Some Other Place Bar & Grill

Really good food and great service. I don’t mind the smoking that occurs there because it is a bar and to me a bar is supposed to be relaxing which this place definitely is and the Texas Holdem’ game held on Sundays is fun also.

Food = OK (not very warm)
Service = Kind a slow
Smoking = Unfortunately yes; but it is a bar more than a grill (but I did go on a Sunday morning) Can’t help lack of City/​County ordinances — behind the times (Wentzville still allows it)
Plus = Bloody Mary’s are made w/​o a mix… hey!
It’s just your old whole in the wall place with decent drinks and decent food at decent prices. Nuff said ;-)

Excellent service and Great Live Music !!!

From my house, this is the closest place to eat. I wish I could give it 5 stars but there are several reasons holding me back.
The service is spotty at best. The breakfast is consistently good but the dinner items can be terrible. Skip the greasy tacos.
A big negative is that smoking is still allowed throughout the restaurant. Can’t people go long enough to eat a meal without smoking?

The burger I had was very good. Saw several other things on the menu I’d really like to try. But I’m not sure I would be able to go back. I visited during lunch time. I’d say there were 15 – 20 people in there. The cigarette smell was overwhelming. It was a beautiful day out. Open some windows or do something to get some fresh air in there. I really would like to go back.

We usually find ourselves here for Sunday breakfast. The service is always great, the waitresses help with each other’s tables so you never wait too long for anything. The food is always good except for the country fried steak, it was a deep fried hamburger with no breading. Other than that everything else we’ve eaten is great. I am not a smoker but I have not been bothered by smoke there. Its great place for inexpensive good food.

I do not understand why this bar and grill is still allowed to be smoked in What I have tried of their food was great, but the smoking I thought was banned. Don’t they have to follow county ordinances?

I wasn’t too crazy about the previous location off of Lemay Ferry Rd. I thought it was too small, too bleak, and too smokey. The new location in Fenton is so much better. It is much bigger, better decorated, and has better vents, which helps eliminate the second hand smoke while still allowing people to smoke. The menu may seem basic to someone coming in for the first time, but the food is really good. The burgers and breakfast food is super good.
About the only drawback is that the wait staff tends to outright ignore people. On two different visits, I sat at a table and watched one waitress and the bartender (who was also waiting on tables) walk by me for an hour each time. I had no drink, no menu, nothing. I was just sitting there. Both times I finally had to flag down the waitress that looked annoyed that I was looking for service. Also, food is outright cut off at 9pm, which is pretty early. Most places offer a limited version of a menu for late night, but this place flat you cuts off all food at 9pm with no warning or indication of kitchen hours.

What a great bar. We are really glad Some Other Place Bar & Grill moved to Fenton at 141 in front of the old Springdale pool. We needed a good breakfast place and this fits the bill. We have been several times and expect to become regulars. They serve breakfast anytime the kitchen is open. So you don’t have to be an early riser! Breakfast is simple and great! The cook deserves high praise. I have attached pictures from our last few visit. I had originally posted these on their old Unilocal site. We have had sausage/​bacon omelets, ham and cheese omelet, eggs over easy, pancakes, french toast, hashbrowns and a full order of biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage. Everything was 5 star prep and taste. The service is very good. All of the staff are friendly. You couldn’t ask for more. Wait — you can play Keno, have a drink or a beer, play the juke box. Yes, this is also a great little bar. Lots of motorcycle riders, lots of nice folks. Smoking is allowed inside; but ventilation is good and it does not bother the non-​smokers, like us. This place is worth a visit any time! Welcome to the neighborhood — we’ll be back!
