Looks like the bad reviews were all dated, hence the only 3 star rating. I came here for a dinner with parents and their friends, service was good, food was better. A solid 5 star in my opinion. They gave you A LOT of panchan, and refilled if you finish it. For meat, we got the thin sliced beef, rib eye, and marinated beef. My favorite is the marinated beef, the marble on meat was visible and beautiful when raw, and after you properly cook them, it was tender and juicy and simply amazing. We also had kimchi jigae after grilled meat, it was one of the best kimchi jigae I’ve had, both in FW and NYC. I will definitely be back when we are home for the holidays again.

We get stellar service here and their meat is good quality. I could finish this review just based on the condition of the beef. I have yet to receive fat on their beef short ribs, worth your money because they serve it and it is red, not brown like other kbbq places. They were busy tonight, but you make do and sit for awhile. It’s Korean BBq, don’t expect to be done with your meal in under half an hour! Seriously? Banchan/side dishes were generous today, about 8 different types. I like that they are different each time I visit. Had my favorite summer specialty cold Korean noodles. Delicious broth, not too sweet and had an egg with the pear and cucumber in it. We split this and about 3 pounds of beef and it was very filling. Hot barley Tea is complimentary, enjoy!

Horrible service. In the beginning, it wasn’t so bad. We were quickly greeted and then seated for 3 people. We quickly ordered soju, and dinner plates with one of the servers. We ordered a bibimbap, grilled mackerel, seafood tofu soup, and pork bulgogi. Then another table of three was sat directly next to us about 5 minutes after us. They then ordered with one of the servers. For some reason we were somehow less of an importance than the table mentioned earlier. They were served soju first, and then they received their ban chan 5 minutes before us! We sat there awkwardly waiting for ours. We still didn’t get the ban chan yet and we finally got our soju, then we were served beef bulgogi from a different server that didn’t take our order. Now remember earlier, we had order PORK bulgogi not beef. It was an honest mistake and we weren’t that mad about it. We spoke with the server that gave this to us, and she immediately accused us of being wrong and brought out our check to prove it. She didn’t even conversed with the other server about the order before accusing us of not knowing our order. Finally she spoke with the other person, and we have yet to receive a apology! Then we recieved our ban chan. There’s a lot of side dishes but we were still steaming from before, so we didn’t get to enjoy it as much. We received our food but we must mention that the beef bulgogi was served way way after we were almost finished with the other food. The whole time they barely visited us to check on us. We couldn’t help but noticed that the other table sometimes was served by not one but TWO servers at a time. We just couldn’t deal with it any longer, so we quickly ate then paid and left. The food was nothing good to rave about but not bad, it was just adequate. The service was drop dead horrible, I just couldn’t believe it. I am a waitress for living and I always judge other people’s service. Most of the time, I am satisfied and happy. But this is the absolute worst. NOTE: We are Chinese and we all served other people for living in a restaurant. We all abhorred this service. We couldn’t help but noticed that the other table are Korean and the servers were very friendly with them compared with us. I don’t want to assume the worst from people though.

This my favorite Korean restaurant. There is one side of the restaurant for bbq’ing and another for cooked to order menu items. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. My favorite dish is their Japchae. I highly recommend this restaurant for Korean food lovers.

So bad and rude service. Don’t go this Korean restaurant. I ordered several dishes with my friend, but it took 40minutes. And they did not say sorry. Side dishes smells bad it smells a dirty towel. Food is so bad i have eaten Korean food ever. Bad services, bad food, dirty restaurant.

I’ve been coming here since before I could talk and the owner is such a sweet lady. While the price isn’t exactly cheap, Mirak always leaves me feeling full. With every BBQ order you receive a salad, rice, muguk(savory radish soup, my brother’s favorite), several veggie side-dishes, two types of dipping sauce(spicy bean paste and oil w/salt and pepper), and they even cook your meat at the table. If you’re not in the mood for BBQ, I recommend their casserole section which will keep anyone warm on a cold winter’s day. Manduguk for those who like thick dumplings, Ttukguk for those who are more traditional, or try their ttukmanduguk option for both. Their kimchi jjigae is what keeps me there in the winter, and their seasonal mul naengmyun brings me back in the summer. A lot of people find that the staff here doesn’t speak a lot of English, therefore I encourage everyone to make sure you articulate your order properly.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants of all time. It’s been years since I’ve been back since I really don’t ever hangout in Fed Way anymore, but I’ve heard from friends that they’re still around and just as great as ever. They are one of the better options for everything from KBBQ to a bowl of cold naengmyun on a hot Summer day. Like some of the more authentic places, you’ll get better service if you go with someone who speaks Korean. It’s not right, but it’s the way it is. Deal with it.

They raised the price, which was the best part of this restaurant. If you go during weekdays they are still cheap, so take advantage of the lunch special prices. My mom and I love some of the side dishes, like the potato salad, which is rare to find in Korean restaurant, but cool since you gotta get some to cool off after eating all the hot stuff. The food is pretty good. I liked their kalbi, which now has increased price and decreased portion, and it’s like a thin sliced kalbi, which is not really connected to the bone… idk it was good, but now it won’t make you full unless you get refill on the sidedishes more than 2 times. Which is supposed to be the maximum.

We saw the chunk of bulgolgi on the kitchen floor when we walked in. It came to our table in frozen chunks. Hoping we don’t get sick. And as usual the service was terrible. Even with the poor service it used to be our favorite… but we won’t go back… bummer.

We’ve been to Mirak’s many times and thoroughly enjoy their foods. We usually go during lunch as the prices are a bit better, but we’ve also gone for dinner too. I usually get the Grilled Saba(Mackerel) and my wife gets the Bulgogi. Their Kim Chee is to die for! Better than the Kim Chees at H Mart. Stopped in yesterday to buy a container of Kim Chee to bring home for dinner. $ 5.00 for a large foam container. So, so good.

The yuk gae jang was watery. The banchan were ok. Mandoo came out dripping in grease. I’m hoping to find better in Federal Way…

When I don’t feel like venturing off and trying somewhere new, mirak is always a safe choice. You can grill bbq here or opt for entrees. This restaurant is NOT an all you can eat spot so it can add up really fast. A boyfriend favorite is the cold noodle soup. It’s tucked just off of hwy 99. Check it out if you’re in the area!

Really bad service. Side dishes are way below par, poor meat quality and overpriced. Waiteress had bad attitude and spilled beef blood all over my plate, didn’t say anything and left. After that, I left.

Okay, this place is almost like a guilty pleasure of mine. I used to go here all the time with my group of friends back in high school and I remember the service being horrible. This was the first place I ever went to for Korean food, aside from Korea, so I can vouch for the food. The food was darn good but not enough to make up for being served by a snotty waitress who didn’t even try to hide the fact that she didn’t like us. The side dishes were a little odd as well; savory jello? Needless to say, I didn’t return for years. Until just the other day when my boyfriend wanted some cheap, authentic Korean food that wasn’t as expensive as KBBQ. This was honestly the only place I could think of since I usually just make my own Korean food at home. I even warned him just before we headed inside the restaurant to be prepared to be treated very rudely. Boy was I surprised. The waitress there greeted us with a smile, walked us to our table and returned shortly with a couple menus and cups of water.(The cup, by the way, was only half filled with water but that’s okay.) Maybe it was because my boyfriend is white and from my experience, older Asians like Caucasians a lot. After little debate, I ordered the kimchi jjiggae(kimchi soup) and my boyfriend ordered the bibimbap. The thing with Korean cuisine is that there are specific foods that are only really served a specific way, during a specific season. For example, cold noodles is usually only eaten during the Summer. Well, the bibimbap was another of those foods. At other Korean restaurants, there’s only one type of bibimbap, which is the dolsot bibimbap(stone bowl bibimbap). The waitress gave my boyfriend a little bit of a hard time for that one since he ordered just plain old bibimbap.(Why put it on the menu if you’d rather not have people order it that way?) After she gave us our food, that was really all we needed her for so no other complaints on the service. Food was amazing though and my boyfriend keeps wanting me to make him some bibimbap now. Which means we’ll probably be coming back even though the service is iffy.

I’ve forgotten about this little restaurant I used to visit with my friends back when I was an international student in 2004 – 2005. Went there again yesterday for lunch with a friend, we asked to be seated at the table with the BBQer without knowing that you have to order at least 2 meat dish on the grill so we moved back to the normal table. The service was okay but the food was as good as I remembered it to be. I had daeji bulgogi and shared the seafood soondubu with my friend while she had bibimbap and beef bulgogi. The total bill came to $ 45 which wasn’t that bad considering how much food there was(and the leftovers!) We didn’t notice the lunch menu until we were done eating so next time I will remind myself to get the lunch special instead. The daeji bulbogi was good(the pork had more fat than other restaurants but the flavor was good), the beef bulgogi was surprisingly good to me, maybe because I have just had a bad bulgogi from another Korean restaurant 4 days prior to going to Mirak. The seafood soondubu was good, flavor was excellent but they skimp out on the seafood which was a let-down. I might just make this my go-to Korean restaurant whenever I get the cravings, until I find a better place :)

The free and unlimited side dishes are pretty good. Cold noodles I ordered was okay, excerpt that the scissors they gave us for cutting the noodles was dirty and the noodles are quite hard to chew on when its not cut. Service could have been much better, especially if they knew a bit more English. Tried asking them many times about their menu but they either didn’t know or understand.

This place was surprisingly good for how it looks and feel. It felt like authentic home cooked Korean food! The menu could be a bit better since I’m not fluent in Korean. Searching for the food name on my phone was a must to get an Idea on how the food looked like. haha. Thank you smart phones. The food was not a disappointment. Big smiles! Food: Bibim naeng myun — This was a new dish that I’ve never eaten before. It was cold buckwheat noodles. Basically how to eat it is simple, they present you with a bowl with cold noodles and all the ingredients you would need(pickled veggies, vinegar, Gochujang, sesame oil, etc…). You then mix all the ingredients together in the bowl and eat and enjoy! Very simple and refreshing to eat. I think this would be a perfect dish for the hot summer days. Yukkae Jang Kuk — Korean beef stew was so warm and satisfying to my stomach. This was great tasting to warm me up on a cold day like today. Meat, veggies and noodles in it. Stone Bibim Bop — Some places make this with a simple normal bowl. But I think the best is when it is prepared in a stone bowl, you mix it all together and eat. Ingredients in this dish consist of rice, veggies(bean sprouts, carrots, daikon, etc…) and Gochujang(Korean chili pepper paste). From the stone bowl you get to taste the crispy rice that’s cooked on it, kind of like crispy rice cakes. That’s my favorite part.

I like Mirak .and I think 3 stars is fair .the place is not as spotless as most Korean restaurants are in Fed Way… I have never been treated poorly, so I am confused about the reviews saying how bad the service is. I have eaten here on and off for I think 10 years and while it has been for lunch and not dinner .each meal was good. served quickly and the server treated me well. I have enjoyed on multiple occasions the hot spicy tofu soup that is very good and nice and spicy… a fish soup there is to die for but I can not remember the name I appologize .but I think it is the only fish soup on the menu. Banchan …just ok .a lot of it did not seem as «fresh» as I like .now«fresh» is relevant when you are speaking about marinated and fermented foods. but there is a «fresh» with these things and I have not really going crazy over Mirak’s banchan it tastes recycled and perhaps it is. so for me if someone else wants to go to Mirak I will go but if I am alone and have a choice and it is my idea there are so many really great Korean places in Fed Way I will pass. unless I want that fish soup!
