Don’t go with a large group unless you have lots of time and don’t mind sitting with 10 people at a 6 top! Staff seemed annoyed we objected to sitting with plates in our laps.

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like at dinner this evening. The crab dip blew our minds and my fish tacos were top notch. The whole family was super pleased with our experience! But seriously, the crab dip…

Went there for Fathers Day brunch, had the all you can drink mimosas. And ordered off the brunch menu had the shrimp and grits and fried shrimp. We got sat almost immediately and the place was packed, The staff was friendly and welcoming. I suggest the original broiled oysters they were amazing.

We ate lunch here today. My husband had the tuna BLT and it was 5-star. I had the fried grouper and it was 3-star. I’ve had a lot of grouper, and it has never been so tasteless and mushy. Also, I ordered lemonade, but got a glass of lemonade-flavored water. The waitress was very cheerful, and she brought me a few lemon slices and a packet of sweetener, which made the lemonade acceptable, though still very weak. Sweet potato fries were very good. I would come here again, but I would definitely order something else.

Decided on a whim to go to Fernandina today and stopped in on this restaurant for the first time. Sat upstairs where we could have a view of the water. Ordered a dozen oysters to start with. They were very well presented and fresh. Next we had a 1 lb. of boiled shrimp. Excellent! Really good but get ready to use your peeling skills! Comes with horseradish and crackers. Bud Light was their special today at $ 3.00 a glass.

Love this place! Get started upstairs overlooking the waterfront. Bar area seating is plentiful up there. Staff and bartenders are attentive and fun. The menu has the usual beach fare(fried everything, burgers) as well as oysters prepared any way you like. Try the fish tacos, or grouper sandwich. Big tvs allow you to watch the game after the sun goes down, and they are open on Sunday nights. Patrons are a blend of locals and vacationers, little bit of everything. Their FB page updates daily with special menu items and deals, and entertainment alerts. Prices are good and the beer is cold!

Good service, sat at the bar upstairs. Nice beachy feel open air and pleasant with breeze. Inland waterway viewable from up and downstairs patio. So good casual eating & drinking place to relax and pleasant beach like atmosphere. Had a salad with Italian dressing, good sized and tasty. Also had a burger, average burger nothing special ¼ ish size, really good an unique fries tho.

Came here after a day at the beach for a snack and a few drinks. We sat at the bar upstairs which had a view of the marina, great view and nice breeze! Ordered the Ultimate Margarita which had Don Julio Blanco, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and agave nectar and was delicious. Husband ordered a Miller Lite and it was ice cold and came in a coozie. We split the Mahi Mahi tacos that came with a side of sweet potato fries. Fries were delicious and crispy, and the tacos were loaded and very fresh. This place is excellent and service was top notch.

Good blackened grouper sandwich(catch of the day) with fried plantains(a pleasant surprise for a side-dish option) and a Caesar salad. Nothing fancy or truly noteworthy, but they have decent food and a relaxed atmosphere. Service was good. Good local sports bar with more of a sea food focus.)

This is a fun spot in Fernandina downtown by the Marina. It’s a two story building with nice views of the marina. And the food is good too. The oyster Rockafeller was amazing! I also had the shrimp tacos with locally sourced shrimp — very fresh. Russell had a burger which he thought was spiced perfectly and cooked well-done exactly as he requested. He had the sweet potato fries and liked those too. Locals told us that if you sit at the bar and yell«train shot» when a train goes by you’ll get the bartenders choice of shot on the house. There are railroad tracks right outside the bar.

So the atmosphere is just so cool. It’s super laid back, the gal with the acoustic playing the best classic rock set list, and the freight train rolling by the patio in slow-mo blocking the view of the sunset over the inlet near the Georgia border. But that’s not all… How about Patty-sized fresh raw oysters? So good and affordable. Bring on the Ahi-tuna nachos(a full order feeds four). My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and I made fun of her, but it was incredible actually as were the sweet potato fries they came with. The chowder was unique with some corn added with the seafood, but not my favorite. The food is really good and affordable. The mellow Jimmy Buffet vibe is so inviting. Solid pick for Amelia Island.

I got the burger and added bacon and carmelized onions with sweet potato fries and OMG it was delicious! We sat upstairs at the bar and the service was amazing, the view was wonderful, and the drinks were on point, as well. I can’t say enough good things!

Great little place along the waterfront. It was a beautiful day and we rode over on our Harleys to enjoy the ride and downtown Fernandina area. We had a recommendation to try this place and were delighted when all was said and done. Nestled along the water along Front street we checked in with the server about sitting upstairs for a view. We were in luck! Our lovely server Candi promptly greeted us and took drink orders. She pleasantly explained to us about some work being done on the nearby railroad tracks and to be patient with the noise and dust. It was a beautiful day, the setting overlooking the water so nothing was going to ruin our day! Service was prompt and our drinks we brought out quickly. We’re in a fishing village so we had to try local seafood. Oysters, shrimp, fresh fish, sandwiches, salads and burgers there’s something for everyone. We tried the following: oyster po-boy for me, shrimp & corn chowder and a ceasar salad for my buddy. Blackened fish tacos for the girls. The food was brought out quickly and served hot. My oyster po-boy was filled with plenty of tasty fried oysters, spicy slaw and Pelican sauce. Good to the last bite! Served with potato wedges that I wasn’t crazy about but they were ok. The girls loved their blackened Mahi tacos which came with spicy slaw. My buddy devoured his Caesar salad, literally down to the last bite of lettuce and raved about his soup. All and all we were totally happy with the restaurant, food and service. Downstairs has a spacious dining room and looong bar serving tons of craft beers and specialty cocktails. Our local Ft Lauderdale favorite Funky Buddah is topping the list of those beers, cool! Definitely recommend and will definitely repeat!

Excellent service and food portions. Order and drinks came quite quick despite it being pretty slammed on a Friday night. Dishes are around $ 10-$ 15 per plate. My party enjoyed their orders as well as the selection of beers. I tried the broiled oysters which the menu claims to be so good you’ll talks about them for years. I can say they were very nice and a complete 360° from the first time I tried oysters years back, which tasted like sand. The oysters at the Salty Pelican were absolutely delicious and filled me up pretty good. Didn’t really get to taste the oysters themselves due to them being smothered by sauce and cheese, but boy did they taste great.

Stopped in with my wife for lunch today on the way down to Amelia Island after reading some of the positive reviews in Unilocal. We ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Nachos, shrimp tacos, and the avocado and tuna tempura app. We thoroughly enjoyed the nachos — a very generous amount of tuna — if you order the full size order, make sure you have two or three people to help you with them! The shrimp tacos were very good as well. As far as the avocado and tuna tempura, we imagined the appetizer to be thinly sliced pieces of avocado and ahi tuna, rolled, and seared but it actually came out separate pieces of avocado fried as well as chunks of tuna fried. In all, we enjoyed our meal here and would come back without hesitation.

We were there yesterday to watch some NFL games, specifically the Bucs. What I like is that they label all the TVs with each game so you know where you want to sit. Also, the staff was knowledgeable about football. I appreciate that on game day. Great set up. Lots of TVs at the bar and around the room. Also, upstairs bar has a few, but downstairs is where to watch games. The food was very yummy. We ate typical game day bar food but the menu has plenty more to offer. The Short Rib Loaded Fries were awesome. Baked to perfection. Just what you want while watching football. Fries, Melted Cheese, Jalapeños, Beef, and more Cheese. Really good app. Also tried the chili. Was good. Drank a bunch of beers. I would definitely come back to this place. The Seafood options are strong with an emphasis on Oysters. Next trip I’ll be all about them. Last but not least, a very good Bloody Mary. I had the house mix which I think had some clam juice in it. But the best part was the Beef Stick Straw. It was my first. Thank you Salty Pelican. See you next visit.

Start by saying that this came highly recommended and failed on several fronts. We arrived around 5:30pm for dinner and it was very busy. We were told it would be a 15 – 20 minute wait and after about 35, we asked when we would be seated, especially since we saw other who had come after us being seated. They told us «our system says we seated you». We said«well it’s wrong», and they basically looked at us like we were either nuts or lying. Meanwhile they had 4 girls just standing around doing nothing and still couldn’t get it right. It still took them another 6 – 8 minutes to seat us, meanwhile seating a large party of 8 who came in after us, even after we told them of the issue. The food was marginal. The one bright shiny moment was when the waitress asked if I didn’t like the ahi nachos and took them back and off our bill. She made up for part of the snafu, the manager should have comp’d an appetizer for the mix-up. Waitress did a great job. Would not go back based on this experience and much more interesting food choices in town.

Was looking for a seafood restaurant on our recent trip to Fernandina Beach and this popped up on Unilocal. So glad we decided to give it a try. We asked to be seated outside as it was a beautiful day with a great view. We started with drinks, Blood Orange Cosmo for me and Margarita for hubby. Let me tell you, the Cosmo has to be my new favorite drink. Tart and sweet and oh so tasty. Margarita was good hubby said but he also preferred my Cosmo. Our appetizer of pork shank was surprising in that we expected one large piece of meat, but instead it was small pieces and served topped with BBQ sauce. It was surprisingly tender and moist. Everyone enjoyed it quite a bit. I had the Mahi fish tacos with a side of sweet potato fries. The fish was blackened and very good. The cabbage slaw served within the taco was crunchy and helped temper the spiciness of the sauce. Fries were very good Hubby had the shrimp and grits, which you can only get on Sunday. It was amazing. Served with cheese grits and andouille sausage it was so flavorful. Shrimp were huge and plentiful. The Texas Toast were hot, fresh and crispy. Just perfect for soaking up the gravy in the dish Youngest had the corn and shrimp chowder. It must have been good as she refused to share! Ended the meal with the Bailey’s cheesecake and the Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie. This was the reason we didn’t give five stars. The desserts were a disappointment. The cheesecake was dry and had an «off» taste. Not sure if it was the caramel sauce or? Reese’s pie tasted like it came out of a box. We will be returning the next time we are in the area. Most likely on a Sunday so I can get those shrimp and grits myself.
