The owners were very nice and attentive. I loved how they give you pumpkin porridge and barley rice but the food itself was t anything amazing. I’m glad I got to come and try it out… I ordered the spicy seafood soo jae bi and hubby ordered the traditional kalgooksoo.

The food seems so authentic, makes me feel like I’m in the countryside of Korea(even though I’ve never been there)

I’ve been here many times with my family and friends and only had one weird experience. This restaurant is family owned and it’s nice to see how an entire family has a goal to make sure your experience is worthwhile. The matriarch is very welcoming and she takes her time to explain the menu. Her daughter is very accomodating. I have this demanding friend who wants the world when she dines out. Through it all, the family remained sweet and provided her Foodwise, this place is good. The pork dumplings are huge and savory. The noodles tastes freshly made and the broth tastes like home made. My family loves the bento box with the broiled mackerel. It has various side dishes in it and it comes with rice and bean paste soup. As for any Korean restaurants, heat level can be extreme so keep an eye out for anything red. The kimchi in jars are no exception. Pricewise, it’s reasonable. I think each meal can serve up to two people; the soups– maybe even more.

Vegetarians are welcome here!!! Perilla noodle soup can be made vegetarian but you will have to ask for it vegetarian and you will have to add salt for taste because they want you to calibrate it to your palate. Mung bean pancake was delicious. And they can give you kimchi made without fish paste, but you should confirm. I was impressed with the first appetizer. Barley rice with pumpkin porridge. Barley rice tastes best with kimchi seasoned with sesame oil and a little red pepper sauce(provided on the table). Pumpkin porridge was definitely perfectly creamy and toasty… If that is a thing. Koreans dig this in the winter. Trust me. Really neat traditional Korean restaurant. I highly recommend! This coming from a Korean. American.

My boyfriend & I came here for a late night dinner. Initially, I wasn’t crazy about this place because I am used to cooking my own meal at Korean restaurants. My boyfriend ordered the dumpling soup and I got the barley rice bibimbap. as appetizers, we each had a serving of pumpkin soup and barley rice to go with the complimentary kimchi. The server gave us both cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi and I found both of them to be some of the best kimchi I have ever tasted! My boyfriend had dumpling soup was warm and very appropriate for Washington’s rainy weather. my bibimbap was very unique to me because it did not have any seaweed like it normally would. or rather I am just used to having bibimbap with some seaweed. My dish also came with bean soup which was a little bit spicy and salty for my taste but still delicious. One of the main things why I love Korean dishes is because of the many side dishes that are accompanied. Although we ordered are two main dishes as well as a potato Korean pancake, there was plenty of food to go around for both of us and we found ourselves sitting back full. the only thing I did not like was the hot tea because it just tasted like hot water instead of anything else. Aside from that the venue is fairly small and we got there about an hour until they closed. There was one other family aside from us, but the venue looks like they are doing well. I plan to come back perhaps during the day and see what else they have.

Came here with my girlfriend for dinner after hearing all of the praises about this restaurant. The restaurant is located on the main road, so it was easy to get to. There was ample parking for anyone who wants to eat there. The restaurant is small but has enough seating to fit anyone’s needs. I was really impressed with the service here, because the work was done for us, and the people were so friendly and accommodating. The food was top notch, and I would highly recommend getting the dumpling soup. Each meal is accompanied with an assortment of side dishes, which will feed even the hungriest people. I love their kimchi, and their potato pancakes are really good too. I was definitely not disappointed, and highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean food. I definitely plan on coming back to this joint, thank you so much!

This place was PERFECT on a super cold winter night! The spicy sea food noodle soup definitely hit the spot! Not to mention it comes with shredded daikon and cabbage kimchi, little barley rice, and a side of sweet pumpkin porridge! Also Korean restaurants often dont have the best service but I gotta say this is the nicest service I ever got out of a Korean restaurant! It was good to be back home for a bit to this(: WOOHOO!

Yes, yes, yes to a place that sells soy milk noodle soup(kongguksu) during the summer! Ever since I travelled to Korea, I have been looking for a place that sells kongguksu in the summer. It has been a hard search, but my dad finally found this place. So grateful that I was able to come here in the middle of September and try their soy milk noodle soup despite summer coming to an end. The place isn’t huge, but it seats a fair amount of people. Each meal starts with pumpkin porridge which is delicious! It’s not overly sweet but you can taste the sweetness from the pumpkin and the honey. It really feels comforting as if I were back at home. Since this Korean place is a noodle place, you don’t get your normal banchan sides. You will get the two kinds of cabbage that is eaten typically with noodles. One is kimchi(slightly spicy), and the other is a bit more acidic and refreshing. I of course got the soy milk noodle soup and my dad got the knife cut noodles(kal-guksu). I can’t even express how much I loved the kongguksi here. It really took me back to Korea. They give you a little bowl of salt if you need a little more. The soy milk soup is so ice-cold refreshing. The flavor profile reminds me of soy milk and peanuts. Each sip feels so hearty and healthy. I also appreciate the texture of the noodles. They are spot on al dente. I tried some of my dad’s kal-guksu and fell in love with them as well. This was the best kal-guksu that I have tried. The broth was warm, spicy and so comforting. The noodles were perfectly made and the texture was to die for. I almost gave up my soy milk noodles for more bites of his. They give you a lot of noodles. The portion is big and I could not finish my soy milk noodles even though I wanted to take a million bites. The place is family run and they are very sweet. Although we weren’t checked up on too often, they still made sure we were enjoying our meal. Price is fair/average for the food. For me, it is worth every dollar for those noodles. If only it wasn’t a summer seasonal item! I’ll have to wait until next year to have some more from here…

We came here to try something new. I had no idea there were businesses tucked back here! The menu is a bit different than what I’m used to. Our nice waitress was patient and ran us through Youngwol 101. We ordered the Korean bento box and dumpling noodle soup. Dinner came with pumpkin porridge and two types of kimchi you dish up yourself. Everything was fine but I kind of miss having my favorites — soondubu, bibimbap dolsot and ban chan.

Simple and delicious food with reasonable prices. I came her to try with two of my friends due to the reviews. The banchan consists of two types of kimchi and they give two complementary appetizers(pumpkin soup and barley). The kimchi came in two jars with two plates and tongs to take the amount you want. Let me say, I killed the kimchi! It was beyond delicious. My favourite kimchi in Federal Way so far. Our order: Me: Sujebi(Korean Traditional Soup) Friend A: Manduguk(Dumpling soup) Friend B: Kongguksu(Soymilk noodle soup) We also shared potato pancakes as an appetizer. The sujebi was delicious and I finished the whole thing because I was starving. Both of my friends liked their choices but Friend B hoped that the Kongguksu broth was colder. The potato pancakes tasted good but definitely greasy. I’m undecided whether I’ll order that again. Friend A had some leftovers and one of the daughters(who was our server) told my friend that she wasn’t allowed to take any kimchi home because her mother doesn’t make enough(which was understandable).

One of the few places that I was so excited about the whole time as I was eating. Just thinking about coming back here and showing my friends a new bomb place! The food was um-amazing! My friends and I wanted to try everything on the menu but we finally ended getting 4 dishes. 3 appetizers and 1 entrée. For 3 girls I thought I would be good amount but what we didn’t realize was that it could probably feed 5 people. And trust me when I say my girls and I can eat! Pork Feet — It was more like a whole pork leg cut up in thin slices with lettuce to wrap around and radish. We were so shocked when we saw it. We didn’t realize it was going to be that big! It was definitely my favorite dish there! So good but its definitely not an appetizer. It should be consider an entrée at least. An entrée would still be considered too small for what it was. There was so much. They should have a warning sign saying it can feed around 5 people for that dish! King Dumplings — Huge dumplings that came with 5 on the dish. The outer skin layer was just perfect. Not too thick. It was delicious. Seafood Pancake — Name says it all. Really good and it was a size of a small pizza? Had squid and green onions and pan fried into a crispy pancake! Very crispy and good! Perilla Seed Noodles — Not sure if we didn’t like this dish cause it was too traditional and we didn’t know how to eat it or just not familiar with it but it was kind of a plain noodle dish with no meat or veggies. Just noodle and the sauce. Something I wouldn’t order again. We only ordered it because we asked our server what everyone else likes to order and she recommended this. Probably cause everyone that goes here is Korean and know what they were eating. We were the only one there not Korean! Overall, this place is amazing. I would definitely come here again and I want to bring my Korean friends and definitely my boyfriend. He would love the pork feet there! I will recommend it everyone and just give them a warning, portions are pretty big especially the pig feet so be careful in ordering too much! Can’t wait to come here again. Oh, and the service was great! Better than I expected!

Let me just start by saying I am still thinking of the food here! We came in with 3 girls for dinner on a Wednesday evening based off Unilocal reviews, and we were not disappointed! When we walked in, there were about 4 other tables already seated. We were seated promptly, and service was nothing but quick and exceptional! Whenever I go Korean, it’s always the same old thing, Korean BBQ or some kind of meat. Here, none of us were really familiar with the menu, so we asked tons of questions, from what’s that(pointing at pictures), to what is that sauce for, how do we eat this? The waitress was very helpful, took the time to explain everything as she brought it out, and didn’t seem bothered by our questions! There were soooo many items we wanted to try and tried to order the pork belly with vegetables and the pig feet appetizer. She advised us that may be too much food, which we appreciated! Most restaurants would just let you order to rack up your bill! Each person included pumpkin porridge which I’d never had, and was pretty good. Very light flavor, a little slimy, but I would eat again. There was also 2 different types of kimchee, one traditional and the other looked like spinach, but was not. Some of leafy vegetable. The traditional kimchee was very spicy, but flavorful! We ended up going with: Seafood pancake — pretty good size! Maybe 10″ filled with green onions and squid. Edges were a very nice crunch to it and stayed crunchy even after we took it home. Great flavor, one of the better ones I’ve had! Pig feet appetizer — It’s basically a stewed pork leg section that’s been sliced thing and you eat with lettuce. This was AMAZING! Doesn’t look like much, but the meat is so soft, the skin does not feel heavy or fatty at all, and it has a nice light flavor or the broth it was boiled in. Served off the bone, includes the bone which she explained people will gnaw on and even the toes! Came with a side of lettuce and different sauces King dumplings — comes with 5 in a order, but they are huge! About the size of your palm! Homemade filled with zucchini & vegetable. So delicious, you don’t even miss the meat! Perilla seed noodles — Maybe this is a more traditional dish, because we asked for the most popular dish and she recommended this, but we weren’t really a fan. It has a very light, but unique flavor. Not bad, but maybe earthy? The texture of the noodles itself were very good, not soggy at all. We would probably not order this one again. Our bill came to about $ 75 for everything, which considering the amount of food we had(serving sizes were very generous), was pretty decent!

My family and I went to Youngwol Noodle on a weekday for lunch. It seems like a popular dish there is the samgyetang, which is the boiled cornish game hen with ginseng, but we were there for the kalgooksoo, handmade knife-cut noodles. Only my husband enjoyed the complimentary pumpkin porridge, but I really loved the chewy whole barley rice — it paired excellently with the two different types of kimchee they served. We got a nice sampling of their knife-cut noodles — Spicy Seafood Soup with noodles, Clam Soup with noodles, Regular soup with noodles, Kimchee Soup with soo-jeh-bee, which are kind of like the dumplings from chicken and dumplings(sorry, really don’t know how to describe them better). They call soo-jeh-bee«flour flakes» on the menu. The flavor of the broths were good, and the soups are piping hot, but the noodles get mushy as you eat them. So, I enjoyed the chewy consistency for the first few minutes of eating. However, I think getting the soo-jeh-bee is the way to go — they were chewy and hearty and don’t get mushy at all. We also ordered the mandoo, but it was rather disappointing. Our kids love mandoo but refused to touch them. Perhaps they were too large in size? In any case, staff was very friendly, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return for their soo-jeh-bee.

Excellent kalguksu noodles. The best in seattle and the closest you can get to the famous myungdong kalguksu in Seoul. I recommend calling for hours and to check if they are open before coming. They occasionally close irregularly and the hours posted on Unilocal are incorrect. You must eat here!!!

We got the kimchi noodle soup and two, yes two, traditional noodle soups(it was so good we had seconds). The kimchi soup looked like molten lava in a bowl, but it was surprisingly delicious. A little fire at first, but very flavorful afterwards. The other soup had mushroom, potato and squash in it. The broth was a little less flavorful than the kimchi soup, but still excellent. I was surprised how good the mushrooms tasted. They brought out pumpkin soup with barley to start the meal. It paired well with the radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi they brought out too! Will certainly be coming back in the future to try other soups. The noodles were fantastic as well. Chewy, but not like rubber bands in your mouth. Yum!

Another amazing restaurant in federal way, can you move them to Seattle please? This place is known for their kal gook sul which is handmade noodle soup. The broth is a bit thicker than other soups and its great. They first start with pumpkin porridge which is a great start and a small amount of barley rice which you mix with sesame oil and a little peppered soy sauce. It’s like an appetizer. They also bring out two medium clay pots filled with two different types of kimchi which you can use tongs to self serve yourself which I think is awesome. Their kimchi is good. They have lettuce and radish kimchi. Then come your noodles and they have different types. My mom got the seafood and I got chicken(I was sick so I thought it was a good choice).

Ordered the mandu guk su. Came with pumpkin soup and barley rice along with kimchi for banchan. Very delicious. Very healthy style restaurant. Not overly salty. Salt available on the table if you need it. Service is excellent too. Nice lady served us. I think she’s the owner.

Moving away from LA meant leaving a favorite behind, Western Doma Noodle in K-town. But I happily stumbled upon this gem in a nondescript strip mall. Very nice family running this noodle shop. Had the hoodle soup with dumplings, and it was amazing… you can taste the freshness and home-cooked aspect in the bowl. Of course, the meal started with the pumpkin soup«amuse-bouche,» rice, and a couple types of kim chi in those clay pots. I definitely felt like I was sitting in someone’s kitchen in Korea.

I have been to a lot of Korean restaurants, and this small, cozy place is probably one of my favorites. We came early lunch time and we were the only customers, so we had the full attention of the owner. She was very nice and polite(I hope the servers and managers in Chinese restaurants all over the US will be like her too. I am Chinese myself, but I really hate the service in Chinese restaurants haha). Anyway, this place do not serve numerous banchan. They give you 2 big pots of kimchi(2 different kinds), barley rice, and pumpkin soup, which was delicious and refreshing on a hot day. I like the subtle sweetness in the soup and I did not mind the thick consistency of the soup, more like porridge. My girlfriend did not like it though, but she loved the barley rice. She loved it so much we ended up getting barley after. My girlfriend had the traditional Korean soup but the noodles were cut into flakes. My gf, who is very hard to please with food, liked it, so that is a big plus. I rarely find a place that she is willing to go back again, and this is one of those. I had the Perilla noodle soup. The owner said it was healthy and good, so I gave it a shot. Apparently perilla seeds are supposed to have good health benefits — just google. The soup was thick, so if you don’t like a viscous consistency, do not order this. I actually liked it a lot. It has an anise-like flavor, but not too strong. The serving was really big and I had a lot of leftover because I was already half full from the kimchi and pumpkin soup. Overall, a hidden gem in that complex. I usually go to the other Korean noodle house just behind this, but now I have another option.
