Bad Mexican food is good. Great Mexican food is a revelation. This place is pretty close to great, and worth a return visit to see if it can be. The service was quick, the atmosphere was cozy. Prices were fair. I really can’t complain about a delicious chile relleno and enchilada. Only markdowns were that my horchata was maybe a little too heavy on the cinnamon, but that’s an issue of personal taste and that the salsa served with my chips was just average. Otherwise, a really great experience.

This is my favorite Mexican place by far! We love that they have salsa and cheese sauce for the chips. The food is always so delicious and service is great and friendly with the same people. My husband really doesn’t like Mexican, so he always orders the spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread. They have something for everyone. The margaritas are a little watered down so you can hardly taste the alcohol. The desserts are delicious!

Must have been a bad night… no chilli rellano, no guacamole, rice had no flavor, beans sat too long, sour cream seen better days, $ 30 plus credit card surcharge for poorly prepared and presented food. Very small Chilli Verde portions, worst Mexican in a long time. Street vendor around the corner is way better. First and last time here!

Arrived for an early dinner. Ordered one blended and frozen margarita. The drinks were too light and you could not taste the alcohol. A large horchata had a nice flavor but was extremely sweet. The portions were small, food subpar and overall nothing special. Nothing to remember.

Stopped in while in the road and we are glad we did. Nice sized portions, friendly quick service and good tasting food. Beans were delish.

It’s a matter of taste in Mexican food. El Guadalajarat has good rankings by Unilocal reviewers, so why not try it? We didn’t share the popular applause. It started badly with the chips being pressed and out of a plastic bag, the salsa was mostly water with no taste. The cheese encheladas were shy of cheese. The tamale was mostly corn filler. BUT the chili relleno was outstanding! We didn’t care for El Guadalajara, but it’s a matter of taste.

I have been to this place dating back to 2007. I have always liked it. I was back in town and my family and I went in and we all really liked it. My brother in law tried their $ 15 burrito in 15 mins. It was massive and he wasn’t able to do it. The leftovers will last him a couple more meals though. Good value. Only negative is I thought the chips weren’t great, they used to be better.

Pretty damn good food here. I wouldn’t call it authentic by any means, but it was flavorful and well-prepared. I thought I’d read people griping about the small amount of food — did they eat at the same place? I could barely eat half of my burrito. Do yourself and order a horchata — it’s only $ 2 and it comes in a huge glass. What really puts this place over the top is the service. The servers are very attentive and super friendly. It definitely has the feel of a mom and pop operation. Prices are reasonable.

Just OK… wish the food had more flavor but it tastes fresh. I have a feeling they tone down the flavor so white people will come here, Taco Bell has more flavor and spice. Much better than that other Mexican restaurant but that’s not saying much. No free refills on the soda!!! WHY? Soda costs next to nothing. Portions are not that big, you won’t leave with leftovers and the prices are not great for Mexican food. But again the food tastes fresh and this is Fernley.

Been to this place for ten years. Consistently OK. Not great but OK. An oddity is that they never have«agua mineral.» No self-respecting Mexican place should lack mineral water… something taco trucks have.

On our way home on a long road trip and needed a stop for some good Mexican food. Stopped in with our 4 kids and got right in. Service was prompt and friendly. We got the large soft tacos…2 is more than plenty each… they are large! The large tacos were only $ 2.95 a piece. Plenty of food for everyone… even the kids meals are good portions. Definitely recommend you stop and give them a try.

I wasn’t going to share… I have dined here about ten times while coming through town. The mom is sooooo nice and one son. Thursday my husband ordered(I was real sick). The food wasn’t what I had wanted, at all. I called to let them know, etc., the other son was so rude, EVEN if my husband had made the ordering error, I don’t believe anyone should have responded the way he did. I finally asked him what can I do about my order(we were already about 30 miles out of town). HESAID I DON’T CAREWHATYOUDOWITHYOURORDER. For that reason alone, we will not return. Like I said, the mom and one son were so nice, but there are other places around to eat. My husband works hard for his money and everyone deserves to be treated better than that. I averaged my multiple great service level, and added the bad service level and came up with two stars.

This place is great! Went to dinner there on a Monday night, and the food was good and the service was great! This place deserves a higher rating than Taco Bell, come on people! I ordered the beef taco and rice and beans special, all was good! Came with chips and salsa, and cheese sauce!!! tasty! Bright atmosphere inside, nice family place! :) Id go again for sure! Excellent service! :) :) :)

The reviews were so mixed here, but now that I’ve gone here i will never go back. The service was great, however the food for all 6 of us was cold and had not flavor. I’am usually pretty forgiving but I would hate to have someone else waste time and money.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch… and the food, service and facilities were fine. The portions, as I recall, were beyond HUGE… much to my pleasure! The food prices were fine, too. I’ll go back, I’m sure!

Stopped here for lunch on a long road trip and was not disappointed — thank you Unilocal!Service was great, food came quickly, food was delicious, couple of drink refills, free chips/salsa — what’s not to like! If you feel like sit down Mexican you’re not going to be disappointed eating here.

I really liked this little joint. It’s kinda a hole in the wall and I love it the more for that. We’ve been here twice and had a great experience both times so I’m confident my enjoyment of the place was not a one time fluke. So on to the food. The chips were hot and fresh both times and the salsa is so yummy. Seriously I could eat just the chips and salsa and be happy. The first time I had a combo with a beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. The taco was ok, nothing super amazing, but I really dug the enchiladas. The sauce was flavorful but not too spicy so it was perfect to me and it had the right amount of delicious melty cheese inside. The rice was pretty decent and the beans were great. I’m a huge fan of refried beans as they were pretty much a staple of my childhood diet so I was so happy to find some good beans. They are not the best I’ve had but they are certainly better than most places. I dug them. The second time I just had the enchilada meal and was very happy again. My husband had the carne asda the first time and enjoyed it and I think he got a carne asda burrito the second time. He was happy both times and the bill was reasonable considering how much food we got and how much chips and salsa we ate. Bottom line, its by far the best traditional Mexican place in Fernley.(If you want really great stuff you have to go all the way to Reno.) The service was good both times and the food was tasty and we enjoyed the experience and plan to go back many more times. I just need to branch out and try some other things next time.
