This was the perfect Sunday afternoon massage. It’s not a luxury spa — the walls were a bit thin/​it was missing the little details that can take an experience to the next level– but my 60 minutes felt so relaxing and healing. I think it’s probably worth the full price, and DEFINITELY worth the Groupon price.

I recently had the pleasure of having a tour of this fine business. Kelly, the owner, has put in so much thought and good energy into making this a place of «peace». She recently designed a «couples» retreat room, dedicated to her mom, that is nothing like I have ever seen before. You must stop in to see it, as words can’t describe the amazing atmosphere she has created. Her prices are very fair, the services quite varied and specific for your needs, and the location is convenient. It might be hard to find, as it is in the bottom of the condos on East 9 Mile and Bermuda, and there is alot going on there. It is WORTH the find however! Look for her!

Today I used a groupon to try this place out. I live here in Ferndale and wanted to find something local. My therapist who was LaTia totally rocked it out for me. She asked what level of massage I wanted and told her a deep tissue that will make me sore afterwards. She so delivered!!! Literally one of the best massages I have had thanks honey.

Came here because I seen a deal for a couples massage on Groupon. I booked an appointment a week in advance. The receptionist took the Groupon over the phone. Fast forward to day of massage, place was easy to find. Parking is available in the street. (Bring quarters to feed the meter.) The décor is very nice and spa-​like. The receptionist looked like she didn’t want to be bothered, though she was trying to be nice. I thought my appointment was at 11am but after waiting and then asking the receptionist how long it will be, she told me the appointment was actually at 11:15am, which I can understand because there are forms that have to be filled out prior to getting the massage. I went into the massage room at 11:19am. (Which is not bad) My massage therapist was Randy, very nice guy. He asked me is there anything specific he should work on, how the pressure is, etc. The other therapist was LaTia, very nice young lady. She also did the same for my partner. Overall, massage was nothing special, but it was good. The atmosphere was great. The massage therapists are very nice.

Awesome spot for a great massage! Not a fussy or fancy spa kind of place. If you are expecting cucumber water and white walls you should perhaps look elsewhere. If what you are looking for is a great massage with a friendly massage therapist at a very reasonable rate, look no further than Greenleaf!
I’ve used multiple therapists here and have had great massages each time. I always do a 60 minute deep tissue massage, but they also do hot stone massage, prenatal, reiki, shiatsu and Thai massages. You can even get a couples massage.
They offer Saturday and Sunday hours (which is downright unheard of!) and are open until 8 pm Monday — Friday. And don’t forget to check in on Unilocal for $ 5 off your massage!

Just left a 60 minute massage from David and all I can say was it was amazing. Greenleaf Bodyworks provided me a gift certificate to make up for a massage a couple weeks ago and boy was it worth it. David was absolutely amazing and I strongly recommend him. If you are in the Ferndale Michigan area and need a massage this is definitely the place to go.

Awesome massage from LaTia who is a very skilled massage therapist. Prices are reasonable and better if you buy a 6 pack. Easy parking in front. I love the online booking system.

I have previously been to this location for a massage, and it brought me back for another years later. I could not remember the girls name that worked on me before, and when I called and asked for a 2 hour deep tissue massage they referred me to Tyra.
Tyra was very friendly when we met, and we talked for a minute about any target areas that I was concerned about. I asked to to just do her thing as she is the professional and I will enjoy. Well Tyra did not disappoint. I got off the table after two hours and felt like a wet spaghetti noodle. I can’t say enough about how good it was. She even thanked me for letting her work on me. Really? Tyra I should be thanking you. You made my day today. Thanks so much. See you soon with the package I bought. Keep up the great customer service over there Green Leaf!

I came here for a Unilocal event and I am so glad I have some experience practicing vinyasa yoga because the class was definitely not for beginners. Our instructor was very calm and helpful — showing us here and there some of the poses that were a bit more confusing to explain with words. The room is pretty small so it gets cozy and hot real quick. I appreciated that there were scented sprays to clean the mats and there is plenty of equipment to borrow. The class was pretty fast-​paced — repetition of poses rather quickly and an all-​over work out from head to toe. Parking is a bit scarce in the area — there is a public lot you need to pay for, but if you go one block north, there is a ton of residential street parking! Thanks for a great experience.

I love this place. I’ve had different therapists, but Rachel absolutely killed it today. I told her what I wanted (just upper back and feet) and she honored that, very well. I felt like she honestly listened to what my body needed and responded to how my muscles were reacting to her bodywork. I was talkative and she could handle conversation without breaking concentration.
They do have a punchcard discount and offer $ 20 for referrals. A dollar a minute is the standard massage rate, but GLWB could get away with charging more. They don’t, and that’s another reason I love them. Can’t recommend GLWB highly enough!

WONDERFUL! I was surprised that some of the reviews said this wasn’t a normal massage for them. The room was dark and cute and a typical massage room for me but I guess everyone has different experiences!
Tyra worked on me and when I say worked, she worked! For me to really enjoy my deep tissue massages, I need firm pressure and Tyra did just that. She also gave me helpful tips at the end of the session.
I got a Groupon for a 60 min massage here and I couldn’t be more satisfied. The people were all really nice too. I will be back for sure!

If you are looking for a massage that promotes body wellness and healing, you have found your place.
If you are looking for a massage that plays Yanni in the background with vanilla candles, keep looking.
Gina is the best! You will feel better after a massage at Greenleaf! Your body will thank you.

I have continued to go to Greenleaf and when Breanna is available, I book her. I have had the pleasure of seeing one or two other massage therapists there and those trips were great as well! Greenleaf has also expanded and included yoga classes and kids movement classes.

I had an amazing experience here.
I was concern about parking since the location is in Ferndale. However, there is a parking lot right in front of their office. & for 1 hour and 15 minutes it was like 75 cents. Not bad at all. The staff was friendly. I bought a Groupon for a 60 min deep tissue massage. Rachel was my masseuse. The music was relaxing and the massage table is heated. I felt like I died and went to heaven. I was so relaxed the entire day after my massage. Rachel definitely helped me get rid of all of the knots in my back. I have scoliosis, so these massages are necessary for my survival. She did an amazing job!

Credit where credit is due.
After a very bad experience during a very bad week a few months ago, I thought I wouldn’t come back. However, they did give me a gift certificate for what happened and today I decided to give Greenleaf another try.
I had a fantastic massage with Rachel. She is STRONG — which for me is a good thing because I like deep pressure. And no scheduling snafus this time!
Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is that the reservation system is still behind the times — it’d be nice to be able to see which therapists are available on which days. However, I did hear that they’re going to be moving to a web-​based reservation system — very excited to hear that!
tl;dr version: I gave it another shot and it was good. I am again a Greenleaf client.

I purchased a groupon for this place and I should have noted the emphasis on body «work».
This was not a typical massage by any means but rather a body work exercise complemented by massage therapy. The evening of my massage I was a bit unhappy as I wanted a more simple rub down with good, firm pressure and some aromatherapy lotion perhaps with some zen music playing. However, over the next few days the benefit of my experience became evident and I definitely felt less tension in my physical body.
When I am in need of a a true body work massage for tension and pain, this will be my destination. However, when I want a cutesy rub down for mental relief, I will probably go elsewhere because this is a place of physical transformation not of romanticized frilly massages.

I have had 2 massages there and both by Christina. She was friendly and was a good massage both times. Easy to make an appointment that fit my schedule.

I would not recommend this place
The staff is not friendly. I don’t feel it’s welcoming when i walked in to this place. When i booked my appointment, it did not ask me if i want a female or a male masseuse. when I realize it was a male masseuse, it was too late to change it. He was playing music that’s not relaxing at all. The massage was not so great either, He was applying pressure thought his palm rather than using his hands to hit specific pressure points. Overall, the massage was not pleasant.
