choices. It was mentioned that they do ship, so I’m excited about adding additional bottles to my collections oon. I was able to sample one of the wines and I really enjoyed the Petit Syrah. What cemented the sale for me was the advice of the sales representative. «I should really push the Meritage, but based on what you’ve told me about your preferences, I’d recommend the Petit Syrah.» Wine vendors who genuinely listen to the palate preferences of the customer reign supreme for me as a novice wine student. Thank you for not pushing me to buy the more expensive bottle of wine purely to bolster your bottom line. I hope to sample more of their wines next time I am in town.

The wine was fantastic on all accounts! The owner was incredibly knowledgable and sociable; I learned so much about wine and what goes into making it. Also, the vineyard itself is in a wonderful location and very beautiful. I highly recommend this place and their wine, especially the Mountain Frost(sweet white), Red Horizon(sweet red), and the Merlot.

This little wine shop has a good selection of sweet reds. The customer service is excellent; and, I felt that I was given just the amount of attention I needed, without being pressured to purchase. I tasted a few before settling on one bottle that I wish I’d bought two of. It never seemed to be crowded, and my visit was both informative and pleasant. I’ll be back one day…

Lots of great PA wines to choose from with good tastings and pairings. Great location and a great stop. Looking forward to picking up some more wines passing through.

A little nook in the Reading Market where I had a glass of surprisingly good wine, the Meritage .The baretender/server was very nice to me .I was having a bit of a problem .My humus was leaking!(purchased it at another stand and they didn’t seal it right). She gave me a plastic bag and I salvaged the middle eastern treat. Was also vastly amused by a little«pick up» or assignation action taking place and I needed to sit.

One of the best wine tasting I’ve been to. You could really tell the Taster was passionate about wine and wanted to share that passion with others. They weren’t pushy about there wine being the best it was more about getting people to appreciate wine more and be able to better express what they are looking for when they order a glass or bottle. The taster was super knowledgeable and willing to answer any question asked. Totally recommend doing a tasting here and the wine was good too!

Pretty good wine. I’ve had their wine before. My man brought me some home when he was here last in May earlier this year. We tasted the Red Horizon a sweet red & the Mountain Frost a sweet white. Both are very good & of course we had to buy a bottle of each to take back home to O-H-I-O. You can taste anything you want as long as they already have an bottle open. That’s a good policy… we’ve been to other wineries that will only let you taste if you buy at least 3 bottles.

Second time back to this spot in the Reading Terminal Market. I love the Bri Blush and the Cabernet. Full flavor and clean taste. I enjoy the little taste tests before buying. A great stop for anyone looking for good wine in PA.

My first thought when the gf and I stepped into the Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars shop in Reading Terminal Market was«I didn’t know they made wine in Pennsylvania!» Well, that’s a slight exaggeration since pretty much every state in the U.S. has at least one winery of sorts making wines with varying degrees of success. Still, I didn’t know anything about PA’s wine industry let alone Blue Mountain Vineyards in the Lehigh Valley. Always looking to try something new, we decided to see about trying a wine tasting. While they may offer wine tastings at the actual winery, the tiny shop in Reading Terminal Market doesn’t…per se. They do sell glasses of wine for $ 5(or was it $ 6?), however, the very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable people behind the counter let us sample several wines to help us make our selection. I had sips of the Pinot Noir($ 18), Chambourcin($ 16), and their Blue Heron Meritage($ 25). All of the red wines had a nice nose and possessed the tasting notes you come to expect in those red wines, but since I lean toward fuller bodied reds, I opted for a glass of the Meritage. I enjoyed it so much; I bought two bottles of the stuff! As I walked out of the shop, my lasting thought was«Who knew they made GOOD wine in Pennsylvania?»

I can’t resist checking out the selection here whenever I’m in Reading Terminal Market. This little corner of the market makes for a quiet little getaway from the hustle and bustle around the rest of the floor. I haven’t tried a bottle here that I didn’t love! Their sweet wines are great for dessert without being too syrupy. Try the Victoria’s Passion with chocolate! It really changes the taste. The Red Horizon(red, in case you couldn’t tell), Bri’s Blush(white), and Mountain Frost(white) were also lovely. The woman who works here is always ready with a recommendation and smile to help you out. Most wines are in the $ 10 to $ 20 range. There are some that are a bit more expensive, which I haven’t tried, but I’ll bet are delicious!

I have two wine stores that I go to regularly. One is the type where the staff asks you questions and makes recommendations. I rarely leave that one with a wine I don’t like. The other is super close to my home, very cheap, and offers little advice. I have never left that one with a wine that I liked. This tells me that I know so little about wine that I would be better off grabbing a bottle at random than using my own judgement. I picked a bottle by myself at Blue Mountain, and it was actually pretty good. Since I’m almost assured to pick the worst wine available at any store, that says a lot for the selection at Blue Mountain.
